Jojo Rabbit (2019)
Taika Waititi is a genius
After thoroughly improving in the MCU and resurrecting the character of Thor in Ragnarok (2017) he returns to his humbler roots outside of the superhero conglomerate. While it may not be as strong a film as Hunt for the Wilderpeople or indeed Thor Ragnarok , he still produces an astonishing piece of work that merges a witty and silly comedy Which Waititi is a master of with a truly devastating portrayal of youth and German society during the Second World War. It might not be as good as his other works, yet it it is still a strong and engaging film that is more than worthy of its six Oscar nominations and places its director right at the top of the league of film makers currently working now !
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Brilliant
Forget the overhyped Battle for Winterfell in Episode three, this is for me should have been lauded before the season as the one to be excited for! The episode has elevated an at best a mediocre season to be one that is salvageable. The absolute carnage that Daenerys rained down on Kings Landing left me speechless and in awe, while I feel the story ends that we're tied up in this episode were strong ways to finish arcs/kill off Characters. But my favourite moment was that they finally killed of Euron Greyjoy #rejoice easily one of my top ten GOT episodes without a shadow of a doubt!
Inside No. 9: The Devil of Christmas (2016)
Genuinely outstanding
I have always been a fan of Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pembertons work in the League of Gentlemen and Psychoville, but Inside Number 9 is my favourite, and this episode is in my opinion the greatest they have made, an episode where I was continually guessing what the inevitable twist would be and despite this I was still left bewildered. Not just the best episode of this series but one of the best bits of modern television made!!
