This week on The CW’s The Flash, as Barry reconsidered his need for speed, Zoom claimed a victim over on Earth-Two.

Weighing in on Zoom aka Hunter Zololomon’s latest kill, Flash showrunner Andrew Kreisberg says it was simply a case of a doppelganger proving to be redundant. Meaning, Hunter iced Killer Frost because he now has “Jay Garrick’s” actual romantic interest, Earth-One’s Caitlin Snow, in his clutches.

(This column starts off talking about Horace and Pete in relatively general terms, for the benefit of the people who still haven't watched but are curious about sampling it. I'll get to spoilers for the finale midway through, with another warning before that.) Horace and Pete, Louis C.K.'s drama about a Brooklyn bar that's been run by the same family for 100 years, came to an end over the weekend, with even less fanfare than it had on arrival. News of the first episode simply appeared in the inboxes of people on the LouisCK.net email list that just said "Go here to watch it. We hope you like it." Saturday morning, the email read, "I have nothing clever to say. But I would like you very much to know that episode 10 of Horace and Pete is ready right here." That this was going to be the final episode...

It’s ice to meet Nathan Darrow’s Mr. Freeze, but the overcrowded-ness of this mid-season premiere means he’s given short shrift…
This review contains spoilers
2.12 Mr Freeze
Holy lengthy absence, Batman! After a mid-season break of three full months, Gotham season 2 has finally returned to our screens. It’s been so long that it could almost feel like the start of a new season rather than a continuation. That is, if it wasn’t for the eight and a half minutes of recapping that took place at the start of the episode.
The montage of all the villains we’ve already met felt a tad unnecessary, as did the not-yet-followed-up-on scene in which Tabitha and Butch formed an alliance, reminded us that Theo Galavan is dead, and clinked metal things saucily. I can’t help feeling that Jim’s flashback-heavy questioning session with Harvey Dent...

Gotham's mid-season finale was a little lacking in excitement, but gave us some hefty teases of things to come…
Holy mid-season finale, Batman! To get straight to the point – this week’s Gotham episode wasn’t one of my favourites. I’m not trying to slam the series on the whole (indeed, I’ve been enjoying it for the most part), but Worse Than A Crime lacked a certain pizzazz, in my eyes.
It’s difficult to put a finger on exactly why it didn’t ignite my interest, but I guess I just wanted a little bit more excitement after ten episodes of build-up. Finally, the showdown between Bruce Wayne and The Order Of Saint Dumas (TOoSD) has come to pass, but, in terms of actual action and violence, it didn’t amount to much.

Gotham, Season 2, Episode 11, “Worse Than A Crime”
Written by Bruno Heller
Directed by Jeffrey Hunt
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on Fox
The midseason finale closes off the Galavan arc with a bang and kicks the doors wide open for a second half of season two that will take the Rise of the Villains to the next level. The season has been building up to Galavan and his family getting their revenge on Gotham City through the ritual killing of Bruce Wayne, bringing us this week to a fatal showdown between Galavan and a motley crew of police detectives, a crime kingpin, a military trained butler, and a street smart cat burglar, all of whom come to Wayne’s rescue. It’s like watching a western, where a group of lawless rogues unite forces against one common enemy, Theo Galavan.

This week’s Gotham had some great fight scenes, big plot advancements and Batman-like behaviour…
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 The Son Of Gotham
Holy spicy mustard, Batman! If you’re ever in a heated pub discussion with someone who thinks Gotham is more of a police procedural than a Batman prequel, this is the episode to mention when you’re ready to unpick their argument.
Indeed, The Son Of Gotham had heaps of references to DC history. This stellar episode really embraced the visual and storytelling lore of the comics, taking familiar motifs and using them in in some engaging ways.
The Order Of Saint Dumas (TOoSD) arrived with a bang this week, making an immediate impression in that short pre-title-card mugging scene. And here was us thinking that it’d be years before Gotham showed us a darkly dressed figure apprehending a street criminal and disappearing from sight.

This week’s Gotham made up for some dodgy fight scenes with some winning dialogue exhanges…
This review contains spoilers.
2.9 A Bitter Pill To Swallow
Holy climactic cannibal, Batman! This week’s episode of Gotham got a lot of things right, particularly by spending time with its characters rather than rushing from one set piece to the next.
Mixing up the formula a bit, A Bitter Pill To Swallow saw Gotham’s trademarked shoot-out scene brought forward to the middle the episode. This structural shift allowed for dialogue-driven scenes to flow at their own pace on either side of the action, rather than having to ratchet up to a conclusion as you’d usually expect.
Particularly welcome were the moments where Gotham took its time to examine its protagonist’s mental state. After all, there’s often so much going on that Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon...

