Kelly Clarkson just performed her new single on the Cma Music Festival the other night, and now she has released a music video for "Tie It Up" -- and fittingly, it has a wedding theme. Lee DeWyze's new album hasn't dropped yet, but you can listen to every song for free right now. Also in today's Roundup, both Kellie Pickler and Haley Reinhart have each debuted new songs -- and Casey Abrams lends a hand for his fellow season 10 finalist.

1. Ok, Jimmy Iovine is ripping apart the judges. Which is impressive because they're all made of taffy.
2. He's ripping the contestants too! Jimmy Iovine on Burnell: "This whole thing about not knowing Beatles songs puts me off a bit." Oh no, not a put-off turtle man in a backwards cap!
3. On Lazaro: "The worst [performance] of the night!" But probably only the second-worst blazer!
4. Amber's rehearsal footage where she gets lost in the stage fog is hilarious. She Is So Endearing. More than Janelle, America. Respect!
5. Devin, Paul Jolley, Lazaro and Burnell "sing" a version of the Beatles' "Got to Get You Into My Life" live. I would call it horrible, except it appears they're just lip-syncing for the most part. And then screeching little solo parts at no one in particular.
6. Seacrest tells Paul Jolley that the town of Dresden, Tennessee has declared an official Paul Jolley Day! Hooray! But...

Former “American Idols” Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams are in a frisky, holiday mood as thy duet on the wintertime classic “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” It’s a sweet, jazzy video that we think the Gap should immediately appropriate for its Christmas campaign. The video comes a day after fellow season 10 finalist Paul McDonald released his duet with his wife, “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed on a sweet, country-flavored tune called “Now That I Found You.” [More after the jump...] Reinhart, who is working on her debut album for Interscope, and Abrams sound nice here, but we like this song when there’s...

Jack Black & Casey Abrams knocked it out of the ballpark when they sang Queen’s, ”Fat Bottomed Girls.” What a hilarious performance! These two are definitely brothers from another mother. We covered the red carpet as the stars poured into the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday night. Everyone from Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Gordon Ramsay and Mary Murphy stopped by to say hello. Although, our favorite part of the red carpet experience was when we were in the middle of interviewing Jack Black when all of a sudden, Casey Abrams decides to surprise him.

Gems: Not just the name of a Michael Bolton album! Studies have shown that Hidden Gems of the Week, EW.com’s collection of reader-submitted ridiculata, is the best way to enjoy Dancing With the Stars without ever having to turn it on. It’s a visual feast of sparkles, fringe, and Maks’ ass. Double dose of jewels this week — next week, I’ll be on a trip to outer space (Planet Mirrorballus itself) and might not get to spend five hours heavily petting my screengrabber.

So long Stefano ! After four appearances in the bottom three (including Thursday night), the hunky 22-year-old singer was sent home. His performance of Ne-Yo 's " Closer " -- which included lots of hip gyrating -- failed to get the voters going. Joining Stefano Langone in the bottom three were Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk . Still left in the competition are Scotty McCreery , Lauren Alaina , and James Durbin (none of whom have ever been in the bottom three), as well as Casey Abrams . Read more...

This week, the Top 7 will take on songs from the 21st century. Songs from The Future (nope, the last 11 years). Get out your Now CDs! I'm just hoping that by now the Top 7 have enough sense to stay away from auto-tuned songs, or anything by the Black Eyed Peas. Will they feel obligated to? Since Will.I.Am will just be sitting there, staring at them?
Here are my suggestions/predictions for the Top 7, which will definitely be wrong.
Casey Abrams
Song: "Wonderful" by Everclear or "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker
I think Casey has a pretty good '90s vibe, so songs from the early 2000s would work for him. He could also surprise us with "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble. Would he? Nahh.

This week is "Songs from the Movies" week, which also means, for me, a week of disappointment. It may disappoint because A) "My Heart Will Go On" and "Unchained Melody" will be out there on the table, B) "Songs from the Movies" doesn't just mean "Songs from Top Gun," and Pia isn't here to sing "Take My Breath Away," and C) Who will do a tribute to Burlesque? But it's time to move on. So, with my limited knowledge of songs from movies, here are my choices for what I'd like to hear the Top 8 sing.
Casey Abrams
Song: "Danger Zone" from Top Gun
I always want someone to sing something from Top Gun, and if anyone could/should do it this week, it's Casey. I think he could make some Kenny Loggins work. Anyone who has tried to sing "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" at karaoke night knows that...

