One of the best collaborations Quentin Tarantino has been a part of in the past decade is, surprisingly, with Wu-Tang Clan member RZA. The musician did a fantastic job composing and compiling music for Kill Bill, and the filmmaker produced his upcoming directorial debut, The Man with the Iron Fists. How that latter effort turns out is still up for review, but the first time around went pretty smoothly.
They’ll be conspiring once more, as ShowBlitz reports that RZA and Frozen River‘s Misty Upham are joining Tarantino‘s Spaghetti Western. He’ll play “Thaddeus, a violent slave working on a Mississippi plantation,” and she’ll appear as “a trading post/bar owner named Minnie.”
Nothing too big, but I am happy to see RZA get a good role — mainly because much of his (good) acting work has been in less-than-stellar films like Funny People, Repo Men, and The Next Three Days.
