The title might give the game away a little, but that doesn’t lessen the impact of How to Create a Sex Scandal. The new Max docuseries, brisk, brief, and damning, makes a convincing case that an East Texas pedophilia case that sent seven people to prison was in fact a frame job, conceived of greed and a badly damaged moral compass, and still not entirely rectified. This is the kind of filmmaking that can affect actual change.

Elizabeth Chambers has reacted to Discovery+’s explosive new documentary, which explores allegations surrounding her ex-husband Armie Hammer, calling it “heartbreaking”.
Released on 2 September, House of Hammer is a three-part examination of the alleged abuses of the actor, which then delves into the alleged wrongdoings of Armand Hammer, the actor’s grandfather, as well as the Hammer family at large.
In 2021, a woman identified as Effie publicly accused the Call Me By Your Name star of raping and abusing her, a claim he denies. Since then, others have alleged sexual misconduct against the actor, two of whom appear on camera in the documentary series.
Hammer has repeatedly denied allegations of sexual misconduct made against him.
Directors Elli Hakami and Julian P Hobbs use the allegations lodged against Hammer as a jumping-off point to explore all facets of his famous family.

Courtney Vucekovich, one of the Armie Hammer accusers who shared her story in House of Hammer, is speaking out to clarify a photo used in the Discovery+ docuseries that has come under question.
In the three-part series, which released on Friday, Vucekovich spoke of a months-long relationship with the Call Me By Your Name actor that she says left her traumatized and in a rehab facility. At one point, she shared a note left by Hammer for her at her apartment that read, “I thought this would be a cute note and it just says, ‘I’m going to bite the fuck out of you,'” she explains.
A bite-mark photo was shown while Vucekovich described alleged injuries sustained at the hands of Hammer, who has faced allegations of abuse and cannibalism. Some viewers claimed on social media that the image appeared to be of a bite-mark tattoo.

“House of Hammer,” a new Discovery+ docuseries about the sexual abuse allegations against Armie Hammer, is making a change following its release, removing an image of an alleged bite mark that one of the actor’s exes believed to be a photo of her own body. Turns out, the image in question appears to be a bite mark tattoo from Pinterest.
In “House of Hammer,” Courtney Vucekovich — one of Hammer’s former partners, who has accused him of improper sexual behavior — discusses the love-bombing, coercion and abuse she alleges to have endured during her relationship with the actor. In an on-camera interview, she says the actor convinced her into Bdsm situations that did not make her feel safe, including rope bondage and biting.
“He bites really hard,” Vucekovich says in “House of Hammer.” As she gives details on the alleged biting, a photo is shown of a bite mark. In the doc,...

Armie Hammer’s fall from grace is the subject of “House of Hammer,” a new three-part documentary from Elli Hakami and Julian Hobbs. The actor, who once headlined films like “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” and “Call Me By Your Name,” is now reportedly working as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands following multiple allegations that he attempted to coerce women into performing disturbing sexual acts. His interest in cannibalism and alleged request to eat a woman’s ribs has received the most attention in pop culture, but the allegations all fit together to form a pattern of abusive behavior.
The accusations began to snowball in 2021 after Effie, a 26-year-old European woman identified only by her first name, accused Hammer of rape in a news conference held by her lawyer. (Hammer’s attorney denied the claims.) But while Effie wants to see Hammer brought to justice, that doesn’t mean...

It's been a year and half since Armie Hammer's stardom publicly imploded and somehow, there's already a docuseries about it.
What began with one woman sharing her story eventually led to a snowball effect as many of Hammer's former girlfriends stepped forward to share horrifying accusations and proof of threatening text messages. The actor has since been accused of rape and abuse. He ended up losing his agent, dropping out of multiple projects, and remains at the center of an LAPD sex crimes investigation. The latest word on the matter is the news surrounding "House of Hammer," a three-part Discovery+ docuseries, which arrived on the streamer earlier this week.
While the news was still breaking in March 2021, filmmakers Elli Hakami and Julian Hobbs spoke with executives at Discovery+ about their idea to dig into the story behind the headlines. "House of Hammer" is the result: a series that includes...

