In key appointments at Constantin Film, one of Europe’s biggest – and most ambitious – of production powerhouses, Viola Jäger and Jan Ehlert has been named as its new Chief Content Officers.
Jan Ehlert will head up TV/streaming, Viola Jäger oversee content for theatrical/film; both report to Constantin Film CEO Oliver Berben.
For years, Constantin has built its business on big international hits, such as the “Resident Evil” franchise, and a rock-solid domestic business powered by national blockbusters, such as, most recently, “Chantal and the Magic Kingdom,” which has sold over 2.6 million admissions in Germany.
Coming just a couple of months after Berben took over formally from Martin Moszkowicz as Constantin Film CEO, the new appointments are a play for continuity. Ehlert joined Moovie in 2000, just a year after Constantin head Berndt Eichinger had bought the Berben-headed company. Focusing on TV in his now 24-year career at Constantin Film,...

A graduate of both the Seoul Institute of the Arts and the Korean Academy of Film Arts, Yi Ok-seop has been carving a name for herself with a variety of shorts, most notably her 2010 debut ‘Please, Find My Mom’, 2014’s ‘A Dangerous Woman’ (Yi’s first collaboration with actor/producer Koo Kyo-hwan), and 2017’s ‘Girls on Top’. After her contribution to the anthology film ‘Now Playing’, Yi began work on her feature film debut ‘Maggie’, premiering at Busan International Film Festival where it picked up a whole host of awards including the Citizen Critics Award as well as Actress of the Year for lead Moo So-ri.
Since 2019 ‘Maggie’ has embarked on an extensive festival run including a recent stop at Fantasia, where this snippet of a panel discussion is lifted from. During the event, the panel divulged its captivated audience with the social problems affecting Korea’s youth, the meaning behind the titular catfish,...

We're feeling a little bereft. The Big Reunion has come to an end - though at least it was with a bang! The show went out in style with the much-trailed Hammersmith gig and now it's time to pack up our trouser skirts, heart glitter and gel pens and get back to our adult lives (well, as adult as we get anyway.) But at least the last hurrah was a good'un - here's what we noticed from the last episode of The Big Reunion's second series...
1. Kian Egan has a filthy mouth.
"Hear'Say, kiss my arse." Kian. We expected better from a former Westlife member from Westlife.
2. Andi Peters' voiceover just got even more ridiculous.
It started reasonably enough, with talk of clutching crocheted Adam Rickitt dolls to our bosoms, which we related to, obviously. Then it just got silly: "Jade is wearing a hat." Then it got...

"Hurricane Venus" music video from BoA has made its way out for fans' viewing pleasure. It sees the South Korean recording artist going through several costume changes and doing her best dance routine with several male extras.
A 3-D version of the video is rumored to have been made with the help from Pace HD, the cinematography team behind James Cameron-directed hit movie "Avatar". Coming out in a standard form, the video itself indeed has an array of special effects which are sure to give an eye-popping experience in 3-D.
BoA is going to list the song in an album of the same name "Hurricane Venus" which has been released in South Korea on August 5. This effort marks the tenth anniversary of her career debut and becomes her first Korean-language album since 2005 "Girls on Top".
Beside having a new album, BoA reportedly is also set to make acting debut...

Irish music manager Louis Walsh is the least popular X Factor judge, according to Unreality TV’s poll.
An amazing 9,000 of you voted, but Louis only received a paltry 575 votes, which is a pathetic 6% of the vote. But since X Factor only cares about public opinion when there’s a phone vote behind it, Louis will probably return for the 2010 series.
In just the last series, the unpopular judge chose Irish act Jedward despite any obvious talent, gave a two-fingered salute to the studio audience and told a phone in viewer on the Xtra Factor “that’s why I’m a judge on this show and you’re sitting at home watching”. He also snapped a similar comment at presenter Dermot O’Leary during a live show. (Poll results at the end of this post)

Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs' all-girl band Danity Kane have scored a new record on the U.S. albums chart, by becoming the first female group in history to debut at number one with both their debut and second releases.
The band's Welcome To The Dollhouse sold 236,000 copies in its first week on release to rocket to the top of the new countdown.
The feat also lands the girls, who formed for Combs' Making The Band reality series, the second biggest debut of the year so far.
Thrilled Combs says, "Over the past few years, I have not only been on a mission to make the bands, I have been on a mission to build careers. The triumphant number one return of Danity Kane is dramatic proof that we are achieving our goal.
"With Welcome To The Dollhouse, these gifted, beautiful, platinum-selling women have confirmed their enormous talent and undeniable star power."
Hits compilation Now 27 and Rick Ross' Trilla complete the new top three, while rapper Flo Rida's first album, Mail On Sunday, debuts at four.

COLOGNE -- German federal film subsidies board FFA will back sequels to two of the biggest German-language hits in recent years -- the coming-of-age comedy Girls on Top and the children's fantasy film Bibi Blocksberg. The FFA announced Wednesday it has approved an 800,000 ($940,537) grant for Bibi Blocksberg 2, which Bavaria Film is producing with Franziska Buch (Emil and the Detective) attached to direct. The feature, based on the best-selling children's books from German author Theo Schwartz, follows the adventures of Bibi, the youngest in a long line of witches who fight the forces of evil. The first Bibi installment, from director Hermine Huntgeburth, was one of the top-earning German films of 2002, taking in 9.9 million locally.
