This year brought us more gripping cultural obsessions than any year in recent memory. Between record-breaking blockbuster films, the penultimate installment of the epic Game of Thrones series, phenomena like the fidget spinner, and huge news from some of our favorite artists, 2017's most memorable moments provide endless Halloween costume inspiration. For some people, it's a holiday - for us, it's a freakin' lifestyle.Naturally, we're happier than kids in a (Halloween) candy store. At Popsugar, we don't take Halloween lightly; we start burning Autumn-scented candles as soon as the first leaf changes, taste-test pumpkin spice snacks in the middle of Summer, and begin our horror movie marathons immediately after Labor Day. For some people, it's a holiday - for us, it's a freakin' lifestyle. When our editors are on the ground covering fan events like Comic-Con and WonderCon, they're observing the latest cosplay trends with Halloween on the brain.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton said in a statement that he was “disappointed” that the president had decided to hold the rally so soon after the tragic events at the white nationalist “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville that left three people dead.

Prentice Penny wears many hats -- showrunner, executive producer and writer -- on the HBO series Insecure, about two black women navigating work and relationships in South Los Angeles. And with Sunday’s episode -- season two’s “Hella La”, which he calls a bridge between the first and second half of the season -- he’s added director to that collection.
After years of producing shows like Scrubs, Happy Endings and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Penny has finally helmed an episode of TV, something he tells Et he’s wanted to do for a while now. But it was Insecure -- which was co-created by and stars Issa Rae -- that proved to be the best place for him to make his directorial debut. “It’s certainly a safe environment because I know the show and what we’re going to accomplish creatively,” Penny says. “The most interesting thing, which I’ve told Issa and other people, [is] it...

That was almost good enough to make us forget about the gorilla. Almost. Was it good for you, too? Let’s review the hour’s salient points, then you can grade the episode and hit the comments with your critique.

Sometimes it seems like I spend a disproportionate amount of my life talking with actors about the differences between single-cam and multi-cam comedies. Here's another of those interviews. TBS and Sony Pictures TV's "Your Family or Mine" returns star Kyle Howard to the network and studio behind "My Boys," which had a well-regarded four-season run (but somehow aired only 49 episodes, which surprised me a little) ending in 2010. In November, I sat down with Howard on the "Your Family or Mine" set to talk about whether he feels any continuity between his earlier sitcom and the new one -- this was before a new creative administration took over at TBS -- and how the difference between single-cam and multi-cam comedies impact him. Howard agreed with co-star Kat Foster that the two leads have a very good chemistry and that that kind of chemistry is both rare and lucky. He also explains...

Good morning!
First thing's first: A rep for the film Laggies reached out to tell me that the Keira Knightley and Chloe Moretz hook-up is not happening. It's just an internet rumor and the girls are just really good and unlikely friends in the film. Sorry to disappoint and misinform!

If you're someone who has daydreams about Megan Rapinoe and the Uswnt soccer team hitting the showers, then you will probably enjoy Girls Who Score.

Kirkland said that even though Flay wasn’t her mentor on “Worst Cooks” (that honor belonged to Flay’s fellow chef colleague Anne Burrell), she became friends with Flay through conversations on set. “There was this connection with Bobby when talking about our children,” she said. What stuck with Kirkland was how he said he treats his young daughter when it comes to feeding her. When it came to meal time, Flay didn’t treat [ Read More ]...

Calling Kelli Powers the worst cook in America isn't entirely accurate. The stay-at-home-mom and winner of Food Network's cooking competition, which sets out to find everyday people who are "the best at being the worst" when it comes to preparing food, is actually the most-improved cook in America.
Huffington Post Black Voices invited Kelli to the Sunday dinner table for a quick chat about what her win means, how it feels to no longer be the mom whose dish sits untouched at potlucks and what she's whipping up for her family this week.
How do you explain to people what being the "worst cook in America" is?:
The winner of "Worst Cooks In America" is actually the most improved cook in America, which I think is great [because] it really sends a message out to people that just because you're bad at something doesn't mean you will always be bad at it.
