John Grady, a biologist from the University of New Mexico, and his team have determined that dinosaurs were neither warm blooded, nor cold blooded, but somewhere in the middle.
Dinosaurs: In Between Cold And Warm Blooded
Grady and his team developed a way to determine and analyze a dinosaur’s metabolic rate based on research done on growth rates and energy use of dinosaurs.
“We found that growth rate is a good indicator of energy use in living animals. Warm-blooded (endothermic) mammals grow up 10 times faster than cold-blooded (ectothermic) reptiles, and metabolise 10 times faster; in general doubling one’s metabolic rate leads to a doubling in growth rate,” Grady explained.
When turning their focus to dinosaurs, Grady found that their metabolic rates did not match those of a mammal or those of a reptile, instead, “they occupied the middle energetic ground.”
“They had growth rates and matabolisms intermediate to warm-blooded and cold-blooded organisms of today.

All the Pretty Horses is a novel about a teenager in the late 1940s who sets off to Mexico with his friend. John Grady Cole is the product of generations of Texas ranchers; ranching is what he knows and does best. His grandfather has just died, his parents are separated, and he finds himself cut off from the life he always imagined for himself. He ventures across the border in search of a new life.
He travels with his friend Lacey Rawlins. Together they meet a young teen who calls himself Jimmy Blevins and allow the boy to travel with them. This decision colors the rest of the events of the novel and leads to tragic situations. Their friendship and the loyalty that accompanies it is tested again and again.
The friendship between Cole and Rawlins may be one of the best male bonds I've seen portrayed. Their personalities clash.

Boxing champ Muhammad Ali is preparing to make a pilgrimage to the Irish town where his great-grandfather was born.
The sports legend has accepted an invitation to visit Ireland on 1 September after local researchers recently discovered documents that indicate one of Ali's ancestors was born 160 years ago in the County Clare town of Ennis.
Irishman Abe Grady emigrated to the U.S. in the 1860s, before settling in Kentucky and marrying an African-American woman.
Grady's son went on to raise Odessa Lee Grady, who would give birth to Cassius Clay Jr., named after his father, in 1942.
The 67 year old changed his name to Muhammad Ali in 1964, when he became a member of the Nation of Islam.
Genealogist Antoinette O'Brien says, "Through research being carried out for the Irish language TV station TG4 on Ali, we established Ali's great-great grandfather, John Grady, the father of Abe, rented a house and a small garden in Ennis with a rateable value of fifteen shillings (75 pence) in 1855. There is no doubt that Abe Grady was Ali's great-grandfather."
The former World Heavyweight Champion is expected to be named the first Honorary Freeman of Ennis during his visit.