Casey Abrams can breathe a sigh of relief -- he's safe this week on "American Idol." Instead, America decided to vote off 26-year-old Naima Adedapo and16-year-old Thia Megia.
It was Elton John week. Naima struggled with her reggae adaptation of "I'm Still Standing," while Thia did an impressive take on John's "Daniel," but didn't have enough support.

Hey, you know who it turns out writes really good songs? Elton John does! Elton John writes really good songs, and so right out of the gate, the Top 11 (it turns out Judges. Save recipient Casey Abrams did not succumb to a massive coronary) came into this Elton-themed, double-elimination round ahead of the game. No goopy Celine ballads. No Luther Vandross retreads. No adult-contemporary favorites from the Mulan soundtrack. Not even the requisite selection from The Lion King! Just pure, infectious slices of piano-driven pop from the Mozart of white soul. Before Wednesday (March 16), no one had ever covered a Nirvana song on "American Idol." Casey Abrams' version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" may have inadvertently shown why that had been the case.
It's not that Casey's version of the song was bad technically -- it was faithful to the original, and though judge Jennifer Lopez correctly pointed out that he got a little "screamy-screechy" in spots, his vocals were otherwise fine.
But "Smells Like Teen Spirit," along with any number of other Nirvana songs, is not really about whether the vocal sounds pure and on-pitch. It's about taking all the disaffection, boredom, anger and all those other lovely early-'90s, Gen-x emotions and letting them out in one big, cathartic wail (backed by a great hook). And based on what we've seen of him so far, Casey just doesn't seem that disaffected, bored or angry, so we didn't really...

Casey Abrams has said that he is "feeling energetic" after being released from hospital. The season ten finalist missed last week's live results show after he was hospitalised due to an unconfirmed ailment. He was allowed to leave over the weekend. "I Am out of the hospital, feeling so energetic too, (sic)" he wrote on his Twitter account on Monday, adding the Charlie Sheen-ism: "I owe it all to #Tigerblood." Abrams appeared at PaleyFest 2011 in Los Angeles later that day, where he told Entertainment Weekly that he initially thought he would be able to make the results show on Thursday - which saw Ashthon Jones eliminated - but that didn't happen. He had tweeted executive producer Nigel Lythgoe after the programme aired, saying: "Wish I could (more)...

This week's theme for the Top 12's song selection is "The Year You Were Born." So get ready to hear a lot of songs from the late 80's and early 90's! I'm going to love this week. I don't know what year exactly the contestants were born, so I'm guessing by subtracting their age from 2010 (and I'll be a year off if their birthday is in January, February, or March). Then I'm going to look at the Billboard Top 100 from that year, and choose the song I would like them to sing. Let's play! (Oh, but before we do, please appreciate the way that Casey Abrams is represented in this Top 12 picture).
Casey Abrams, 20
Year: 1990
Song: How Am I Supposed to Live Without You - Michael Bolton
I'm weirdly attached to this song because it's what Zack Attack sang when Zack and Kelly broke up at the costume ball on Saved By the Bell.

Casey Abrams appears to be in the clear. While Fox has remained silent about the double-bass-plucking American Idol contestant's condition, Abrams was reportedly well enough to start rehearsing with the rest of the Top 24 after spending two nights in the hospital. The 20-year-old from Illinois, who auditioned in Austin and now lives in California, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (welcome to Hollywood, kid) with severe stomach pains on Wednesday night and later received a blood transfusion, according to TMZ. He was released today, went right to rehearsal and participated in tonight's taping for the top 12 guys' performance show, airing Wednesday. Already a favorite since...

"American Idol" Top 24 celebrated their achievement with a prom held at the Roosevelt in Hollywood on Friday, February 24. Twelve women and eleven men, minus Casey Abrams who was hospitalized for stomach pains, were surprised with a new Motorola Atrix 4G, along with a lapdock and multimedia HD dock, as well as one year of free wireless service from the sponsor, At&T.
The bash also attracted the attendance of celebrities as well as former "Idol" contestants. Among the stars who support the show were Dr. Drew, Antonio Sabato Jr., Ashley Argota, Lacey Schwimmer, Tyler Blackburn and Thomas Dekker. Faces from the show's past included Ace Young, Allison Iraheta, Andrew Garcia, Constantine Maroulis, Scott MacIntyre and Tim Urban.
The Top 12 men were scheduled to tape the performance for next week's episode earlier that day. Abrams, who was discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon, managed to squeeze two rehearsals and is expected to perform as planned.

