Gojira -1.0 (2023)
Not really exciting for me
Even thought I really enjoyed the post-war Japan and the human drama behind the broken families and personal dylemas, the Godzilla part didn't stood up to what I was expecting.
The effects were great but the fighting and the strategy developed to defeat Godzilla didn't seem really exciting for me. I personally expected the whole final fight to developed as it did: the main plan to be tense but finally fail leaving the whole fleet with the "surprise" of the main character doing a kamikaze attack to fulfull its original purpose, except it was predictable not a kamikaze attack because the plane was a new model which had the ejection seat (predictable because the mention minutes before that Japan never cared for its soldiers, so here's the spin).
I really wanted to enjoy it, watched it with Japanese audio but sadly I have to give it a 7 at best for the visual effects and human drama which weren't that bad.
Kleo (2022)
This show screams "I'm not realistic and I don't want to"
I started watching it because Spotify told me that some music I listen to (Red Army Choir) appeared in the soundtrack. I really liked the tone of the first episode although I always struggle with "historical" shows being unrealistic. The thing is the surrealism bits that appear in each episode fit very well in the mood. The photography is very beautiful, some sequences are wonderfully directed. I also enjoyed the mix of cultures (based on the locations) along the show in tune with the soundtrack, costumes and even the language that was spoken in some parts by the cast. It might not be perfectly round plot, but I was able to let go my "strictly logical" self to enjoy the wonderful artistic component.
The Walking Dead: Too Far Gone (2013)
I never rate episodes but...
I rarely rate episodes individually but when this episode finished I just needed to come and leave a 10/10 to this masterpiece. An episode full of emotions and feeling. I could watch this episode once and again, it's so well done. Probably the best episode of TWD until now.
