Fairly good episode... but something's wrong there
andremarek15 November 2006
Sneeze is the second episode of the sixth season of Smallville. It's pretty good, although there are some ironic elements, it does have a lot of good stuff in it.

I liked the introduction of Green Arrow and the mystery that is surrounding his character. I also liked the character that kidnapped Lex and his sadistic way of trying to learn about Lex's ability. But let's face it, the second episodes of every season this series has had so far have been much better. Mainly because the situations around the season finales hadn't even been solved yet. There was always need of two episodes to solve whatever has been going on the past season, but with this season ultra fast and conclusive "Zod" (don't get me wrong, I think this was a good episode, but with some mistakes too), Sneeze was just a regular episode that could've been fitted at the middle of the season and the change would've had almost no effect whatsoever in the continuity.

Maybe I'm being too harsh on the writing, but it is a fact that the events that happened during the last season finale could've lasted for at least one more episode and the narrative would've felt better.

I'm really hoping that as time passes, this season of Smallville improves. It's not that it's bad, but after the fantastic season 5 I was just hoping for something else, something better. I'm looking forward for next week's Wither, in the hope that this does get better.

Clark is sick?!
Rcwilkinson1237 October 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Clark discovers one of his last abilities in Season 6's second episode.

After suffering through the harsh, cold climate in the Phantom Zone, Clark catches a cold for the first time in his life. This causes him to have a really BIG sneezing problem. Meanwhile, Lex gets kidnapped by men who are desperate to know where his super-abilities came from. Also, Oliver Queen arrives in Metropolis to assist with the repercussions of Dark Thursday, as he suspects that it is Lex's fault. Not coincidentally, the kidnappers suspect the same thing.

Although Clark's newfound ability in this episode is a little cheesy, it is still fun and humorous to see it manifest itself. And who knew Lana could go karate on an able employee of Queen Industries without being possessed by an ancient witch ancestor? (See Season 4.)

Sneeze
Colcatron8 April 2011
I always love the episodes where Clark discovers a new power. All of the scenes in "Sneeze" that deal with Clark's new power are just as fun and entertaining as all of the past ability discovery stories, but the real problem here is the very tacked on story involving Lex getting kidnapped. Compare it to X-Ray from season 1, Heat from season 2, and Whisper from season 3. Just like this episode, they all featured Clark having a new power develop in an intense and uncomfortable way, but the prior seasons always worked the side plots into Clark's story flawlessly. Lex's kidnapping in Sneeze seems completely irrelevant and tacked. There are still some entertaining scenes when the focus remains on Clark's out of control new power.

A Weak and Silly Episode
claudio_carvalho22 March 2008
Clark Kent is completely worn-out, rebuilding Metropolis during the night, and he has a cold with a powerful sneeze. Meanwhile, Lana Lang moves to Lex Luthor's mansion, who is worried about someone that is following him. When Luthor is kidnapped by two former government agents that had seen his powers through a satellite and wants to know how he could be so powerful, the weak Clark tries to find him. Lionel Luthor has a meeting with the millionaire Oliver Queen and advises him that if something bad happens to Lex, there would be a payback.

"Sneeze" is a very weak and silly episode of "Smallville". I was completely disappointed with the predictable situations disclosed in this story. The good news are the arrival of a new criminal in Metropolis, Oliver Queen, and the proximity of the marvelous Chloe Sullivan to Clark. The rest is totally forgettable. My vote is six.