“Effie,” one of the women who, in 2021, had accused Armie Hammer of rape and physical abuse, called producers of the new Discovery+ docuseries “House of Hammer” “disgusting” for “exploiting” her trauma even though she opted to not be included in the project.
The three-part documentary from Elli Hakami and Julian Hobbs that premiered on Friday explores the allegations leveled against the “Call Me by Your Name” star last year, as well as the disturbing history of his family.
Only one accuser, Courtney Vucekovich, agreed to be interviewed for the series; Effie did not. She told the LA Times on Friday that, when she was first approached by Hakami and Hobbs, she responded to them in writing, saying, “It is extremely inappropriate of you to exploit such a tragic, vulnerable time in many people’s lives, with no regard whatsoever for our healing process and privacy.”

In early 2021, Armie Hammer’s world began to unravel. The actor with a seemingly perfect life had recently announced a divorce with his wife of 10 years with whom he shares two young children – and then explosive social media posts regarding Hammer’s sexual proclivities spiraled into a media firestorm. Hammer was swiftly dropped from a number of projects and his agency, WME. The unverified texts allegedly sent by Hammer depicted him telling women he wanted to bite them and tie them up. “I am 100 a cannibal,” one of the alleged text messages from Hammer read. “I want to eat you.”
As the story progressed, numerous women claimed Hammer was abusive, controlling and coercive. One woman accused him of rape. The actor was named the main suspect in an ongoing sexual assault investigation by the LAPD.

“House of Hammer,” the discovery+ docuseries chronicling allegations by women against actor Armie Hammer and the troubled history of the Hammer family, dropped a new trailer for the show Wednesday.
In March 2021, a woman accused the actor of sexual assault and of banging her head against a wall in 2017. The actor’s lawyer denied the accusations, saying all of Hammer’s sexual encounters were “completely consensual.”
The trailer features two women who said they were involved with the actor. A lawyer for Hammer didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment about the allegations in the trailer.
Here is the logline for the series: “Hammer’s meteoric rise to fame came crashing down as victims came forward with disturbing stories of bondage, cannibalism fantasies, branding and that was just the beginning. The rape and abuse allegations brought against Armie Hammer in 2021 shocked Hollywood insiders and fans across the globe.

Armie Hammer, the embattled actor who was accused of sexual abuse in early 2021, is the focus of a forthcoming Discovery+ docuseries, which also delves into his family history.

An explosive trailer, released on Wednesday by Discovery, includes two of Hammer’s alleged victims giving on-camera interviews and sharing screenshots of messages and audio of voice memos they claim to have received from the actor.

There's a great moment in the new History channel miniseries, America's War on Drugs, when a former DEA agent named Celerino Castillo explains why America's crusade to purge drugs from the world is doomed to fail: "America is more addicted to drug money than they are addicted to drugs."
After risking his life going undercover in the 1980s, Castillo had been disillusioned – quite a few different times – to discover that the CIA couldn't care less about stemming the flow of cocaine from Latin America. In fact, the agency ignored the Contras' drug smuggling.

The History Channel has released a full trailer for their new four-hour Houdini miniseries. The show will follow the life of the legendary magician from his beginnings in desperate poverty to the worldwide fame that he gained. The series stars Adrien Brody, and it looks like it's going to be pretty damn good.
Before David Blaine and David Copperfield, there was one man whose name was synonymous with being the master of illusion and escape - Harry Houdini. Houdini follows the man behind the magic as he finds fame, engages in espionage, battles spiritualists and encounters the greatest names of the era, from U.S. presidents to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Grigori Rasputin. The drama will chronicle the life of a man who can defy death through his stunts, his visions and his mastery of illusion.