Thrills, unpredictability and moral dilemmas abound in this excellent episode of Gotham season 2...

2.8 Tonight's The Night
Holy shotgun wedding, Batman! Tonight’s The Night marks one of Gotham’s best episodes to date. Only the mob war episodes at the end of last year and the Jerome trilogy at the start of this season have had a similar level of thrills and unpredictability.
Episodes that hinge on villains needing to kill some time are rarely inspiring instalments of comic book TV shows, but Galavan’s desire to distract Jim this week reaped some seriously impressive results. Galavan sent Barbara to waylay the morally murky detective, enabling Jim’s former fiancée to enact her wedding fantasy that opened the episode in such unsettling style.

This week’s Gotham featured an army of Penguin lookalikes, but not much else to demand our attention…
This review contains spoilers.
2.7 Mommy's Little Monster
Holy handy vending machine, Batman! This week’s Gotham escalated fairly quickly, didn’t it? Within forty-five minutes of the Galavans killing Oswald’s mum, things had developed into a full-blown public shootout featuring plenty of death.
The only problem is this: we’ve seen shoot-outs countless times in Gotham already. Each new iteration of this people-shooting-each-other staple scene needs a truly stand-out hook if it’s going to lodge itself in our memories for long.
Mommy’s Little Monster’s attempted Usp was the huddle of Penguin lookalikes that swarmed the locale to hide Oswald among the crowd. But while this was a nice visual flourish, it wasn’t quite enough to make this episode all that remarkable. The multiple Oswalds were introduced,...

With more twists and turns than the average midseason finale, this week’s Gotham was one of the best yet…
This review contains spoilers.
2.6 By Fire
Holy cliff-hanger, Batman! Despite being placed as the sixth episode of the season, By Fire felt like a midseason finale. That’s mainly because of the whopping revelation at the end; that Wayne Enterprises are in the business of experimenting on ‘monsters.’ Crikey. How’s that for a shock?
We’ve always known that Wayne Enterprises were up to something dodgy, but a bit of insider dealing or black market arms trading or funding a few gangsters is all many might have expected. Deciding to bring them into the ‘testing’ of enhanced people sets them up as a potential equivalent to other evil comic book companies and a genuine overarching adversary for the show going forward.

2.4 Strike Force
Ladies, gentlemen, others – let us discuss this episode! With the opening salvo of interconnected instalments Damned If You Do, Knock Knock and The Last Laugh all wrapped up, there’s a sense that we’re back to Gotham’s status quo with Strike Force.
Penguin was attempting to maintain control, Jim was trying to clean up the Gcpd, Bullock was being a cynic, and Bruce went back to school after his near death experience last week. It was business as usual. We even had a shootout involving Jim and Victor Zsasz, just like old times.
Of course, not every episode can be one of theatrics and dramatic rug-pull death scenes. Some of them are just connective tissue – gradually eking out character arcs,...

Reprising his role from Batman Returns, Paul Reubens will play the Penguin’s father in Gotham season 2…
Here’s an unlikely one.
Do you remember the brief scene where Paul Reubens – better known as the comedian Pee-wee Herman – played the Penguin’s father in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns?
If you don’t, you can watch it here…
Here’s the good part – Mr Reubens will play the same role in Gotham season 2. The news was broken at New York Comic Con, where Oswald Cobblepot actor Robin Lord Taylor exclaimed "Pee-wee Herman is playing my dad! What the hell? Oh, my God!”
This news is brilliant on several levels. Not only does Reubens seem like a perfect for the role, but this is also a massive tip of the cap to Tim Burton’s Bat-movies. At times, you can see their gothic stylistic influence on the show,...

The Last Laugh is Gotham’s best episode yet, with a great script and some hefty shocks…
This review contains spoilers.
2.3 The Last Laugh
The Last Laugh promised us a lot. As the third part of the ‘Rise Of The Villains’ trilogy that has started season two, it had the small task of following two of the best Gotham episodes ever. Also, we were promised a magician several times.
And, boy oh boy, that promise was fulfilled. By putting Cameron Monaghan at centre stage and giving him a truly theatrical and twisted scheme to enact, writer John Stephens has crafted Gotham’s best episode yet. As the scribe who also penned my least favourite episode ever, The Balloonman, that’s quite a turnaround.
The set-up for this episode was simple enough: Jim is on the hunt for Jerome, but by rejecting a social invitation from Leigh, he actually nearly misses his next attention-seeking criminal activity.

