Exclusive: Scot Cru has left Grb Studios, the producer and distributor best known for its long-running A&E reality hit Intervention.
I hear that Cru has departed the company less than six months after he was promoted to president. He joined the business, which was formerly known as Grb Entertainment in July 2018 after spending 15 years working for Mark Burnett’s production company, most recently as Executive Vice President, International for United Artist Media.
It’s not clear exactly for what Cru will do next, which Gary R. Benz, founder and CEO of Grb, told Deadline that he was leaving for a bigger role.
Benz told Deadline, “When Scott left Grb Studios he told me he was heading to work for a larger company. We appreciate his time here and wish him great luck in his new endeavors. Grb Studios will be attending Miptv next week with a full sales team, and announcing a new international co-production.

When, oh when, will filmmakers learn that it’s more fun to play a video game than watch a movie designed to resemble one? Following on the heels of last year’s resounding flop Hardcore Henry is Tim Smit’s feature Kill Switch, based on his 2009 short film that went viral. Starring Dan Stevens — who, judging by this and his FX series Legion, has clearly developed a taste for science fiction — Kill Switch is a visually imaginative but narratively incoherent exercise that provides viewers the unwelcome opportunity to feel what it’s like to watch a video game being played by someone...

Unlimited energy would be an unbelievable discovery, and in Tim Smit‘s “Kill Switch,” the miraculous breakthrough is made. However, there are dire consequences for the man who unleashes this scientific phenomenon on the world.
Starring Dan Stevens, Bérénice Marlohe, Tygo Gernandt, and Charity Wakefield, “Kill Switch” is set in a future version of the world, where an experiment for unlimited energy, harnessing parallel universes, goes wrong.

Today we published the 100 Best Sci-Fi Films Of All Time, with each selection pushing the boundaries or offering something inventive in the overstuffed genre. Marking the opposite end of the spectrum is “Kill Switch,” which looks fairly disposable despite a pretty decent cast.
Dan Stevens, “Skyfall” Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe and Charity Wakefield star in this film from Dutch director Tim Smit, which tells the (cautionary?) tale about a hunt for unlimited energy that goes dangerously awry.

"It's something that could change the world." What Is this movie?! Saban Films has unveiled a full-length trailer for the unique sci-fi feature Kill Switch (not related to the Steven Seagal action film Kill Switch). This is based on a Pov concept short film called What's in the Box?, which a visual effects supervisor has turned into a feature film. Dan Stevens stars as a pilot who heads into another dimension (created by an energy experiment gone wrong) to save Earth. Also starring Charity Wakefield and Bérénice Marlohe. I really don't know what's going on, but it does seem very cool. This looks like it's half video game, and half movie combined into one, and I'm not sure it's going to work. But I'm definitely curious anyway. Get ready. Here's the full-length trailer (+ poster) for Tim Smit's Kill Switch, direct from YouTube (via Tmb): You can also still...

Dan Stevens is trying to save his family in this first trailer for Kill Switch, but is he the enemy? To be honest I have no idea as this trailer shows us so many things with no real context whatsoever and the film description (via Slashfilm) isn't much help:
Acclaimed writer-director Tim Smit explodes on to the scene with his futuristic, VFX-heavy feature debut! Kill Switch charts the story of a pilot battling to save his family and the planet, based on Smit’s short What’s In The Box?
Check out the first trailer for the film below, and check this one out on Demand and in select theaters June 16th. Also be sure to check out What's In The Box below that!

Dan Stevens is definitely having a moment. The "Downton Abbey" star had been a familiar commodity since before his time on the period drama but that show really landed him on the map. Not long after leaving the show he came out swinging for the genre fences with a memorable turn in Adam Wingard's The Guest and he's been popping up everywhere since then.
One of the many projects on his docket is Kill Switch (not to be confused with the Steven Seagal masterpiece of the same name), the directorial debut of VFX artist Tim Smit.
The sci-fi actioner stars Stevens as Will Porter, a pilot who fights to save his family after an experiment to create unlimited energy goes wrong. If you managed to get any of that plotting from the trailer, you're definitely reading some sublimi [Continued ...]...

Dan Stevens has been a busy man these past few years, evidenced by the debut trailer for one of the many projects on his docket: sci-fi action film Kill Switch. However, the trailer showcases a rather unconventional effort with cinematography so reminiscent of a first-person-shooter video game, you’d think that this was a trailer for a movie adaptation of Half-Life. For the record, it’s not.

"This is the opportunity to explore impossible frontiers." What the heck is this? Saban Films has released a very weird teaser trailer for a sci-fi film titled Kill Switch (not related to the Steven Seagal action film Kill Switch). This one is actually based on a Pov concept short film called What's in the Box?, which a visual effects supervisor has turned into a feature-length film. And it still has some video game-esque Pov shots in it. Dan Stevens stars, with Charity Wakefield, and Bérénice Marlohe. I don't even know what is going on in this trailer, only that Dan Stevens plays a pilot, and there's very weird sci-fi stuff happening. Fire it up. Visual FX supervisor Tim Smit makes his directorial debut with the high concept, futuristic thriller Kill Switch starring Dan Stevens (The Guest). The film is based on Smit's own short film, What's in the Box. Set in the future, the video game style plot follows an experiment for unlimited energy, harnessing parallel universes, which goes wrong. Chased by drones and soldiers, Stevens and a physicist must race through an imploding world to get the Redivider box to a tower, which will save humanity, including his family, in the real world. I have to admit I like the idea of an imploding reality as a mechanism for both a race-against-time element as well as an opportunity for interesting visual effects. I can't help but get a...
