These days it's tough to find reasons to be cheerful about the state of the nation – but an America without Duck Dynasty is a good place to start. No show in television history has ever sucked quite like this one. And if the TV gods are willing, no show ever will.
A&E's massive hit became a cultural presence in 2012 for its down-home charm – the zany adventures of a real-life Lousiana clan who kept their country manners and backwoods habits, with Phil, Miss Kay, their bearded sons and loopy Vietnam vet Uncle Si.

Duck Dynasty: The Musical is officially theater-bound! Considering Broadway is pretty gay -- or at least, gay-friendly -- and considering what duck patriarch Phil Robertson has said in the past about homosexuality leading to bestiality, it may seem like an odd fit.
Until you find out it’s actually a Vegas musical. That makes more sense.
The Duck Commander Musical is a “modern-day Beverly Hillbillies story” about a “backwoods family” that strikes it rich. Don’t expect a satire or tell-all either, the Roberston family had script and casting approval.

Duck Dynasty has been a lovely show for A&E, even though most people either loved or hated it. The show performed well for the first 5 seasons, even breaking the network’s (and cable) ratings for their fall season premier. However, all good things had to come to the end. Thanks to Phil Robertson’s comments being taken in and out of context in a magazine, it ruined the series credibility. However, the series has brought in decent views when you consider season 6′s premier brought in 4.6 million views. No word on if the series will get to see another duck hunting season on TV or not.
I personally have enjoyed the show and would hate to see it get cancelled. I think A&E still has a huge hit on their hands, but they are not promoting it as much as they used to. Thus, the series of course in turn gets lower views.

Original Post: There’s more pop-watching at this year’s Kentucky Derby than just spying celebrities wearing fancy, oversized hats and sipping Mint Juleps.
For instance, Danza (pictured), described as a “tough colt,” is named for Who’s the Boss actor Tony Danza. The horse’s father is named Street Boss, and a round of brainstorming led owners to the names Who’s the Boss, then Tony Micelli, Danza’s character on the show. Neither name was approved; they settled on simply Danza.

Another season of "Duck Dynasty" is in the books and the hour-long Season 5 finale on Wednesday (Mar. 26) was a little out of the ordinary. Sure, there were a couple of good Jase vs. Willie zingers (the epic toast and pizza wrestling match!), but at the heart of this episode was a little girl who wanted a party.
Stand by Mia
Mia Robertson, Jase and Missy's daughter, is facing her fifth surgery to address her cleft lip and palate. Poor thing. While Jase can be a little rough around the edges, he's a big old softie when it comes to his kids. Just the look in his eyes when he's talking with her will make you melt. Before her surgery, Jase and Missy give her the option to do whatever she wants as a big send off. After hearing about some famous Uncle Willie and Daddy wrestling matches, she chooses a big family reunion,...

After Phil Robertson said the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person (to wit: his opinion of homosexuals, the 21st century, a GQ reporter), there were many people calling for his suspension (which happened), his reinstatement (which also happened) and the end of "Duck Dynasty" (which didn't). While ratings represented a year-over-year dip when the show returned for a fifth season in January, 8.5 million viewers are nothing to sneeze at, especially for a basic cable show. This week the show lured in under 5 million viewers, again making it the most-watched basic cable show by a landslide. Not bad, but less than half of the 11.8 million that was the series' high watermark. I watched last night, and it's easy to see why "Duck Dynasty" became a breakout hit in the first place. Yes, it's as scripted as any other reality show, probably more so (that isn't a shock to anybody at this point,...

Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson and his wife Korie are happy to be known as members of reality TV’s best-known religious family.
Willie, Korie Robertson On 'God's Not Dead'
The Robertson family made a fortune by selling duck calling devices out of their establishment in Monroe, La. With Duck Dynasty, the family has received a considerable amount of fame, which they’ve parlayed into other ventures – including New York Times bestsellers, and a Christmas album. Soon, Willie and Korie will be seen in feature film God’s Not Dead.
“God's blessed us with a lot of opportunities at this point,” Willie told FOX411. “Just like the movie God's Not Dead, there's that element of faith that you have to have faith.”
In God’s Not Dead, a reporter approaches the couple as they’re leaving church. The reporter asks the pair for their thoughts on people criticizing...