Cameron Monaghan gets even more Joker-y in this clip from Gotham season 2's The Last Laugh...
He's quick becoming our favourite thing about Gotham, and he's only appeared in three episodes so far. We're talking, of course, about Cameron Monaghan's potential proto-Joker Jerome.
A clip from season 2 episode 3, The Last Laugh, has popped up online. It showcases Jerome at his cackling, intimidating best, as he has a little chat with his neglectful father (last seen in season 1's The Blind Fortune-Teller).
Here it is...

Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome ups his criminal game in this week’s rip-roaring episode of Gotham…

2.2 Knock, Knock
Holy school bus petrol bomb, Batman! This week’s Gotham is one of the show’s best episodes yet. We’ve been encouraged to think of these opening three episodes of season two as a trilogy, and with that in mind Knock, Knock makes for a stellar second act.
Once again stealing the show is Cameron Monaghan’s proto-Joker, Jerome. He’s now incredibly comfortable in the role and continues to impress with every return that he makes. Although the rest of the Maniax – save for Barbara – are irritatingly underdeveloped, Monaghan has stepped into the unhinged ringleader role with some real gusto.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Coco Rocha took to Instagram on Monday to fight back against the haters who felt the need to criticize the new mom for bottle-feeding daughter Ioni. "It happens to every mom at different times. She's been on formula for a few weeks now and seems to be doing just fine. Greg Berlanti's latest has Jaimie Alexander as an amnesiac special agent, but the pilot is less memory mystery, more generic procedural...
This review contains spoilers.
1.1 Pilot
With Thor and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Jaimie Alexander as its protagonist and Arrow/The Flash/Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti involved behind the scenes, NBC’s new thriller Blindspot certainly has a lot going for it. Judging by the pilot, they’ve managed to come up with something decent, if a little constrained by the demands of network telly.
Essentially Bourne meets Memento, Blindspot wastes no time putting its constituent parts together. Within minutes, Alexander’s Jane Doe is found in a holdall in Times Square without memories, clothes or a discernable purpose, clad in mysterious tattoos – one of which is the name of Sullivan Stapleton’s character, Kurt Waller, of the FBI.

Sad news, UK Bat-fans - Channel 5 has announced that Gotham won’t return to British shores until 2016…
Here’s an odd one – even though Gotham season 2 has already kicked off in the USA, we won’t get it on UK screens until 2016.
We don’t have a definite date yet, but, even if it airs on New Year's Day, we’ll still be over three months behind the American broadcast speed.
This surprising news broke on Twitter, where the official GothamOn5 account posted a Tweet that reads like this: “UK fans, season two of #Gotham will be shown on @channel5_tv in 2016.”
In the age of online streaming, simulcasts and social media spoilers, over three months is a long time to wait for the episodes to travel across the pond. There’s been no reason for this delay clarified by Fox, Warner Bros. or Channel 5.
In the meantime, our review...

Murder! Zaardon! Cheese toasty references! Gotham is back with a bang in this off-kilter season 2 opener…
This review contains spoilers.
2.1 Damned If You Do
Holy Zaardon’s gas bomb, Batman! Gotham’s season two premiere certainly made an impact this week, even if it’s not entirely clear which incarnation of Batman the show is trying to prequel-ise.
On the one hand, the grim discussion between Jim, Bruce and Alfred that sometimes the only ‘right way’ is also the ‘ugly way’ lends itself to a darker, Frank Miller-inspired, Nolan-esque portrayal of Batman's origin tale.
The opening shot of the season – a bolt of lightning above Wayne Manor – certainly supports this idea, conjuring memories of seminal moody Miller comic book run, The Dark Knight Returns, where a violent and vengeful Batman re-embraced the cowl on a dark, stormy night.
Meanwhile, over at Arkham, we have broad comedy beats playing...

In the season 2 premiere of Gotham, "Rise of the Villains: Damned If You Do...," with nowhere else to turn, Gordon goes to Penguin for a favor, Bruce learns more about Thomas' extracurricular activities, Barbara poses a threat to Lee and a couple of new threats emerge.
Season 2 picks up right where the season 1 finale left off, with Bruce and Alfred descending the staircase to Thomas' apparent secret lair. At the bottom of the dank staircase, there is an ominous-looking metal door that requires a password or code to enter. Bruce makes a few attempts, but Alfred points out the millions of possible combinations, and Bruce is left frustrated and stumped.

