In October of 2014 Reel FX Creative Studios along with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation released The Book of Life. This film follows the journey of Manolo Sanchez, voiced by Diego Luna, who has to deal with the pressures of following the family tradition of bull fighting and following his heart as a guitarist, all while him and his best friend Joaquin, voiced by Channing Tatum, fight for the love of Maria who if voiced by Zoe Saldana. This love triangle brings out the competitiveness of the Gods who wager on which of the two will win her heart. The bet ends up taking Manolo on an adventure into the land of the dead and face his greatest fears.
Directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro, The Book of Life went on to earn $100.5 million worldwide and receive great reviews. This is one of the biggest breakout...

Gutierrez will again be taking the helm on The Book of Life 2 after the original became one of the biggest breakouts for an independent animation. In the first outing of this animated love story we witnessed a love triangle between childhood friends, the sensitive Manola guitar strumming (Diego Luna) and preening Joaquin (Tatum) whose competition for the hand of the vivacious Maria (Zoe Saldana) causes the gods to lay wagers on who will win and, with that, the future of the world.

I've got a great collection of poster art inspired by sequels to popular films that we'll probably never see. This art is part of an art show being hosted by the Los Angeles art gallery iam8bit and it's called Sequel 2.
The gallery opens on November 30th, both online and at the gallery. You'll be able to see the collection of art here. You can see some samples of what will be on display below. Each poster features an artist's interpretation of what a sequel to a particular film could be.
Some of the films included in the art below include Close Encounters of the Third Kind 2, Speed Racer 2, E.T.: The Return, The Power of the Dark Crystal, Being Jeff Goldblum, Who Shot Roger Rabbit, Son of Scissorhands, Furiosa, and Egg Shen and the 6 Demon Bag.

‘Intelligent’ mosquitoes and slacker demons were lurking at the third European edition of the genre film market in Brussels.
Despite last week’s terror attacks in Brussels, the show went on at Fantasia’s Frontières International Co-Production Market for genre films at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
For its third European edition, the market curated one of its strongest selections to date, including Baskin director Can Evrenol’s Housewife. This time, Evrenol will focus on a woman who struggles with a traumatic family history and slowly loses her grip on reality.
Another stand-out was Amanda Kramer’s Drain You, adapted from her own novel of the same name.
Executive produced by Poltergeist remake director Gil Kenan, producer Rebecca Rose Perkins described the project as an “Lgbt grunge horror” and “Blue Is The Warmest Colour meets It Follows”. Set in La, it follows a teenager who falls in lust with a sexy older girl and becomes ensnared...

The 42nd Annual Annie Awards were handed out on a busy Saturday night in the awards world and "How To Train Your Dragon 2" was the big winner. The DreamWorks Animation blockbuster (it's true) took home six Annies including Best Animated Feature and Directing (Dean DeBlois). While the entire Academy votes on the Best Animated Feature category, this endorsement from the animation community can't hurt in a very competitive year. Other big winners included "The Simpsons," Amazon's "Tumble Leaf" and Oscar frontrunner "Feast" for the Best Animated Short Subject honor. "The Boxtrolls'" Sir Ben Kingsley took home the award for Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production and Phil Lord and Christoper Miller won for Writing in an Animated Feature for "The Lego Movie." A complete list of this year's honorees is as follows: Best Animated Feature "How to Train Your Dragon 2," DreamWorks Animation Directing in an Animated Feature Production Dean DeBlois,...
