Shannon Sharpe arrives promptly at noon at the South Beverly Grill, a short drive from his home in Holmby Hills. He is 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, a wall of muscle sheathed in black athleisure wear. He slides into his favorite booth, orders a cranberry ginger ale and offers a hello — friendly but guarded — to an awaiting journalist.
It’s usually Sharpe asking the questions — whether on his blockbuster podcasts Club Shay Shay (3.17 million YouTube subscribers) and Nightcap (1.26 million subscribers) or on ESPN’s First Take, where through the NFL season he spars good-naturedly with host Stephen A. Smith.
Sharpe, who turns 56 on June 26, shot to fame as a tight end for the Denver Broncos. He’s an NFL Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champ. But his other calling, it turns out, is talking — about sports, yes, but about many other things, too, from social issues to politics to celebrity gossip.

Druski‘s latest project “marks his foray into long-form and highly produced content.” That’s how YouTube describes Coulda Been House, a reality series that will center on the Instagram Live star as he hunts for the next addition to his record label.
On Instagram, Druski has become a household name. He reaches more than seven million followers through Ig Live broadcasts, podcast snippets, and other pieces of short-form content. Coulda Been House, however, will see release on Druski’s YouTube channel, which he launched back in 2020.
Ahead of that release date, YouTube helped Druski build hype for his new show. Taylor Swift is no Yoko Ono, claims a prominent ESPN sportscaster.
Reacting to the chatter that has arrived as the Kansas City Chiefs are no longer dominating opponents, angry fans are pointing to Swift’s appearances at the Chiefs games as the cause of the team’s swoon.
Swift is, of course, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, and her presence is allegedly causing the team to lose focus, even though she’s watching in a box far above the field of play.
Skip Bayless, one of the more provocative Fox Sports sports personalities, led the mob against Swift as Kansas City fell to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, 20-14. The Chiefs have lost three out of their last four contests to now hold a 9–6 record, and the team’s frustration is building. Kelce added to the perception of being distracted when he threw his helmet on the sidelines during the game.

Professional hot take performance-artist Skip Bayless, who for years has been going after LeBron James, has set his sights on a new ratings booster: Taylor Swift.
Yesterday, as the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs were being beaten by the lowly Las Vegas Raiders, the Fox Sports talking head found time to tweet about the important stuff.
“Feels like it’s about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction. What do you think, Patrick? Andy? How about you, Travis?” Bayless wrote on Twitter, name-checking Chiefs’ Qb Patrick Mahomes, coach Andy-Reid and tight end Travis Kelce, who also happens to be Swift’s boyfriend.

Before landing what many call his “biggest catch yet” with Taylor Swift, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had his fair share of romantic pursuits. The journey to this potential romantic touchdown has been filled with notable relationships and public speculations.
From a reality TV stint to a liaison with a sports reporter, Kelce’s romantic history is almost as talked about as his on-field achievements. As rumors of his relationship with Swift gain traction, Kelce might have scored his most noteworthy catch to date.
Travis Kelce’s dating history before Taylor Swift included a dating show
Fans might remember that Kelce once took center stage in a 2016 reality dating program called Catching Kelce. He later admitted to having second thoughts about participating.
“It was extremely awkward,” Kelce stated.
According to Today, Kelce had a short-lived romance with Maya Benberry, who emerged as the winner of the show.

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has found a new home for his popular podcast, Club Shay Shay, in The Volume.
In addition to moving his podcast to The Volume, the digital network and podcasting hub founded by sports host Colin Cowherd, Sharpe’s company, Shay Shay Media, will jointly produce new programming with the network. The news comes after Sharpe’s exit from Undisputed, the Fox Sports debate show, in June, which had put his podcast back on the market.
“I’m excited to partner with my friend Colin Cowherd and the creative team at the Volume,” Sharpe said. “The Volume has built an amazing platform that is the right fit to help Shay Shay Media reach the next level. ESPN may have laid off a couple dozen people in the past month, but it seems the network is not afraid of hiring, either.

Skip Bayless has taken a jab at Charles Barkley after the former NBA star called the Fox Sports analyst an “idiot.” In return, the Undisputed co-host called Barkley a “clown.”
“Still chuckling over a clown calling me an idiot,” Bayless tweeted.
The tweet from Bayless after Barkley’s coverage of The Match earlier this week where Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson faced off Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in a golf competition. Barkley took a swing at Bayless in a nod to Shannon Sharpe leaving the FS1 show and getting a contract buyout from the sports network.
“He’s the best tight end, it’s between him and Gronk as the best ever. And I don’t want to leave out Shannon Sharpe,” Barkley said. “I want one of those jobs where I can get a buyout for working with an idiot.”
Barkley later joked, “What do you think Ernie?...

