Rachel Rachel! No not the 1968 Oscar nominated Paul Newman / Joanne Woodward movie. But Weiz and McAdams. They're set to co-star in a Jewish lesbian romantic drama Disobedience. Good luck to whichever lesbian romantic drama with A list actresses has to follow Carol. Is this the next one that'll see release?

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 Episode 4 begins with a dissertation on Derrick Barry. Who is Derrick Barry? What motivates Derrick Barry? Does Derrick Barry have a soul? Is that different from having soul? Does Derrick Barry know what soul is? (Answer key: Don’t know; Unknown; Probably not; Confused; Nope.) Bob’s decided that the purse he made in episode 1 shall now be featured in every episode going forward. So it’s purse first into the workroom! We apparently haven’t had interesting conversations waiting for … Continue reading →

Sorry I’m tardy to the party people. Let’s get started! RuPaul’s Drag Race season 8 episode 2 brings the reality – someone’s going home. Every time. Probably. Unless they do that “you’re both safe” crap again. Eye roll. Jamal Sims, Lucian Piane, Ester Dean are this week’s extra special guests. Did they make a bigger judges table for this? Mini-challenge: a Latin dance-off in quick drag. Ab Soto is the guest judge for this mini-challenge, featuring a song he created with RuPaul. I’m sure it’s available on iTunes. Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Chi Chi DeVayne are the “winners” & get … Continue reading →

We’re at Episode Four of Season Six of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and a few things are now clear. A few queens have risen to the top, and are clear frontrunners (Courtney, BenDeLaCreme, Bianca), some are in safely in the middle of the pack (Darienne, Gia, Joslyn, Laganja), one obviously marches to her own drummer (Milk), one is struggling (Trinity), one is improving and finding her footing (Adore), and one has now been tossed to the vultures. Farewell April Carrion.
This week the Queens have to star in a Broadway style musical from cutie pie Lucian Piane, and as you’d expect, Idol performers Courtney and Adore get the lead roles, each bringing their own style, with different degrees of success.
Courtney is spectacular, nailing the role of fresh-off-the-bus Penny, and is appropriately praised by guest judge, the faboo Sheryl Lee Ralph. Adore plays Bad Penny, and gives it her all,...

Buzzfeed reports that Lifetime is taking steps to turn more Vc Andrews novels into movies. That includes two more books about the Dollanganger clan (specifically, If There Be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday). But from the online discussions I’ve seen, I suspect the most exciting news for Andrews’ fans will be that Lifetime also wants to adapt My Sweet Audrina.
Yesterday, Ed told you that the How I Met Your Dad pilot cast the gay brother. Now, TVLine adds that Nick D’Agosto (last seen in Masters of Sex) and Workaholics‘ Anders Holm has also joined the cast.

The legendary Miss Jody Watley and Carmen Electra popped up as guest judges on a lively episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race on Monday that also served as a nice promo reel for the titular dragster’s music catalog. The queens played a round of “RuSical Chairs,” then headed to the studio to cut renditions of Ru’s “Superstar” from one of six predetermined styles: reggae, hip-hop, country, disco, punk, and pop. Below, a recap using the time-honored art of the screengrab.