It's "Duck Dynasty" night on Wednesday (Mar. 19), and we get to hang out with Sadie Robertson, which is a far cry from the usual amount of hair involved on this show.
Sadie Goes to Work
Take Your Business Student to Work Day! Sadie arrives to shadow the back-breaking tasks at Duck Commander, and as usual, the work-ethic clash between her dad and uncle continues to rage. But we learn she does have a decent jump shot during the usual warehouse basketball game.
Anyone get a memory glimpse of retro "Teen Wolf" when Jase is playing basketball? All that hair. Moving on.
Jase, the self-proclaimed idea man, pulls out his best one ever -- the cow blind. A giant fake cow head to be used to hide in in order to fool ducks. They camouflage it up, with some serious crazy eyes, take it out and, much to Willie's chagrin, actually get a few ducks.

It's "Duck Dynasty" night on Wednesday (Mar. 5), and if you don't know how to put together a reasonable duck blind by the end of tonight's episode, you aren't paying attention.
Playhouse or Fort or ... Duck Blind?
Jep has one day to build his kids a playhouse, but he has an injured wrist. Against his better judgment (that is, Jase convinces him otherwise,) he lets Jase and the warehouse gang build it for him. Sort of. Because Jep is all high on pain meds so he takes a nap in the truck, leaving the workers to their own devices.
Unsurprisingly, Jase, Godwin and Martin build something that looks like a fort crossed with a covered duck blind. Phil says, "it looks like something you throw the prisoners in when you want to punish them for about a month." And Jess is not happy. Not exactly what she wants in the backyard.

If you weren't eating ice cream while watching "Duck Dynasty" on Wednesday (Feb. 26), you will want to after you finish reading this.
Jase goes all-terrain
Willie installs an ice cream machine in his office, to motivate his team. Everyone gets ice cream for doing good work. Jase and Si, however, think it's silly, childish blackmail, andthey're not children. The others disagree. They like the ice cream. I could go for some right now, but I digress.
What does motivate a grown man? The fancy "Argo Amphibious Atv" all-terrain vehicle, or "the ultimate redneck chariot" as Jase calls it, when he pulls up in it like a god. Admittedly, it's a cool machine. Eight wheels, seats a bunch of people and it can go on water and over land.
Jase says it's for the use of the warehouse crew only, within a point system -- each assembled duck call is between 1 and 10 points,...

The Robertson family of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, which owns the highly successful Duck Commander company, will serve as a bowl sponsor for the next 6 years.
Duck Commander Independence Bowl
Duck Commander, based out of Monroe, La., will be the title sponsor of the Shreveport, La.-based Independence Bowl from 2014-2019, reported Espn. Held at Independence Stadium, the bowl game isn’t far off from Louisiana Tech University, where Phil Robertson competed for the quarterback spot with NFL legend Terry Bradshaw.
Traditionally, the Independence Bowl pairs squads that compete in the SEC and Acc conferences. However, if there isn’t an eligible representative, the bowl game can pick up teams from lesser football conferences, Conference USA and the American.
The Robertsons have already waded into athletic sponsorship. They recently revealed that their family business Duck Commander would sponsor a Nascar Sprint Cup Series race. For the next few years,...

The biggest controversy surrounding this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition isn't about who's gracing the highly coveted cover, which was unveiled on Thursday (Feb. 13) ... it's about the plastic featured inside the issue.
When the magazine decided to make Barbie the focus of a spread inside the issue, it sparked outrage in many. Parents were scandalized that Si was sexualizing a children's toy while readers were disgusted that a magazine that usually celebrates strong, healthy women would advertise an unattainable body shape.
On Friday (Feb. 14), the hosts of "Good Morning America" debated whether or not Sports Illustrated made a mistake in featuring Barbie in the swimsuit issue. Do you agree that the doll should have been kept out of the magazine?...