“Undisputed” co-hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless have certainly had their public clashes, one of which may have even led to the former NFL tight end’s departure – but when it came time for goodbyes on Tuesday, there was nothing but love between the two.
“Skip Bayless. You fought for me, bro,” Sharpe began, addressing his co-host across the table at the Fox Sports 1 studio where the two have locked horns since Sharpe joined the show in 2016. “I’m here because of you. You allowed me to share the stage with you, you allowed me to share the platform. I’m going to cry in the car but I’m not going to cry now.”
Sharpe was wrong about that, as he began to tear up and dab his eyes with a tissue in the next moment:

The tragic thing about the Miami Heat making the 2023 NBA Finals is that Jimmy Butler will never be able to enjoy it. The Heat were a virus — a collection of veterans and second-rounders, slinking through the Eastern Conference playoff bracket, exploiting the weaknesses of every team they encountered and laying them in the dirt, one after another. Milwaukee, sporting the best record in the league, couldn’t manage with Giannis physically compromised on the court, so the Heat popped them in the mouth and strolled past them, curled up in a heap.

He is one of the most unappealing men you could imagine — a cropped haircut floating atop that thin, weirdly muscular frame, punctuated by a reedy, deeply irritating voice. No one agrees with him. You do not log on to Twitter and see the phrase, “Hey, when Skip is on, you gotta admit he makes some good points.” He never makes good points. He makes bad points, one after another, in a manner that drowns the viewer in rhetorical molasses. There are no Skip stans; no Bayless Army. He is not...

A heated exchange between “Undisputed” hosts Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe and the events that led to it helped give a 57 ratings boost to the Fox Sports 1 show.
According to ratings published on ShowBuzz Daily, Wednesday’s show scored a P18-49 rating of 0.11. In comparison, the average P18-49 rating of “Undisputed” episodes between Dec. 19 and Dec. 30 was .07. The surge gave the show 227,000 total viewers for the day.
The argument was prompted by a controversial tweet from Bayless on Monday following the collapse of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. The 24-year-old suffered cardiac arrest after being hit during a game against the Cincinatti Bengals. Hamlin received CPR on the field for several minutes before being taken to a hospital via ambulance.

Fox Sports host Shannon Sharpe returned to the FS1 show Undisputed today after his one-day absence and almost immediately got into a heated dispute with co-host Skip Bayless over that controversial tweet about Damar Hamlin and his on-field injury Monday night.

A frustrated and visibly angry Sharpe snapped back, “I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting.”

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith has a reputation for shooting from the hip with outrageous takes on sports issues. Today, he turned the attention on himself, candidly admitting his role in having First Take co-host Max Kellerman removed from the show.
First Take is one of the highest-rated ESPN shows, although its audience has dwindled since Skip Bayless left for Fox in 2016. The Smith-Kellerman marriage resulted from that, but apparently soured over the long term, according to Smith, who talked to Hot 97 radio’s Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg..
“The rumor’s accurate in terms of me wanting him off the show,” Smith said of Kellerman. It “was not a great partnership anymore and that was something that needed to change.”
Smith felt that the team had hit a wall.
“It wasn’t really about asking him to be off the show, it was about the fact that I knew that we,...

ESPN today announced Tim Tebow as one of the initial debate partners on Stephen A. Smith’s First Take.
Tebow, who was cut from the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars in his latest pro sports comeback attempt, will appear with Smith on Fridays. The show has also slotted ex-Dallas receiver and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin on Mondays.
The other days will feature a rotating cast of ESPN personalities, including Mina Kimes and Kendrick Perkins. Molly Qerim Rose will remain on the show as a moderator. The multiple hosts replace Max Kellerman, who will be moving to his own afternoon show and morning radio stint for ESPN.
Tebow likely will have his hands full taking on the bombastic Smith. The highly religious 2007 Heisman Trophy winner isn’t known for a mean streak and outrageous comments, something Smith has in abundance.
Kellerman made his final appearance on the show Wednesday.

