Williams considered it and decided that £2 million was fair, but not for Brad Pitt. "It’s £2 million for Santa, but it’s a freebie for Brad Pitt." He then thought for a minute and said “How much would I have to pay him?”

Katherine Jenkins has revealed that she told Joe McElderry to study classical music. Jenkins, who worked with the X Factor champion during the latest series of Popstar To Operastar, said that the 20-year-old has "massive potential" to be a huge classical star. Jenkins told Digital Spy: "Classic [McElderry's recent album] sold really well and so I think he's got massive potential. "Rolando [Villazon] and I talked to him and said that he could go away from the spotlight for a bit and study for four years and go and do a course at the Royal Academy. He could come out and have a serious career in classical singing. "But I think (more)...

Joe McElderry has claimed that he doesn’t hold a grudge against his former boss Simon Cowell.
The music mogul signed him to his Syco record label, after the Geordie singer won The X Factor in 2009. However, after disappointing sales of his debut album ‘Wide Awake’, Joe was dropped earlier this year.
Despite the cruel axing, McElderry claimed that he doesn’t blame Cowell for his downfall, telling The Daily Mail that he was not responsible foe his career once he left the ITV show. Joe explained:
“Everyone kept coming up to me and saying in a sad voice, ‘How are you?’ But what’s the point of being bitter? Simon gets a lot of criticism, yet he’s not responsible for you once you leave the show. He gives you the platform, then it’s up to you. Simon gave me great opportunities. Why would I be upset with him?...

14 year old classical singer George wowed the audiences with his his operatic tones on tonight’s Born To Shine show.
The young choirboy has been singing in earnest since the age of nine and tonight took to the stage to perform ‘Bring Them Home’ from the musical Les Miserables for the judges and audience.
After his wowing the crowd with his own rendition, George also got to watch Jason Manford attempt to follow in his footsteps, after mentoring and providing voice training to the star for the last four weeks.
The former One Show presenter seemed daunted by the fact that he not only had to sing in public, but also he had to perform in a different language and way out of his comfortable vocal range.
Manford sang Brindisi from Verdi’s La traviata and we were quite surprised when he started so strongly……for a minute we thought...

Joe McElderry has quashed rumours that he has signed up for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.
He is a bit of a reality TV junkie, having previously competed in The X Factor and Popstar To Operastar, but it seems that the South Shields singer prefers a vocal based show, because on Twitter this week he revealed that he will not be a housemate when Celebrity Big Brother launches on Channel 5 this month.
Joe did start speculation himself, by revealing he had a ‘special annoucement’ coming soon.
He wrote on Twitter:
“Okay guys!! Very exciting!! Keep your eyes open for a tour announcement coming very soon!!”
However, he later took to his Facebook page to set the record straight, adding:
“Few people asking, am I going on Big Brother. Most certainly not. Ha ha!”

X Factor star Joe McElderry has admitted that he worries the new series of the show won’t be as good, without it’s two former female judges.
Dannii Minogue announced her decision to leave the ITV reality TV show two months ago (though it is widely believed that she was pushed out by Simon Cowell) and Cheryl Cole left to appear on the American version, only to be sacked from it after just a few weeks on the job.
Joe, who won the series in 2009, explained that while he thinks the new lineup – consisting of Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos – is “really credible”, he does think his former mentor and her Australian pal will be ‘missed’ by fans.
Joe told BBC Newsbeat: “I think Cheryl will be hugely missed, as is Dannii.
“But the lineup is fresh, it’s going to totally change the dynamic of the show.

Joe McElderry has admitted that he was actually glad when he was dropped by Syco earlier this year.
The former X Factor winner, who shot to fame when he beat Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs to a record deal on the ITV show, was cast aside by Simon Cowell’s company just a few months ago. However, after winning Popstar To Operastar last Sunday night, the South Shields performer has landed another recording contract, this time with Decca, and he can’t wait for his fans to hear his new material.
Joe told The Daily Star:
“I’m so happy to be releasing another album.
“I can’t really talk about it yet but it’s going to be pop not opera.
“And it will be more ballads and grown up that my first album.”
Joe added: “To be honest I’m glad to be out of the X Factor machine.

We revealed a few days ago that Joe McElderry had landed a new record deal and today, it has been claimed that Cheryl Cole helped him obtain the contract.
Cole of course mentored the young singer when he appeared and later won the X Factor in 2009 and was said to be gutted for him, when Simon Cowell dropped him from his Syco label earlier this year.
Knowing what it’s like to be tossed aside by the music mogul – Cheryl was sacked from The X Factor USA in May of this year – insiders say she put in a good word with her bosses at Universal records and persuaded them to sign Joe to their classical arm, Decca.
A source told The Sun:
“Joe is thrilled. It looked like he was on the scrapheap but Cheryl has come to his rescue and put in a word reminding bosses what a big talent he is.

