In the early planning days for Season 3 of “Only Murders in the Building,” showrunner John Hoffman and the rest of the writing team knew the Hulu comedy’s central trio would have to butt heads.
At the end of Tuesday’s episode, Oliver (Martin Short) wipes away the ‘f—ing pig’ message left on Ben Glenroy’s (Paul Rudd) mirror in an effort to protect Loretta (Meryl Streep). He immediately gets into a heated argument with Mabel (Selena Gomez) and Charles (Steve Martin) over his decision. The conversation, which reveals Charles punched Ben on the night of the murder and Mabel was being courted by Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), ends with Charles quitting “Death Rattle Dazzle” and Mabel leaving to investigate Ben’s death on her own.
Hoffman said that the fight was a “big moment” and a “very crux point” for the trio that audiences hadn’t seen before.

In “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3, Meryl Streep plays Loretta Durkin, a struggling actress who is cast in Oliver Putnam’s (Martin Short) new musical “Death Rattle Dazzle.”
And while the season has been slowly pulling back the layers of Loretta, production designer Patrick Howe and showrunner John Hoffman revealed to TheWrap that there was more information about her character that was ultimately left on the cutting room floor.
“My original information that I had to go on for designing a small modest studio apartment is that she lived there for 40 years, she was a gift wrapper at Macy’s, very modest means, always trying to get acting jobs and never landing anything more than a small, off, off, off Broadway part,” Howe told TheWrap. “And so we filmed all this footage of her wrapping gifts and at the Macy’s gift wrap department but then decided to just...

The Worsleys’ lives are about to be turned upside down when Breeders returns to FX for its fourth and final season.
In the dark comedy’s new trailer (the season premieres Monday, July 31 at 10/9c with its first two of 10 episodes), Paul and Ally’s offspring have some big announcements to make. Not only is Luke moving out of the family’s condo, but his girlfriend is pregnant! (Did we mention there’s a five-year time jump?) Meanwhile, Ava cops feelings for her granddad’s (female) hairdresser, and Paul and Ally harbor a secret of their own from their kids.

Getting back into the first-time host groove, this week’s “Saturday Night Live” brought in “Only Murders in the Building’s” Selena Gomez to do the honors.
Host: Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez’s monologue was quite charming, and by the end she had the live audience eating out the palm of her hand as she sang the “Barney” theme song. Seriously. She even bust out a solid Miley Cyrus impression, making for the first of two great “accent” moments in the episode from her. (The other was in “Irish Play.”)
Then after revealing the advice she got from her legendary co-stars and friends Steve Martin and Martin Short, Gomez set out to do what all “SNL” cast members hope the host will do: She tried to find romance. While the live audience definitely seemed to want her to end up with Punkie Johnson, sadly, that was not what the sketch “Intuition” ended up being about.

Grey's Anatomy remains a powerhouse for ABC in the ratings, but the beloved series could be reaching its conclusion.
The series is entering its 18th (!!!) season next month, and naturally, many things have been left up in the air.
A renewal for Season 18 wasn't even a sure thing due to ongoing talks between Ellen Pompeo and the network about whether she would return.
Below, we've rounded up everything we know about Grey's Anatomy Season 18.
Grey's Anatomy Season 18 Could be the Final Season
It's sad, but it's true. The series is reaching its end sooner rather than later.
Pompeo has been vocal about the show potentially ending at any point in recent years, so the future is not confirmed until it nabs renewals these days.
From a rating standpoint, the show could thrive for several years yet. It makes a lot of money for Disney, both domestically and internationally.

Grey's Anatomy is not coming to an end.
The hit ABC medical drama has been renewed for Season 18, according to Deadline.
Thankfully for fans, Ellen Pompeo has inked a new deal to remain on the top-rated medical drama for another year.
The future has been in doubt for the series as negotiations continued, but with it emerging that the upcoming season finale would be written to function as a potential series-ender, fans have wondered whether the was near.
There was a longstanding deal between Pompeo and creator Shonda Rhimes to end the series when Ellen exits.
Pompeo's new deal is for one year, meaning that Season 18 could be the end unless an extension or a new deal is made down the line.
Fellow original stars Chandra Wilson and James Pickens have closed new deals to return.
It was recently revealed that Jessie Williams is bowing out of his Jackson Avery role after 12 seasons.
