Jan. 6, 1994, continues to be known as the day one of the biggest sports scandals in American history took place. Olympians Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan were preparing for their second Games together when Kerrigan was attacked - but was Harding involved? She holds onto her innocence to this day. Multiple documentaries have been made on the incident, and now Margot Robbie will star in Hollywood's big-budget film I, Tonya, set to hit theaters on Dec. 8. The scandal occurred over 20 years ago, yet the movie offers a new reason to revisit the case. In a time when some women choose to tear each other down for the sake of their own careers and relationships, the movie will surely open a fresh perspective. Their Relationship Harding was the first American woman to land a triple axel (the name just sounds difficult in itself) in the 1991 Us Figure Skating Championships. She ended up...

Dave Coulier, the actor and comedian who played Joey Gladstone on the now-classic sitcom "Full House," would like everyone to know that he is not Canadian. His mother is Canadian, but he was born and raised in Detroit, Mich., and got his start in stand-up there at a young age.
He's not sure why that untruth has seeped into the public consciousness, but it seems to fit with a few other rumors about the Detroit-born Coulier: that he inspired ex-girlfriend Alanis Morrissette's quintessential angry-rock-song, "You Oughta Know," that he wanted to play professional hockey, that he's dead. (The Huffington Post can confirm that he's very much alive.)
Though Coulier's still best known for his "Full House" connection, he's also worked consistently as a voice actor over the years on "The Jetsons," "Scooby and Scrappy Doo," and "Muppet Babies," among others, and he's continued to tour all over the country as a stand-up comedian.

ABC just announced that when the current season of Dancing With the Stars tangos off the stage, it will be replaced with a six-episode run of Skating With the Stars. Because what’s funnier then questionably coordinated B-listers in sequins? Questionably coordinated B-listers in sequins … on ice.
As soon as I heard about this edition, my mind flew back to that Fox show Skating With Celebrities from 2006 (pictured here) that found stars like Kristy Swanson, Bruce Jenner, and Todd Fields stumbling and bumbling with actual figure skaters like Nancy Kerrigan and Lloyd Eisler in a pairs competition. (Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler ended up winning.

BBC Worldwide Productions, the team behind Dancing with the Stars, is officially planning an ice dancing reality-competition series for ABC "later this year," according to a statement. This is really happening. It'll be modeled after BBC's Strictly Ice Dancing and will feature six celebrities paired with professional stars from the skating world. (Related: Johnny Weir needs to turn pro Asap. He should at least be the host.) Back when I compared Olympic Ice Dancing to Dancing with the Stars, commenter Katie provided a metaphor all of us could understand: "Both are junk food, but ice dancing is Ben & Jerry's and...

Toronto -- Talk about TV that taps into the zeitgeist.
"Battle of the Blades," a new reality competition series that has hockey heroes mastering graceful ice dance routines with figure skating champs, has become a ratings winner for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
Think Canada, and ice naturally comes to mind. And the CBC has scored as hockey-mad Canadians watch retired NHL greats get schooled in leading and lifting -- and hopefully not dropping -- former Olympic female figure skaters.
No knock on Kristy Swanson and Bruce Jenner, but "Battle of the Blades" exec producer John Brunton insists the CBC series is no "Skating With Celebrities," the 2006 Fox on-ice take of ABC's hit "Dancing With the Stars" series.
Brunton said the Canadian ice dance competition series enlisted athletes who know how to stay steady on their skates.
"When Canadians watch figure skating, they want to see a high level of quality,...

Prankster Kristy Swanson stunned guests at her wedding ceremony on Saturday when she asked her longtime movie stunt double to take a fall for her.The original Buffy The Vampire Slayer added drama to her big day after persuading Heather Burton Gibson to don a white gown and veil and tumble down a flight of stairs as wedding guests waiting at the bottom gasped in shock.
The actress says, "I just thought, 'Well, I'll ask her,' and I go, 'Will you fall down the stairs for me?' and she said, 'Hell, yeah, I'll do it.'"
Even Swanson's mum, Rosemary, was fooled into thinking her daughter had tripped and fallen down the stairs.
She tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, "I'm sitting there thinking, 'Well, the worst thing that could happen to Kristy would be if she would take a tumble down those stairs and, when it happened, I just panicked."
After the prank, Swanson glided down the stairs and exchanged vows with professional ice skater Lloyd Eisler, who she met while shooting U.S. TV reality show Skating With Celebrities.

From skating on ice to the walking down the aisle, Skating With Celebrities champs Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler wed last night in San Luis Obispo, California, according to People. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress and the former Olympic figure skater met in 2005 as partners on the Fox reality ice skating competition. The couple began dating even though Eisler, 45, was still married at the time and his wife was pregnant. In June 2007, Swanson, 39, was arrested for allegedly assaulting her lover's ex but the charges were later withdrawn. The newlyweds have a 2-year-old son, Magnus. Eisler has two young children from his previous marriage.