Fox has released a brand new banner for season two of Gotham, and as you can see, it features the heroes and villains of the series as they gear up for another year of stories which will see them all get ever closer to the characters we know from the comic books.
Jim Gordan, Bruce Wayne, and The Penguin look set to once again be the focal point of Gotham, something which is no bad thing based on the events of the first season.

Though it was by no means perfect, Fox’s debut season of Gotham planted the roots of an origin story, focusing less on The Caped Crusader and more on Detective James Gordon’s unyielding fight for justice in the grimy DC city. Perhaps more so than its predecessor, season 2 of Fox’s live-action series will only up the ante for Ben McKenzie’s world-weary detective, and the official plot synopsis for September’s premiere only drives that point home.
We’ve long heard that Gotham‘s sophomore outing would bring about the Rise of the Villains – spearheaded by Robin Lord Taylor’s Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin – and its opening episode, titled ‘Damned if you do…’ will put Jim Gordon’s moral to the test.

With Failure to Connect, we asked our writers what games they were unable to connect with, regardless of their fiscal and critical success. For the month of May we will attempt to explore this issue in detail on a case by case basis.
I played the first two Fable games without mercy. I loved the story, the characters, the combat, the writing. They were great games, and they will always remain that way. Then, Fable III was announced, and they had this grand promise of “be the King”, and that was what drew me in. But what should have been an experience that rooted me to my seat, left me questioning my decisions, while forcing me to play through it again really only left me with a feeling of ‘oh’.

Damned If You Do: Garcia’s Creepy House Horror a Non-Entity
For some strange reason, IFC Midnight decided to release direct-to-dvd pro Victor Garcia’s latest film, The Damned (originally, and more colorfully titled Gallows Hill) in theaters, even though its questionable quality clearly doesn’t support such conviction. Tiredly cliché and doggedly dull, its existence begs one to inquire, who the hell is the audience for these lifeless films, filled with cheap flourishes and routines so commonplace that you can sleepwalk through its checklist of events?
David (Peter Facinelli), an estranged father attempts to retrieve his daughter Jill (Nathalia Ramos) in Bogota, where she is vacationing with her aunt (Carolina Guerra) and a cameraman (Sebastian Martinez) turned boyfriend. About to be remarried, this time to his fiancée, Lauren (Sophia Myles), there’s vague tension between father and daughter relating to the mysterious death of Jill’s mother. A...

It’s weird having that feeling that a game owes you something, especially after you’ve put hundreds and hundreds of hours into it, or paid for something that turns out to be different to what was advertised.
Maybe it does, maybe plonking down your hard earned cash and succumbing to a few twilight-shift game sessions means that game developers should endeavour to provide something that would please as many people as possible?
Of course they don’t though, and it turns into a case of “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t”, as on the one hand should developers be free to pull the narrative rug out from under you at a moment’s notice, thereby going down in the history books regardless? Or should rigorous beta testing and Qa sessions iron out all the kinks and provide them with a clear picture of what’ll work best for everyone,...

After staring at my movie collection trying to come up with an article idea (secrets revealed), I noticed a lot of coming of age stories. Growing up in a 90 minutes or so movie is no easy feat and these movies often deal with confusing, heartbreaking and even exhilarating time in our lives. They make sense of all the motions of a kid, show guidance in one form or another; they depict turning points in our lives that are all too common and relatable.
The spring is here folks, it’s time to get outside on your bikes, head to summer camp, make new friends, find trouble, get out of a pickle or steal a first kiss. But if you’re like me and have grown up into a life of responsibilities, there’s always nostalgia.

Gibbs is about to kill someone; and the rest of his team has resigned. Perhaps this wasn't as dramatic a cliffhanger as the end of NCIS Season 9, but it still rates as fascinating. And at least Ducky isn't out on a beach somewhere dying, so there's that.
Dod Investigator Parsons isn't through with Gibbs yet either. And we have to wait until the fall to see how it all goes down. Looks like the writers have done a brilliant job at keeping us on the hook.
That said, it's time to take a look back at NCIS Season 10. Read on for more in this TV Fanatic Report Card...

1. How would you describe this week in one word (or two, or three, or four)?
Doug: Together in separation.
Christine: Walk away.
Steve: Unconventional.
2. What was your favorite quote or scene from "Damned If You Do?"
Doug: I actually laughed out loud when Franks started shooting the fish. The grin on Gibbs' face was pretty cool to see too.
Christine: Admiral Aj Chegwidden! As a fan of Jag, the show NCIS spun off from, I was positively giddy when he walked in as Gibbs attorney. These two are kindred spirits. Heck, "Aj" even stands for Albert Jethro!

