I dont claim to be a film expert (goodness knows I often cannot remember actors names etc), but I do love films and talking with like minded people. If I make any errors or bad netiquette, forgive me, as I probably dont know I have. Ive only just heard about Internet Trolls from a fellow poster.
I also have a sense of humour and often make remarks "tongue in cheek" but I have never set out to offend or insult, so dont take offence as my comments may have been in pure innocence or with light humour.
Im on here to put forward my views, comments and honest opinions of films etc and to read other peoples. I dont mind a good discussion, even strong debate on subjects, as it can be fun, but Im not looking for arguments or fanatics, as Id just rather leave that well alone.
Well thats a little about me and why Im on here every so often.

A Day to Remember (1953)
A Nice Little Film
This film has to been seen for what it is, a nice little film from 1953, and not try to compare it to today's films or the classics of yesteryear from the big studios.
There are some wonderful little touches in the film, if you really want to see them. Stanley Holloway as Charley Porter and how he says "'night Charlie!" while wiping the beer froth from his mouth as he leaves the pub. Donald Sinden who plays Jim Carver shows a young man that still holds memories of his past in the war (this film was done only 8 years after the end of WW2). A lovely touch is when he's back in France, with the sound of the tanks and then the tractor. Jim Carver was a tank sergeant. When you see the film, you'll see what I mean.
This film was done in a very innocent time, and yet not long after a violent nasty war. It deals with the past well and Odile Versois's character Martine Berthier, is wonderful to see. How she views things is a delight.
Look out also for Shirley Eaton (later to be a James Bond Girl), she's not credited in the film, yet is seen several times ... Train Station, and the Ferry.
How to Murder Your Wife (1965)
A Very Funny Film
This is a very funny film with some wonderful acting and was regarded by Terry Thomas as his most favourite film that he had acted in. It's not hard to see why. As the butler he is superb.
I've clicked the spoiler box in that though I don't want to tell you the films story I do want to say that in the end the film shows that love wins out and it's not really a battle of the sexes at all. More how much someone means to you.
It's how you view it. If you watch the film with an open mind and a light heart, you should enjoy it's clever script and the funny acting. (The lawyer is a scream). Do men win in the end? Like I said earlier, not really. No one wins or loses as even Terry Thomas at the end shows with a gesture, it's all about ... amore.