Good news, Casey Abrams fans! The "American Idol" hopeful was released from the hospital on Friday afternoon, just an hour before the start of the mens' Top 24 taping in Hollywood, where he is set to perform. Abrams already managed to squeeze two rehearsals into that hour, so he's expected to perform as scheduled.
Abrams was hospitalized Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains. TMZ reports that he got a blood transfusion Friday morning and won't have to return to the hospital for further treatment.
It's a fortunate turn, because just a few hours before his release, Abrams was worried that he may not be able to perform. If he had missed the taping, he would've been disqualified from "American Idol" and sent home.
Now the question remains as to whether Abrams feels well enough to turn out a performance as strong as his previous ones! Zap2it is on the scene at the "Idol" taping,...

The American Idol wannabe who turned show judge Jennifer Lopez into a sobbing wreck after she had to send him home could be returning to the TV talent contest if a sick singer can't make it to Friday's competition.
Hopeful Casey Abrams was hospitalised with severe stomach pains after making it to the last 24 of the contest - and it is not known if he'll be well enough to appear during the taping on Friday.
If not, he'll be replaced - and rejected Chris Medina could find himself back on the stage, because he's one of Lopez's favourites.

Predictably, last night’s American Idol — in which the judges pared down a solid group of singers to 24 finalists — brought plenty of egregious cuts (see: Colton Dixon, John Wayne Schulz), heart-breaking ousters (aw, give us a hug, Jacee Badeaux!), and head-scratching moments (ouch, those were my eyes, Lauren Alaina’s dress!). Of course, the show also gave us the chance to cheer for some of our early favorites in the competition, including (the reportedly hospitalized) Casey Abrams, a talented performer who has yet to crash and burn on the Idol stage. But even after watching Randy unload heaping praise on the contestant,...

Los Angeles — "American Idol" opened the door this season for 15-year-olds to audition but none made it into the semifinals at that tender age.
For round-faced charmer Jacee Badeaux, 15, of Lafayette, La., that means the music stopped Thursday, although he earned a comforting hug from judge Jennifer Lopez.
The 24 contestants who advanced in the singing contest did include two teenagers who were 15 when they auditioned but have since reached sweet 16. Along with a few 17-year-olds, it was mostly singers in their early 20s who got the nod from Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.
California, New York, Tennessee and Louisiana are the states best represented among the two-dozen semifinalists, who are split evenly between males and females.
They won't have long to savor their achievement. Next week, only about half will make it to the finals after the men perform on Tuesday and the women on Wednesday. The results of...

"Will Jennifer find the strength to go on?" Ryan Seacrest asked at the start of Thursday's two-hour American Idol. Wednesday night, you'll recall, ended with a sobbing Jennifer Lopez listing to the side, like a leaking ship sinking into a sea of tears, giving bad news to Chris Medina. Within two minutes, Ryan answered as we expected he would: "Jennifer knows the show must go on." Related: Jennifer Lopez Explains Crying Over Idol Contestant's DepartureNot only that, she looked fabulous. The hair! The luster! Call off the search dogs. Lower our security threat level back down to chartreuse. Our long national nightmare of not knowing the full Top 24 on "American Idol X" finally ended Thursday night (February 24), as Seacrest & Co. spent 14 hours reading 19 names. (Apparently "Idol" was just getting us in the mood for Sunday night's Oscar telecast.)
When the dust finally settled and the also-rans were told to mind the gap as they boarded the "Idol" Obscurity Train (Erin Kelly, Tiwan Strong, Brittany Mazur and Jimmie Allen, meet your conductors Vanessa Wolfe, Erskine Walcott and Hadas), "Idol" fans were left with a promising batch of 24 hungry young singers. And in an "AI" first, all 24 semi-finalists were profiled over the course of the two "big reveal" episodes. (Although, how could they not be in three hours of televison?!)

I can’t remember a season of American Idol when I’ve been more pleased with the Top 24 contestants. Season 10 is going to go down in history as the best year yet!
After more than a month of auditions, the Top 24 contestants of American Idol season 10 were announced Feb. 24. (What a fitting date, right?) Outside of fan favorite Chris Medina, who was sadly cut the night before, there weren’t too many surprises with the big reveal — and honestly, I didn’t mind it one bit!
Thankfully, my three favorite youngsters — big voiced Lauren Alaina, country cutie Scotty McCreery and Charice-esque Thia Megia — all made the cut, so I was pleased as punch. Who else will be competing for our votes to make the Top 12? Here’s your official list:
Naima Adedapo, Haley Reinhart, Clint Jun Gamboa, Paul McDonald, Ashthon Jones, Karen Rodriguez, Robbie Rosen, Julie Zorrilla, Tim Halperin, Scotty McCreery,...