With familiar faces from the past, dramatic endings and hints of the future, "Damned If You Do," closed out the 10th season of "NCIS" Tuesday (May 14). It also showed why this series just keeps on going -- it reveres its past while not being afraid to blow things up.
The episode opens with a dream sequence in which Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is fishing with his late mentor, Mike Franks (Muse Watson, proving once again that death is no impediment to ongoing guest appearances). After some talk about the inadequacies of catch-and-release fishing, Franks pumps gunshots into the water. He vanishes, but Gibbs soon finds himself surrounded by floating bodies that just keep rising to the surface.

This was such a fascinating and frustrating NCIS episode, all at once.
The plot for "Damned If You Do" carried on from last week's tense beginning, with Inspector General investigator Richard Parsons gathering evidence in his efforts to have Gibbs indicted. His motivation was captured by this statement:
Parsons: I believe in upholding the law, Gibbs. And I'm tired of watching you break it. | permalink
Turned out that Parsons wasn't nearly as altruistic about the law as he portrayed himself. Tony told Gibbs about evidence they found, which proved Parsons was a sleazy narcissist who kissed upper management rings while doubling as a blackmail artist.
As the hour went on, Parsons finally put his finger on the one thing that could bring Gibbs down: his revenge murder of Pedro Hernandez, the man who killed Gibbs' wife and daughter. The only problem was the missing forensic report from Abby - which...

At the end of last week's NCIS, we learned who Richard Parsons' real target was.
Now, in a sneak preview of this evening's Season 10 finale, we find out why.
Any NCIS fan knows Gibbs is a man who isn't afraid to bend (or flat-out break) the rules to get the job done, so it's not a huge surprise that his track record has come under scrutiny.
Still, it's interesting to watch Colin Hanks' character, a clearly ambitious Dod investigator, lay his motivations on the table like he does here, and make Gibbs the "offer" that he does.
Jethro's response is typical of the man. But how our fearless leader fight back?

Next week, on the Season 10 finale of NCIS, loyalty will be on trial.
The hunt for Eli David and Jackie Vance's killer turns into a witch hunt against Gibbs and the team, whose unconventional methods may threaten their entire future at the agency they've given so much too.
If Dod investigator Richard Parsons (Colin Hanks) has his way, Leroy Jethro Gibbs' time at NCIS may come to an end. But we all know Gibbs, and know he does not intend to go down without a fight.
His late mentor Mike Franks (Muse Watson) even returns to guide him.
As we discussed in our NCIS review, the writers, through Parsons' complex "Evil McGee" character, played fans like a tune last night, with Ziva, Vance and ultimately Gibbs in the proverbial crosshairs.

That Agent Ziva David has embarked on a dangerous, season-ending mission to avenge her father’s death while portrayer Cote de Pablo is the only cast member not yet set to return to NCIS in the fall is pure coincidence, says showrunner Gary Glasberg.
“I have absolutely no qualms telling you that this storyline” — launched by the double murder of Eli David and NCIS director Leon Vance’s wife Jackie — “is something I was talking about last spring,” Glasberg asserts to TVLine.

Under normal circumstances – those being any circumstance that does not involve a megalomaniac scientist intent on dominating a secret ancient race of supernatural beings who has kidnapped your unwitting not-an-ex, just-on-a-break girlfriend because of her breakthrough biochemical research – I would say don’t break into your girlfriend’s apartment after she specifically asks you for space. But, luckily for Bo, these are not those circumstances. Though bringing your ex to help you save your maybe-not-quite ex is, um, an interesting touch.
So Bo breaks in with Dyson in tow only to find an empty apartment and Lauren’s Blackberry. Yeah, I know – I have no idea why anyone would leave her cellphone at home. I left mine there one day last week accidentally and I felt like I was missing my left arm all day at work. Shut up, it’s not an addiction. I can quit anytime I want.

Story 1: A boy runs in the park and is chased, then beaten with a baseball bat, even after he begs for his life. A set of shoe prints are visible in the snow. Mac (Gary Sinise) "Lucky for us it happened out here: best investigative tool money can't buy: snow." Mac 'cooks' up some pure sulphur. Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) paints the prints. Mac pours the sulphur over them to get a cast. A broken baseball bat is also found and Stella finds tyre tracks. The Vic was Paul Montenassi (nick Di Brizzi Jnr). Cod was blunt force trauma and has a tattoo on his back, which has been scraped or sawed. High velocity blood spatter is present on his face. In story 2: Marta Santo is found dead, with suspicious skid marks at the Cs and silver paint is seen on a red car. The flakes have been dried in.
