Lionel Richie: singer, songwriter, muffin man? At a pre-Grammy Awards tribute for the music legend Saturday night, Dave Grohl had Richie, 66, doubled over laughing as he recounted the tale of a massive basket of muffins Richie sent over - without a card - as Grohl recovered from leg surgery. "One day my wife comes in the bedroom and says, 'Wait 'til you see the muffin basket that just showed up!' So I went in there and this is the biggest muffin basket I have ever seen in my entire life, it was five hundred muffins, this high, that wide,...

He’s always up for a challenge, and Adam Levine proved his sublime singing skills during a segment on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” called “Wheel of Musical Impressions” last night (September 2).
The “Maps” singer competed against Fallon as a host of different iconic singers and commonplace songs were selected at random.
Levine started out singing “Heads, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” in the style of Frank Sinatra and he absolutely killed it.
From there, Fallon tried “Rude” as Bob Dylan and “Old MacDonald” as Iggy Azalea while Adam tackled “Sesame Street” as Michael Jackson and “Muffin Man” as Eddie Vedder.
In the end, Jimmy congratulated Adam on being the “champ” of the game, though everyone was a winner for having witnessed the ordeal.

We got a lot of answers last night, but in classic Pll style, they only led to more questions. Was Melissa telling the truth about Wilden? Why didn’t I think of nicknaming Aria’s mom’s inappropriately young boyfriend “the Muffin Man”? Was I supposed to be paying attention during that “Halloween Train” episode last year? I thought it was like a Baby-Sitters Club Super Special, you know? Fun in isolation, no influence on the plot or character development of the real series. Oops! But I’m not the only one making mistakes around here; one of our very own Liars plummeted to the bottom of the Pretty Little Power Rankings for her set of screw-ups.1. Emily’s dad (last week: not ranked)Well, look who’s back from the front lines! Somebody had to say a farewell to arms because all was not quiet on the Rosewood front (okay,...

11:30 p.m. - We're prepping for the new season by watching "Development Arrested," the final episode of Season 3. Also, this is about as themed as we get.

Watch the first three seasons of "Arrested Development" on Netflix. Today we're covering the ninth episode of Season 3, "Mr. F," which premiered Jan. 2, 2006.
"Arrested Development" has always been a self-aware show, but none of its episodes are quite as tongue-in-cheek as "S.O.B.s." Airing a month after the third season's episode order had been cut nearly in half, "S.O.B.s" is a satirical attempt to win over more viewers by making the characters more relatable, having them develop, offering up problems with clear solutions and employing viewer-grabbing tactics like a live finale, celebrity guest stars and 3D effects -- basically, mocking the problems people had found with the series up until that point.

We scour the interwebs for the coolest movie news and more so you don't have to ...
"Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" (back then it was just called plain ol' "Star Wars") opened 35 years ago this weekend. Moviefone celebrates the beginning of a cultural phenomenon with a collection of some classic "Star Wars" photos that you may not have ever seen before.
Actually, the fact that it opened against "E.T." makes "Grease 2" even cooler. Upon "The Chernobyl Diaries" sharing the same release date as "Men in Black III," MTV Clutch takes a look at some other, shall we say, "smaller" films that have opened against big Hollywood blockbusters.
Every male (and some females) on the planet heaved a collective sigh this week upon the news that Keira Knightley is getting hitched to some indie rocker dude. Who is this (very lucky) guy, anyway? Hollywood.com lists six...

There's Avenue Q, Sunset Boulevard, "The Street Where You Live," "Life is a Highway," Abbey Road, and Jason Street. And those are all great! But none of those thoroughfares can hold a candle to the Lanes. There are characters named Lane, characters who live on lanes, and lanes that represent an era, a romance, or a place for the Muffin Man to live. These are the greatest Lanes in pop culture.

Gilbert Cates Obit Pt.1: Oscar Ceremony Most Frequent Producer In fact, Gilbert Cates' best film-related work took place far from the Academy Awards ceremonies. Two of his '70s movies in particular, the family dramas I Never Sang for My Father (1970) and Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams (1973), are notable both for Cates' quiet, subtle handling of the dramatic situations and for the generally masterful performances: I Never Sang for My Father featured Melvyn Douglas, Gene Hackman, and Estelle Parsons; Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams featured Joanne Woodward, Martin Balsam, and Sylvia Sidney (photo). Douglas and Woodward were nominated for Oscars, and so were Hackman and Sidney in the supporting categories (even though Hackman was as much a lead as Douglas). Douglas, Woodward, and the veteran Sidney, a first-time nominee after more than four decades in films, should have won. They lost to, respectively, George C. Scott in Patton; Glenda Jackson...

Gilbert Cates, long-time producer of film, TV, theater and the Academy Awards, was found dead at 77 last night in a UCLA parking lot. While the cause of death is unknown, Cates underwent heart surgery earlier this month, TMZ reports.
Cates produced a record 14 broadcasts of the Academy Awards over the course of 18 years, from 1990 to 2008. In 2006, he was quoted as saying, "If you want a sense of what America is like, you'll watch the Oscars."
As a film producer, some of his most well-known features include "I Never Sang for My Father" (1970), "Summer Wishes" (1973), "Winter Dreams" (1973), "Oh, God! Book II" (1980) and "The Last Married Couple in America" (1980).
In addition, the Hollywood Reporter notes that Cates was a daring TV producer, often covering subjects that were taboo at the time. Consenting Adult, which he directed in 1984, covered homosexuality and Do You Know the Muffin Man?, which he directed in 1989, focused on...

Welcome to Volume 5: Redemption.
We open with the much hyped new crew of circus folk, all dressed in black and looking somberly over an open grave. The eulogy serves as the Mohinder-esh voiceover over an opening montage o' heroes. It starts with visions we're familiar with: Peter taking a leap off the top of a large building, Claire falling to her not-death in the first season, Sylar enjoying his energy-powers, Nathan, Tracey, Parkman, and Hiro living their lives. We start to see some new things. Claire arriving at college, Noah spinning his wedding ring on a table, Parkman with an older baby-Parkman, Peter being a paramedic, and a few other quick shots. The voiceover is about finding a way in a world that doesn't accept you, finding redemption. "I say it's time to find our way back home again." And with that, the eu-google-izer (Samuel) uses telekinesis to fill in the grave.

After much speculation, the role of Leah Clearwater has been filled and it was not with Bandslam star Vanessa Hudgens but to model and up and coming actress Julia Jones. When Hudgens was spotted hanging out in Vancouver with Nikki Reed, rumors of the poptart getting the role of Leah seemed inevitable. Sadly, the role went to The Gap model who is very excited to be joining the team up in Vancouver soon, but we are still wondering why Hudgens was north of the border? Happy Wednesday! We have made it half way through another week which puts us closer and closer to the November 20th New Moon release date. Since a typical Wednesday can be painfully slow we've decided to super size your Twilight Saga Daily Dosage today. We've got a soulless Kristen Stewart, a singing Taylor Lautner, a shy Robert Pattinson, a muffin eating werewolf, and a complete cast list for Eclipse.