"Duck Dynasty" is back with "Burger Commander" on Wednesday (Feb. 5)
Willie and The Redneck 'Emeril Lagasse' cook meat
After having lunch from the local burger joint, Willie and Jase get into a spat over who makes the better burger. They decide to have a showdown to see who is the better chef (not burger "eater" as Jase clarifies, slamming Willie.)
It's a burger-off!
They head to the local store for ingredients, where Jase pesters the butcher into grinding up some ribeyes for his burgers and Willlie buys "meat from a tube," as Jase notes snidely. Back at the warehouse, they man their grills. It's like the showdown in "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" but with a lot of meat.
In the end, Willie's "Super Stack" burger is a "mountain o' beef," as Martin puts it. He and Godwin actually look scared of it, and declare that there's "too much going on.

One thing you never do is criticize another man’s burger. The ‘Duck Dynasty’ bros had mad beef on Feb. 5 and had to settle it the old fashioned way — with a Deep South cook-off!
Because the guys of Duck Dynasty have conquered the world, they only have themselves to turn on now. It started on Feb. 5, when Willie and Jase Robertson took their sibling rivalry up a notch by going all Top Chef and challenging each other to a cook-off. And with the boys doing their best Emeril impressions and Uncle Si becoming Padma Lakshmi, this episode was full of memorable quotes. Here are my favorite ones.
‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 5 Episode 5: The 5 Best Quotes
“If I had this thing in high school — you talk about doin’ some math!” – Si Robertson
Uncle Si was talking about the benefits of his digital wristwatch of course but Wait – Si went to high school!

Before we dive in to the Louisiana hijinks of Wednesday's (Jan. 29) episode of "Duck Dynasty," did you hear Willie was at the "State of the Union" address? Yes, that happened
Anyway, back to tonight's "From Duck 'Til Dawn."
Alarm and Hammer
The warehouse bunch needs to pull an all-nighter to fulfill a big order. Jase says he likes staying up all night because it's "easier to maintain the monotony of putting together duck calls when you're a little loopy." Loopier than normal, that is. Willie tries to be "one of the guys" but he just doesn't fit in with them; Jase says Willie "cramps his style."
If Willie cramps Jase's style, a random high-pitched chirp from a smoke detector is even worse. Jase and Willie spend most of the night hunting the culprit, which gets ceremoniously stomped into pieces by Jase. Willie ends up falling asleep during the all-nighter and...

A few things were revealed during the Jan. 29 episode of ‘Duck Dynasty’ that weren’t particularly surprising: that technology and the Robertsons aren’t best friends, and that Phil Robertson tells the scariest ghost stories.
I live in a three-bedroom apartment and I am in a constant battle with my smoke detector, so I could sympathize with the hell Willie and Jase Robertson and the rest of the Duck Commander office were going through in the Jan. 29 episode of Duck Dynasty when a detector derailed their last-minute order. And I wasn’t surprised at all that the man vs. technology showdown yielded some of the best quotes of the season. Let’s relive them below.

Uncle Si’s ultimate takeover of ‘Duck Dynasty’ continued on Jan. 22, with the old geezer strapping a camera to his head to give the audience a little point-of-view action. And yes, it was just as ridiculous as it sounds.
Technology has turned on us — no one should ever have to know what it’s like to be in the mind of Duck Dynasty‘s Uncle Si. But the Jan. 22 episode went there when the bespectacled one learned what a GoPro camera was. Elsewhere, Willie Robertson and the kids had a roadside picnic (natch). As we do, let’s count down the best things we heard during all this West Monroe mayhem.

The main event of this week's "Duck Dynasty" is that Uncle Si sees the guys watching a video of a guy riding a bike with a helmet cam and Si decides he should wear one and show everybody the world through his eyes.
Life of Si
Jase says, "No one wants to see the world through the eyes of Si Robertson," but we beg to differ, dude. A kinda cuckoo 65-year-old who needs help recording something on the Vcr? We absolutely want to see a day in the life of that man.
Si says he's "part Six Million Dollar Man, part Robocop." Or it's like the crazy miner from a "Scooby-Doo" episode got himself a camera.
"I gotta tell the folks back home what's goin' on," says Si, as they traipse out into the woods. "You realize that's not hooked up to a satellite, nobody's watchin' that right now?" responds Jep.