Former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Kristy Swanson is to marry her skating beau in San Luis Obispo, California in February. Lloyd Eisler fell for the actress while partnering with her on U.S. reality show Skating With Celebrities in 2007. The professional skater left his wife to romance the star. His wife, in turn, pressed assault charges against Swanson, accusing the actress of beating her in front of her kids. The charges were dropped. And, now the drama is over, Swanson is keen to put the past behind her. She insists the intimate wedding on 7 February (09) will be all about uniting her family. She says, "It'll be a weekend wedding and Lloyd's two boys will be coming. This will all be about the blending of a family." As well as her soon-to-be stepsons, Swanson has a son with Eisler, called Magnus.

Actress Kristy Swanson was arrested in Canada on Saturday night for the alleged assault of her partner Lloyd Eisler's ex-wife Marcia O'Brien. The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star, 37, alleges O'Brien attacked her in front of the latter's children with Eisler in Kingston, Ontario. Swanson says, "I had to go the police station where I had an appointment at 9pm to begin the process of being arrested." Swanson, who has been released on $468 bail, claims police took photographs of her injuries, which she alleges were given to her by O'Brien. The actress plans to press for criminal charges against O'Brien. Professional ice skater Eisler and Swanson caused a scandal when they started dating while co-starring in TV talent show Skating With Celebrities in late 2005 - while Eisler was still married to O'Brien, who was then pregnant with the couple's second child Seth Keenan. Eisler divorced O'Brien in January - a month before Swanson gave birth to their son Magnus Hart.

NBC's Turin Winter Olympics coverage dominated Monday's primetime competition, drawing more than 20 million viewers to its coverage of figure skating and speed skating, among other events. NBC's 8-11 p.m. coverage averaged 21 million viewers and a healthy 6.5 rating/16 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. Viewership peaked between 10-10:30 p.m. at 22.4 million viewers and 7.5/18 in the key demo. Fox's 24 (13.5 million, 5.4/13) continued its hot streak and was competitive against the extraordinary competition in the 9 p.m. hour, overcoming a weak 8 p.m. lead-in from Skating With Celebrities (7.5 million, 2.6/7). CBS served up a slate of repeats with the exception of 9:30 p.m. rookie Courting Alex (11.2 million, 3.7/8), which had a hard time holding on to its respectable lead-in from the 9 p.m. encore of Two and a Half Men (13.7 million, 4.4/10). ABC was lukewarm from 9-11 p.m. with a two-hour dose of The Bachelor (9.2 million, 4.2/10) coming out of an 8 p.m. repeat of Wife Swap (8,8 million, 3.5/9). For the night, NBC had no competition for the Nielsen gold. CBS was No. 2 in viewers (11.3 million) while Fox took the silver in adults 18-49 (4.0/10).

NEW YORK -- Fresh off star Kiefer Sutherland's win Sunday night at the SAG Awards, 24 made double-digit gains compared with last year and came in second in the adults 18-49 demographic Monday night. But strong performances by a repeat of Two and a Half Men and a new CSI: Miami propelled CBS to a win in viewers (14.6 million) and the demo (4.9 rating/12 share), according to data released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research. CSI: Miami was primetime's top show in both categories, with 19.8 million viewers and a 5.7/13. But the numbers told a good story for 24, which averaged 13.8 million viewers and a 5.7/13 in adults 18-49. Ratings for its first six episodes are running ahead of last year's season average by 17% in the demo and 15% in viewers. Lead-in Skating With Celebrities averaged 10 million viewers and a 3.3/8 in the demo.

American Idol mowed down everything in its path Wednesday, but ABC made it a horse race at 9 p.m. with Lost squaring off against the premiere of Fox's Skating With Celebrities. Idol opened up the second night of its fifth-season premiere with no less than 31.7 million viewers and an eye-popping 13.0 rating/33 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. The rest of the 8 p.m. competition combined couldn't match Idol's oomph; UPN's new drama South Beach (1.7 million, 0.7/2) and NBC's E-Ring (7.9 million, 1.9/5) in particular took a drubbing. At 9 p.m., however, Skating (18.7 million, 7.2/17) slipped to No. 2 against Lost (19.1 million, 8.0/18), which was a feat for Lost given Skating's lead-in advantage. CBS' Criminal Minds (14.1 million, 4.0/9), which has performed well against Lost in recent weeks, felt the pinch but still managed to spike from its 8:30 p.m. Yes, Dear (7.1 million, 2.2/5) lead-in.
