Several intense scenes of fighting and of characters being chased by wolves and other enemies, including a scene of a chase over the ice of a melting river.SPOILER: A bull creature knocks Aslan to the ground and other creatures grab and tie up the lion; they then cut his mane, drag him across the stone platform, up some stairs and leave him on the altar for the White Witch; she then raises her knife and jabs it down, killing him (we don't see the impact, but do see the results on his face -- pain and then his actual death). There is a very violent, graphic and brutal battle scene at the climax of the film; repeated on-screen killings and slayings with very little or no blood at all; this particular scene is definately not that of a normal PG movie (the special "Extended Edition" of the film shows the "extended" version of this scene which is a lot longer and very graphic with no gore, though); also, in this scene, a young boy is stabbed by the White Witch with her magic wand (he almost dies, but is given a special healer, which cures him magically).
Read under the "Violence & Gore" section on this site for more detailed information. In the scene Aslan is led to execution by the White Witch, many terrifying-looking creatures cackle around and mock him; the scene ends in Aslan's temporary death and is pretty intense and may frighten young children. There are a few scenes with the White Witch that especially young children might find frightening; one in particular is a scene in which we see the fox stand in defiance of the witch; for that, she turns him to stone, with a look of fear frozen on his face - this is a somewhat startling moment in the film which might scare younger children.
