Dick Van Dyke made history at The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards for playing Mystery Man/Timothy Robicheaux on Days of our Lives.
At age 98, the win made Dick the oldest winner in Daytime Emmy history as well as earned him a standing ovation as he took the stage.
It was not a surprise at all when Dick’s name was called as the winner for his Guest Performance in a Drama Series.
Not only did he kill it working on Days alongside vets like Drake Hogestyn (John), Deidre Hall (Marlena), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), and the late Bill Hayes (Doug), but Dick’s just simply a legend who deserved the honor.
The crowd went wild when Dick’s name was called and during his speech.
Thanks to Stephen Nichols (Steve), Days of our Lives fans were given an up-close look at Dick’s reaction to it all.

Dick Van Dyke will make his soap opera debut on Days Of Our Lives.
The 97-year-old is set to appear as a guest star on a forthcoming episode of the long-running series.
Van Dyke told Access Hollywood that the role came about after he met Days Of Our Lives star Drake Hogestyn at the gym and asked him for a part on the show.
“I used to kid him, ‘Don’t you have any parts for old people? Come on, give me one.’ And he took me seriously and got me a part!” he told the outlet in a video interview.
The episode – which will air in autumn – Van Dyke will play a man with amnesia, appearing in a scene with cast members Hogestyn and Deidre Hall.
During the Access Hollywood segment, Carol Burnett offered Van Dyke some advice. Burnett previously had a recurring role on All My Children in the Eighties.

Although we've done well with waiting for the release of Mary Poppins Returns without going crazy, our patience is beginning to wear thin after seeing the cast's recent red carpet appearance. On Thursday, Emily Blunt, Dick Van Dyke, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the rest of the cast attended the La premiere of the film, and they looked like they had a total blast. They flashed bright smiles at the cameras and laughed together all while looking fabulous (just Behold the sleeves on Emily's dress).
Emily and husband John Krasinski looked absolutely beautiful together, and it seems John was able to hold back his tears while he was there supporting his wife. Dick - who played Bert in the 1964 version of the film and makes a cameo in the upcoming remake - also looked like he took a spoonful of sugar as he playfully posed and shared a kiss with his wife,...

Los Angeles — He's acted, danced and sang his way through movies, television and the stage, making Dick Van Dyke an entertainment triple-threat long before Hollywood used such hyphenates.
The 87-year-old actor, best known for the 1960s hit comedy "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and Disney's big-screen musical "Mary Poppins," can now add lifetime achievement honoree. He picked up that honor at Sunday night's 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
"I've knocked around in this business for 70 years and I still haven't quite figured out exactly what it is I do," Van Dyke said after accepting his trophy from presenter Alec Baldwin.
"The years have been full of surprises for me and a lot of fun. Aren't we lucky to have found a line of work that doesn't require growing up?"
Van Dyke's career has spanned eight decades, starting with work as a disc jockey and a standup comic in the late `40s.

Los Angeles — Forget dishonest modesty. Dick Van Dyke seems nothing short of gobsmacked about receiving the life-achievement honor at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Though probably best known for "The Dick Van Dyke Show" (1961-66) and Walt Disney's big-screen musical "Mary Poppins" (1964), the 87-year-old Van Dyke said that, with the SAG Award, "I kind of find a home.
