After being saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” bell on “New York Night,” Medusa was on a mission to prove she deserved her spot in Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer” finale. She clawed her way back into the competition, taking out Gargoyle and Mantis in the “Battle of the Saved.” Next, the snake-headed songstress belted her way through the “Quarter Finals (British Invasion Night)” and sent home California Roll in the “Semi-Finals,” the quintet that originally defeated her.
With just Macaw standing between Medusa and the Golden Mask trophy, she wowed panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger with performances of “Elastic Heart” by Sia and “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance. It was déjà vu for David Archuleta on Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” The 32-year old performer who had been masquerading as Macaw all season finished in second place to Medusa, the same position he landed on Season 7 of “American Idol” when he lost to David Cook. His emotional journey of self-discovery ended with performances of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All By Myself” by Eric Carmen. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong correctly guessed the musician’s identity, but Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg were off the mark.

Briggs, as Medusa, won this season’s top prize and was finally unmasked on Wednesday night’s finale, along with runner-up David Archuleta, revealed as the Macaw.
Briggs, who performed the most of any contestant this season, sealed her victory with performances of “Elastic Heart,” by Sia, and “Welcome to the Black Parade,” by My Chemical Romance. Although Briggs said singing under the Medusa costume was a challenge, she pointed out that it was nothing compared to what she did last year.

Macaw and Medusa will face off in the Season 9 finale next week. Panelists Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg weren’t fooled by the Grammy-winning quintet wearing sushi masks, but Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were both off the mark.

Season 9 of “The Masked Singer” continues shaking things up on Wednesday, April 5 with its latest theme night: WB Movie Night. In a new promo for the wild and wacky reality TV show (watch above), Fox promises “action, suspense and intrigue” throughout the movie-themed hour, with a “classic, mysterious ending” that will “steal the show.” Excited yet? It’s almost time to shout “action!” on this week’s episode.
Two new performers — Dandelion and Mantis — will make their “Tms” debuts this week alongside our reigning champion, Doll. Two of these three costumed crooners will be forced to unmask, unless the panelists decide to ring their “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell for the third and final time this year. Recall that they previously saved Medusa in round one and Gargoyle in round two.

Three all new celebrities in disguise took took the stage for “80s Night” on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” After a performance of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, Scorpio advanced to the Battle Royale where she got her stinger snipped by Doll. The venemous performer pulled off her mask to reveal “Selling Sunset” star Christine Quinn. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were all stumped by the reality TV star.
“I was like, if I’m gonna do it I’m goin’ out with a bang!” Christine told host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview. “I’ve always loved the show and girls just want to have fun! I call myself a closet singer. So the fact that I’m here singing in front of people just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and practice.

Three all new celebrities in disguise took took the stage for “80s Night” on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” After a performance of “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis & The News, Moose placed third place behind Doll and Scorpio. The antlered crooner pulled off his mask to reveal himself as former “Cheers” star and six-time Emmy nominee George Wendt. Panelist Jenny McCarthy correctly guessed the TV star, but Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were off the mark.
When asked by host Nick Cannon why he decided to appear on the show, George quipped, “I thought maybe I’d win.” He continued, “It is profoundly ridiculous,” while the audience screamed, “Norm!” When asked if he ever gets tired of the reference to his “Cheers” character, he said, “No, I don’t get tired of it is. I was getting tired of Mooose!” His closing remarks were simply, “Let’s go have a beer!
