Want to enhance your horror movie? Make sure you sign up a cat...
This feature contains broad spoilers for several horror movies featuring cats, including Alien, Cat People, Drag Me To Hell, Fallen, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, Pet Sematary and The Voices.
The relationship between humans and cats over time has given way to a number of cultural impressions and outright superstitions. Ancient Egyptians associated them with gods. In the Middle Ages, they were linked with witches and killed en masse, which probably hastened the spread of the Black Plague through the rodent population. And in the modern day, it's interchangeably lucky or not if a black cat crosses your path.
Like anything with such a wide array of symbolic links, movies have presented cats as characters in different ways over the years. It's their abiding association with the supernatural – whether as an omen...

Ancient Aliens doesn't seem so crazy anymore! Geekologie tells us that a dagger that was buried with King Tut (who ruled Egypt around 1324 B.C.) has been confirmed to have been constructed from meteoritic iron!
According to the study, the blade is constructed of iron and cobalt consistent to that of meteorites that were present in the early beginnings of our solar system! This means one of two things:
Ancient Egyptians constructed weapons for royalty using fallen space rocksTut got a gift for being the first human to make contact with an otherworldly species!
I want to believe, but science points to the first one being more true than the latter. We can still hold out hope though, right?...

Love them or loathe them, cats certainly rule the internet. Like the Ancient Egyptians, we worship cats and seem absolutely fascinated by the felines, with countless pictures of them floating around the web, and some of them reaching unparalleled heights of fame.
Telling someone that you don’t like cats evokes a bizarre and peculiar reaction – you are forced to justify your distain for the creatures, perhaps though allergies, fear or simply a lack of affection towards all animals. You are put on the spot and have to make an excuse for having a lack of interest which is perfectly rational, yet you are treated like a zealot for voicing your opinion.
Although the internet’s love of cats makes non-lovers of the animals feel like a crazed minority, this is far from the case. There are plenty of people who find the small furry things equally as irritating,...

London, April 2: The story about archaeologists unearthing a 3,000-year-old mummified teddy bear has turned out to be a very elaborate joke for April Fool's Day.
It was reported that Ancient Egyptians not only cuddled with the toys but also worshipped them, the Daily Express reported.
It was said that the toy was excavated in a funerary deposit in the Valley of the T'eds, near Luxor in Egypt and was perfectly preserved and was found in its own miniature coffin. (Ani)...

Clear your schedule of anything and everything for the next few weeks – Plants Vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time! is out now and remains as addictive, fun, entertaining and time-consuming as the first one. The flower defence game where you marshal your plants against endless hordes of zombies has several new features all of which make the game even more fun than it was the first time around.
Before I get into that, note that currently PVZ2 is only available on iOS devices – that means anyone without an Apple product that plays games will not be able to play PVZ2. PopCap/EA will of course be releasing this on other platforms later but for now it’s Apple only. Sorry, Android users!
The other main issue with the game, even before we talk about the game itself, is the pay-for-play feature that dogged pre-release chatter. Instead of paying for...

Robert Singer.
Writer: Adam Glass.
In "Supernatural’s" latest, “Defending Your Life,” Dean Winchester has to deal with his guilt and face those actions he had regret over. This episode continues from the previous one, “The Girl Next Door,” where he killed Amy in cold blood. Viewers are left wondering if he will tell Sam. Instead, the Egyptian god Osiris (Faran Tahir) may be the one forcing him to tell all.
Apparently this deity has no qualms of changing the status quo either. He can leave the Underworld once in a blue moon to go bar hopping. He is nonchalant when prying into the affairs of mortals. No explanation is given for why he chose the town of Dearborn, Michigan as his entry-point. Maybe there are no more pure blood Egyptians he can preside over back home.
As interesting as this interpretation is, there are some elements from his origins that are not revealed.

When it comes to the story of the eight-year-old boy king, the classic tale never gets old, no matter how many versions are made. The Curse of King Tutankhamen's Tomb whisks you off to November 1922, where 48-year-old struggling archaeologist Howard Carter (Robin Ellis), who has already spent six years at an Egyptian dig in the Valley of Kings, is desperate to find something. Fortune, it seems at the beginning, blesses him when he discovers the tomb of Tutankhamen, one of Egypt’s youngest pharaohs. However, the rumours of an ancient curse, foreshadowing grief and disaster, threaten to mar his triumph...
The storyline is obviously good and, once you read the plot synopsis, lures you into watching it. However, if you’re really into Ancient Egyptians, then you might be in for a disappointed evening after watching this DVD.
The opening doesn’t live up to the précis, and fails to hook you in immediately.

(Author's Note: I am going to write this Whole piece without Ever using the phrase "catfight." Check it out.) Welcome back, gorehounds, to the latest installment of Deadliest Fantasy Warrior, wherin we match up two ferocious warriors in a battle to the death to see who will emerge victorious! Kinda like that Spike TV show. If that show were as cool as we are. Which it isn't. Throughout the centuries, female warriors have channeled certain types of animals when engaging in battle, even as far back as the Ancient Egyptians, which featured a warrior goddess known as Sekhmet, who was part woman, part lioness.
