Making its world debut at Tiff back in September, Irish comedy The Stag will be heading into cinemas on our shores in just a few months’ time, marking the feature directorial debut from novelist John Butler.
Arrow launched a new trailer just before Christmas, and to celebrate the coming New Year, we’ve got the quad poster to share as an exclusive, along with the film’s Irish and UK release dates.
No one makes a less likely candidate for a wild stag party than Fionnan (Hugh O’Conor), a set designer so comfortable in his masculinity that he feels no shame in micromanaging the decor for his forthcoming wedding. But his adoring fiancée, Ruth (Amy Huberman), feels that Fionnan really needs to cut loose in one last bachelor’s hurrah with his mates. She recruits Davin (Andrew Scott), Fionnan’s best friend — and her ex — to make the arrangements.

He is best known for having a famous acting dad – Brendan – and admits he isn't classic leading-man material. But will his roles in the films Dredd and Anna Karenina change that?
On a fiercely sunny afternoon in London, Domhnall Gleeson lopes into the hotel courtyard in a blue hoodie and grey jeans, and sticks out a hand to shake mine. The cheerful 29-year-old pulls up a chair in the shade; he is pink and tall and skinny, with a shock of short orange hair in place of the lank locks worn in some of his most widely seen work. (He was Ron Weasley's scarred brother Bill in the final Harry Potter instalments, and a whimpering outlaw in the Coen brothers' True Grit.) He is well known for his well-known father, Brendan Gleeson, who makes such a feast of supporting parts that you wish he got more leads. The same can...

Irish actor Michael McElhatton has been tapped for a recurring role in the second season of the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. McElhatton will play Roose Bolton, a slimy, dangerous character who will play an important part in the events of the series. Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort, swears allegiance to the newly crowned Robb Stark (Richard Madden), though strangely most of Bolton's season two interactions will be with another member of the Stark clan.
Bolton is a tactical, cunning man who isn't too physically imposing; he's pale and leeches himself regularly for his health. He has a bastard son, Ramsay Snow, and both enjoy flaying the skin from their (still living) enemies. Bolton isn't exactly the most trustworthy character in Robb's camp, though he's an important one because of his strategic skills.
McElhatton most recently appeared in an episode of Masterpiece Mystery's Zen. He also starred in...