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith is tightening his grip on daytime talk mainstay First Take, as co-host Max Kellerman is departing the show and making way for rotating co-hosts.
Kellerman had appeared on the show alongside Smith and Molly Qerim Rose since July 2016. Soon after Kellerman boarded as co-host, the show was upgraded from ESPN2 to ESPN, where it has been a steady ratings draw and a defining tentpole of the network’s daytime hot-take factory. Kellerman replaced Skip Bayless, who decamped for FS1.
The change in personnel on First Take, which had been speculated about in recent days, was made official today by the Disney-owned sports network. In an announcement of new radio programming, ESPN said Kellerman would expand his work on ESPN Radio from two hours a day to four and also host a to-be-determined TV series. ESPN’s Max Kellerman is exiting “First Take,” the morning show he has co-hosted since 2016.
The announcement of Kellerman’s exit from the show came Tuesday, when ESPN unveiled its revamped radio lineup, with Kellerman set to join the morning talk show “Keyshawn, JWill & Max” — previously known as “Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin” until co-host Zubin Mehenti departed due to health issues.
Kellerman has appeared on ESPN’s popular “First Take” alongside Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim Rose since July 2016, when he replaced Skip Bayless. No replacement for Kellerman was named, but the network alluded to an “updated format” for the show in its announcement Tuesday. Previous reports have suggested that Smith will not get a new regular co-host but will be joined by a rotating series of guests moving forward.

Catalin Tolontan wasn’t ready for his close-up.
The Romanian sports journalist whose investigative work provides the spine of the Oscar-nominated documentary “Collective,” initially turned down director Alexander Nanau’s offer to capture him at work as he sought to expose widespread fraud and corruption. The story he was chasing, one that involved a staggering level of bureaucratic ineptitude and institutional greed, was simply too hot to risk compromising his sources.
“I had a lot of reservations,” Tolontan told Variety during a recent Zoom interview from his native Bucharest. “We have to protect the whistleblowers first of all. Fox Sports has taken Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless to task for belittling Dallas Cowboys Qb Dak Prescott’s recently disclosed bout of depression, stemming from his older brother Jace’s suicide.
In a recent interview with “In Depth With Graham Bensinger,” Dak and his other brother Tad revealed that the cause of 31-year-old Jace’s April death was suicide, noting that their mother’s battle with colon cancer, which ended her life in 2013, took a heavy toll on Jace. Updated, 10:15 Am: Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless on Friday addressed criticism of his comments a day earlier, when he suggested Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s discussion of his depression was a sign of weakness. On his FS1 show Undisputed this morning, Bayless doubled down, saying his remarks Thursday had been “misconstrued.”
“This is the fnal point — one that I’m told was misconstrued by many: The only Dak depression I addressed on yesterday’s show was from an interview he taped with Graham Bensinger. Dak said that depression happened soon after the pandemic hit, early in the quarantine,” Bayless told viewers.
“I said yesterday, if Dak needed help for pandemic depression, he should have sought counseling then.”
On Wednesday, Prescott discussed his struggle with depression and anxiety in an interview with Graham Bensinger on his In Depth television show, tracing his condition to the suicide of his brother.

On Friday’s “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless addressed the backlash to his prior-day comments about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott saying he suffered depression early on in the coronavirus shutdown.

As I strongly stated, I have great compassion for anyone suffering clinical depression, which is very real,” Bayless said midway through this morning’s debate with Shannon Sharpe. “If you are suffering from any point of depression, please seek help.”

Fox Sports says it has “addressed” the issue of the insensitive comments made by “Undisputed” host Skip Bayless about depression.
The comments came in response to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott opening up about his struggle with depression just days before his brother’s suicide earlier this year. Bayless said on Thursday’s episode of “Undisputed” that he does not have sympathy for Prescott, adding that the quarterback’s comments do not live up to “the ultimate leadership position in sports.”
“You are commanding an entire franchise,” Bayless said. “They’re all looking to you to be their CEO, to be in charge of the football team. Because of all that, I don’t have sympathy for him going public with, ‘I got depressed’ and ‘I suffered depression early in Covid to the point that I couldn’t even go work out.’ Look, he’s the quarterback of America’s team.

ESPN may be synonymous with sports, but plenty of stars have bailed for Fox Sports lately. Have a look at some the big names.
Chris Broussard

Carter first joined Fox Sports in 2016 and had hosted “First Things First,” alongside Nick Wright since 2017, but it was a short tenure. He left Fox Sports in late 2019, reportedly after he had an outburst with higher-ups over not being part of the network’s “Thursday Night Football” coverage.

Steven Soderbergh’s latest film looks like it has the attitude of Dwayne Johnson’s HBO show “Ballers” and the polish of the Brad Pitt film “Moneyball.”