Contestants perform on "American Idol" on Wednesday

On Thursday night, "American Idol" revealed the remainder of the season 10 Top 24, a collection of singer/songwriters, balladeers, scatters, divas, perky teens and belters that will compete to become the heir to Lee DeWyze's throne (perhaps he's not the best example, but let's move on).
Unlike previous seasons, this year's crop of contenders is long on talent, short on sob stories — Chris Medina's exit made sure of that. And while it's probably too early to say this, we could be looking at the most-gifted field of singers in "Idol" history (or at least since the epochal third season). So it would probably benefit you to get to know the field before the cruel cut-downs begin.
And since we know you're busy, we've decided to condense each contestant into a quick,...

The picking out of semifinalists on American Idol has to be the most agonizing episode to watch. On one hand, I want to see everyone's reaction. On the other, did we really need to take two hours to tell people yes and no?
Every year, it seems the producers try to outdo themselves in making the contestants travel to and from their final judgment. It's gone from a room, to a mansion, and this year is in the nicest looking airplane hangar I've ever seen. (I'm a military brat, so I've seen quite a few.) What's next year going to be? Will the contestants have to take a small boat to a remote island?
This is a fairly straight-forward episode, so I'm going to go down the line, just as Idol did. (Although I promise to try and keep my word count down.)
Karen "MySpace" Rodriguez: even though I didn't like her song choices,...

On Wednesday night, February 23, "American Idol" unveiled the first five semifinalists for season 10's Top 24, and ended with Jennifer Lopez's break-down following the elimination of Chris Medina. The show returned with less drama on Thursday night, February 24 to reveal the remaining 19 semifinalists.
After five minute break for Jennifer to get herself together, the judges were back on their seat to continue delivering good and bad news to the hopefuls waiting to learn about their fates. First to face them was Karen Rodriguez, who was met with a good news. She joins Naimi Adedepo, Ashthon Jones, Clint Jun Gamboa, Paul McDonald and Haley Reinhart in the Top 24.
Coming after Karen was Robbie Rosen. He too made it to the Top 24 along with Casey Abrams, Jovany Barreto, Jordan Dorsey, James Durbin, Tim Halperin, Stefano Langone, Scotty McCreery and Jacob Lusk. The last spot in the Top 12 men went to Brett Loewenstern,...

Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have selected the remaining 19 contestants who proceed to the Top 24 round of "American Idol". As expected, top runner Casey Abrams, is admitted into the group along with other favorites such as Lauren Alaina, Rachel Zevita, James Durbin and Scotty McCreery.
Meanwhile, walking away from the chance to be an idol were Colton Dixon and 15-year old Jacee Badeaux whose spot was given to curly-haired Brett Loewenstern. John Wayne Schulz was pitted against fellow country boy, McCreery, and he lost. Others saying goodbye were Tiwan Strong, Eryn Kelly, Jackie Wilson and Jessica Cunningham.
As for the Top 24, they would have to prepare themselves to impress the audience at home with their pipes. Starting next week, "Idol" will go live three nights in a row and the audience voting begins. The guys will perform first on Tuesday, followed by the girls on Wednesday and the finalists announcement on Thursday.

After revealing the first five of the Top 24 on "American Idol" Wednesday night, we get the rest on Thursday night (Feb. 24):
Naima Adedapo, Haley Reinhart, Clint Jun Gamboa, Paul McDonald, Ashthon Jones, Karen Rodriguez, Robbie Rosen, Julie Zorrilla, Tim Halperin, Scotty McCreery, Tatynisa Wilson, Jovany Barreto, Lauren Turner, Rachel Zevita, Kendra Chantelle, Jordan Dorsey, Lauren Alaina, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Pia Toscano, James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Thia Megia and Brett Loewenstern.
But how did we get there?
Like a true professional, J.Lo pulls it together from last night's meltdown to tell MySpace Karen Rodriguez her fate. Karen isn't from any place in the world, just Fyi. She's a computer being from the land of MySpace. At her last performance, Karen does a Selena song in her beautiful alto voice and J.Lo mouths the words, it's a Very Special Moment and Karen gets through.

As on American Idol, Randy Jackson contributed very little to his interview with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show last night — dude wouldn’t even pick a gender for the winner! — but he did hint at tonight’s Idol bloodbath: “I think there’s some shockers coming,” he told Jay. I will fight the urge to channel Michael Scott, ack, I can’t help it, that’swhatshesaid! Phew, out of my system. Yes, according to the dawg-edly repetitive one, we are about to lose some fan favorites. But who could it be? Please, Idol gods, not the reportedly hospitalized Casey Abrams.