Popstar to Operastar victor Joe McElderry has lost his voice after celebrating his win with a party and a karaoke session.
20 year old Joe – and his fellow finalist Cheryl Baker – had been on a booze ban in the lead up to the show’s final, so Joe made the most of the end of that embargo.
The Sun states, “But after clinching the title on Sunday he spent the night belting out karaoke hits with judge Katherine Jenkins and steps singer Claire Richards, who reached the semi-finals.”
Joe said, “We ended up singing lots of Steps songs.
“I didn’t get home until 5am, and had to be on ITV’s Daybreak at six.
“It’s not like me, I’d never normally stay out that late but it was the last time we would see each other properly and we were all celebrating the end of the show.
“We’ve grown very close.

The 'One For Sorrow' singer, who was axed from the ITV competition last week, claimed that she had lost all confidence in her vocal abilities before participating in the show. The X Factor winner and Bucks Fizz star were both saved by the British public in tonight's semi-final, after performing a duet together of Andrea Bocelli's 'Canto Della Terra'. Former Steps singer Claire Richards and Toploader frontman Joseph Washbourn were both voted out of the competition after failing to impress viewers with their own duet of Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto's classic 'Con te partirò/'Time To Say Goodbye'. "I am going to miss it, I've had a lovely time," Richards told host Myleene Klass, following the announcement. "It's so nice to be singing again. I am [going (more)...

Popstar to Operastar contestants Claire Richards and Joe Washbourn believe they’ll leave the contest this week.
Claire, former Steps star, and Joe, Toploader’s front man, have been paired together for the semi-final duet this coming Sunday, and Joe revealed that the choice of song – ‘Con Te Partiro’, Italian for “time to say goodbye” – intimates that their time may be up.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Joe said, “It means “time to say goodbye” in Italian. So it sounds like we are going”.
Former X Factor winner Joe McElderry – who’s still firm favourite to win the show – will duet with Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker, and he’s claimed that if he wins, it’ll be because he won on the “popular vote”.
Classical opera singer Katherine Jenkins has previously suggested that 20-year-old Joe could have a great career in opera if he’s prepared to put in the tough training.

Both ITV and BBC are reportedly “in crisis” regarding the low viewing figures of both channels primetime weekend shows, including Popstar to Operastar and, The Marriage Ref.
The Sun reports that The Marriage Ref, which is hosted by Dermot O’Leary, “is struggling to get more than 10 per cent of viewers in its peaktime Saturday 9pm slot.”
It adds that, “Magic show Penn & Teller: Fool Us, hosted by Jonathan Ross, has seen its audience do a vanishing act with figures down by thousands on its first Saturday outing a fortnight ago.”
Sunday night show Popstar To Operastar, which is presented by Myleene Klass, has also proved a flop this year after losing around a third of its viewers.
TV insiders are predicting that all three shows will be axed while the channels try to decide how to move forward with their weekend line-up.

Joe McElderry proved that he’s not just a cheesy pop singer on last week’s Popstar To Operastar.
The 20 year old singer, who shot to fame after winning the 2009 series of The X Factor, took to the stage on the ITV show and belted out the classical operatic track ‘Nessun Dorma.’
The judging panel were stunned by his authentic rendition – as were we – and expert Rolando Villazon said:
“Well I must say, I know I am listening to you as an opera star, not a pop star, so I need to criticise you as an opera singer. That was fantastic, the Italian was very good. That was extremely enjoyable, that was another chakka chakka performance.”
Simon Callow added: “Fantastic, absolutely thrilling. I saw you this afternoon, I know you were daunted by it but you were fantastic.”

The Erasure singer - who landed in the bottom two alongside Toploader frontman Joe Washbourn - stumbled over his words in the sing-off to 'Largo Al Factotum' from 'The Barber of Seville', causing judges Vanessa Mae, Katherine Jenkins, Simon Callow and Rolando Villazon to unanimously decide to send him home. However, the 47-year-old musician admitted he had suffered a "complete blank" due to the pressure of being in the sing-off. Andy Bell has become the fourth celebrity to leave Popstar To Operastar. The Erasure lead failed to win over the judges after landing bottom of the public vote alongside Toploader's Joseph Washbourn. Bell's fate was seemingly sealed after he forgot his words and appeared to lose confidence in his performance during a final sing-off against Washbourn. As host Myleene Klass threw voting over to the panel, judge Katherine Jenkins stated that she had "hoped [the decision] wouldn't be as clear cut", before accepting that eliminating Bell was the "totally fair thing to do". Jenkins's sentiment was echoed by Vanessa-Mae, who argued that "nerves got the better of" Bell and opted to vote him out. Simon Callow also decided to spare Washbourn - who has finished in the bottom of the public vote for the previous two weeks - (more)...

Joe McElderry has admitted that he may be a bit “stupid” for agreeing to appear in ‘Popstar to Operastar’.
The 19-year-old X factor winner, who was dropped from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label earlier this year – confessed that he is enjoying his training for the show and hopes to end up singing like Pavorotti.
He said: “I’m a bit stupid, aren’t I? I’m putting myself through the whole process again. Crazy or what? But it’s going to be fun, and I do like a challenge.
“I’ve never really been into opera, so I’ve never listened to it. In terms of the kind of person I might sound like, I haven’t got a clue. I’ll try to go for Pavorotti.”
Joe admitted while his voice is “getting there”, he thinks his voice is too “musical theatre” to adopt to the opera style.
