Ann-Margret, Jane Curtin, Loretta Devine, and Christopher Lloyd have joined the cast of the romantic comedy “Welcome to Pine Grove!,” starring Ellen Burstyn and James Caan.
Michael Lembeck is directing from a screenplay by Donald Martin. The Astute Films production is currently filming in Atlanta.
Burstyn portrays a widow who reluctantly moves into the Pine Grove Senior Community after accidentally setting her home on fire — and quickly realizes that it’s just like being back in high school where mean girls rule. Curtin plays the self-appointed ruler, Devine portrays a free spirit, and Ann-Margret’s character is looking for husband number six.

Ellen Burstyn and James Caan have been set to star in Welcome to Pine Grove!, a romantic comedy set at a senior-living center. Michael Lembeck (Tooth Fairy) is directing a script by Donald Martin. Astute Films, which is co-producing Stx’s upcoming Taraji P Henson-Sam Rockwell pic The Best of Enemies, is producing and financing. Shooting is set to begin later this summer.

Film Bridge International has come on board to handle international rights for the faith-based drama An Interview With God starring Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) and David Strathairn (Lincoln), for producers Fred Bernstein of Astute Films and Ken Aguado, who also scripted the project.
Perry Lang (Showtime’s Weeds) directs the movie about an up-and-coming journalist (Thwaites) who finds his world and faith increasingly challenged when he’s granted the interview of a lifetime – with someone who claims to be God (Strathairn).
