Described by IndieWire’s own David Ehrlich as “a sweet and subdued look at the absurdity of life after death,” the Israeli dramedy “One Week and a Day” articulates the often very personal way that individuals deal with death.
The film marks the directorial debut of filmmaker Asaph Polonsky, and it earned him a splashy world premiere slot at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, along with 7 Israeli Academy Awards nominations.

Thx is on a mission to bring dynamic sound to the virtual reality experience. “What we’re primarily focused on is the acoustic environment for Vr. All you’re getting now in Vr is called binaural, which puts the sound in the middle of your head,” CEO TyAhmad-Taylor told TheWrap just hours after his company was acquired by gaming company Razer. “In the Vr space, we feel like the headsets and being able to play with those, that’s been solved. Getting high-end experiences is kind of evolving, we’re trying to figure out what works and doesn’t work.

Now what would the movies be like if everybody on the big screen was a conformist and blandly played by the rules? Every now and then it can be quite therapeutic to have a bad apple shape our rigid outlook with a dosage of cynicism in cinema. Whether intentionally unruly or merely questioning the status quo movie rebels can be compellingly entertaining for various reasons.
So who are your choice big screen rabble-rousers that like to stir the pot and cause dissension in the name of justice or just plain anti-establishment? In Trouble With a Cause: The Top 10 Movie Rebels let us take a look at some of the on-screen troublemakers with a taste for colorful turmoil, shall we?

Celebrated Summer
Written and Drawn by: Charles Forsman
Hanging out with a friend. Driving around with no real destination. Getting high just to get high. Experiencing the city and people in it who come out at night. Thinking that there has to be something better coming up but not really wanting today to end. Video games and cops. Wanting some future salvation but not knowing where to find it or even if it could truly exist.
Charles Forsman’s Celebrated Summer is a snapshot. Not of an image but of experiences and fears. Reading the book is like looking through an old photo album as you fondly remember the times, places and people in those photos. It’s not so much the actual image itself that triggers something in you but the memories of everything going on around those images. The photo is just a catalyst that floods your mind with memories and thoughts.

This article was originally published on April 20, 2009, and has been reposted each year since. In 2012, it was updated to include, for the first time, the full identities of the men behind the coining of the term "420," as well as additional details. Carly Schwartz contributed to the reporting.
Warren Haynes, the Allman Brothers Band guitarist, routinely plays with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead, touring as The Dead. It's the spring of 2009, he's just finished a Dead show in Washington, D.C., and he gets a pop quiz from The Huffington Post.
Where does "420" come from?
He pauses and thinks, hands on his sides. "I don't know the real origin. I know myths and rumors," he says. "I'm really confused about the first time I heard it. It was like a police code for smoking in progress or something. What's the real story?"

From reading about Eddie Huang, it becomes clear that he is the Terrell Owens of the food service industry. He's loud, outspoken, extremely talented, and does things both inside and outside of the kitchen that we've never seen before. Eddie has composed his thoughts for several years on his personal blog, but he'll now receive another platform on which he can dish out his outspoken views. Huang will star in Fresh Off The Boat, a Vice web series with the same name as his blog. In Fresh Off The Boat, Huang will use his unique viewpoint to dissect several aspects of Asian-American (and, more generally, immigrant) culture in New York City. If you're curious as to what Huang is like or what to expect from his show, a good place to start is with his appearance on Vice's Munchies series, where he appeared in an episode called Getting High Off Asian Food.

There's a certain magical quality to modern day drugs. The tiniest prescribed pill can cure a multitude of medical problems, whilst the tiniest illegally-purchased pill can create the illusion you have cured a multitude of non-medical problems. So it's no wonder Hollywood loves injecting cool ideas about what sorts of human ailments — both physical and spiritual — fictional drugs might be able to treat.
In "Dredd 3D," the latest redux of comic book hero and one-man-justice-system, Judge Dredd, a narcotic named Slo-Mo has hit the streets, allowing its users to experience reality in slow motion (in the future, drug names are very literal). And this got us jonesing for a list of our favorite movie pharmaceuticals we dare you to "just say no" to.

It should never be argued that Oliver Stone is not a good director. He’s got an interesting point of view, creating a visual story that is aesthetically and dramatically compelling. The problem here, at least with Savages, is that the story itself can’t float with anyone- Stone or no.
It’s really all in the characters. It’s not that the cast isn’t capable of fulfilling their duties; with actors like Benecio Del Toro, Taylor Kitsch, Salma Hayek, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta and Blake Lively, it’s hard to falter in the performance aspect. But as I sat through the wonderfully directed and well acted film, I couldn’t help but think, “Why should I actually give a shit about anyone in this movie?”
The film is a drug thriller with several interesting twists thrown in for good measure. Johnson and Kistch play Ben and Chon (no seriously,...

Jonah Hill in the "21 Jump Street" trailer

The Twitter war between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to see who'd get to tweet the "21 Jump Street" red-band trailer didn't exactly work out as planned. Hill won, yet for some reason didn't send out the link, so Tatum stepped in and executed the tweetage. But the new footage is nonetheless here.
The action-comedy — based on Johnny Depp's '80s TV series, of course — stars Hill and Tatum as two young cops who join a resurrected undercover unit, pose as students and infiltrate a local high school to get to the bottom of a synthetic-drug ring. Depp's cameo, unsurprisingly, doesn't pop up in the new footage, but what else does? Let's go ahead and take a look at the trailer's five key moments.

Update: Almost every time The Weinstein Co gets set to release a new movie, it manufactures some fake “controversy” in order to get free film publicity from media outlets. Usually it’s Weinstein Co vs MPAA’s ratings system. Now it’s Weinstein Co vs ABC. I’m sick and tired of these TWC press releases, frankly. So here’s the latest: Weinstein today is bitching that ABC refused to air the commercial spot for its new comedy Our Idiot Brother being released Friday unless TWC made these specific cuts: Please Remove The Visual Of The Exchange Of What Is Assumed To Be Drugs. Please Remove The Visual Of The Character Using The Juice Box To Depict Urination. Please Remove The References To Getting High And Smoking. The refusal prompted Harvey Weinstein to cut a new and dirtier red-band trailer for the film and dedicate it “to censorship everywhere”. Oh barf.

2009 saw the release of Infamous, a Playstation 3 exclusive title, and with it came early access to Uncharted 2’s newly conceived multiplayer experience – and what an experience it was. Fast forward to June 2011 and the release of Infamous 2 and early access to Uncharted 3′s latest multiplayer experience.
Uncharted 2’s first foray into the multiplayer sphere gave us a strong emphasis on competitive and co-operative action. What it had over the competition was the skilful combination of lateral and vertical movement and action. This added an extra layer of skill, strategy and tactics to proceedings. With the release of this latest beta Naughty Dog plans to up the ante, the action and more importantly the fun. Previously access was confined to early infamous 2 owners and Playstation plus...

Alibis focuses on an ex-confidence man (Steve Coogan) who runs an alibi service for adulterous husbands and finds himself in a jam with a new client.
