Rim of the World (2019)
Plot goes afoul...so do their mouths
A mess. Too many miracles are needed to keep the plot alive. The "heroes" (kids) language makes this uncomfortable as family fare. It's a shame because the premise isn't bad, but the film misfires.
Per qualche dollaro in più (1965)
Family over Fortune, Earned Respect
As a child, a cardboard placard for this "coming soon" film made an impression. It would be a decade before I viewed this masterpiece. It's a story of determined vengance; long-odds; earned respect between old and young warriors; and familial bonds. Its timeless themes are reflected in subsequent favorites, including "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "Gladiator". The soundtrack defines a genre and the film's occasional wry humor is well-placed. Great film.
House Doctor (1998)
It's all about her...or much ado about nothing
While I enjoy the look of the inside charming British homes, the "improvements" are hardly enough to keep my attention. The success rate is hardly compelling. Most grating though is Tracy. Her ego and use of "I" after a team has created the results sent me to the TV remote. Not recommended.
