The Old Man & the Gun (2018)

Rather slow and uninspiring

Watched this film as a secret cinema movie (not knowing what the movie is until it starts). And have to say that I'd find it hard to purposefully go out and watch this. It's difficult to rate it more than average given the cast available yet the slow and at times directionless story lines. For Redford's "swan song film" I left the cinema feeling slightly cheated at the thoughts of "what could have been" with the story line. The acting is first class, although I struggle to see how Casey Affleck was chosen for this role as it dampens down the movie even more with a performance that doesn't quite reach the heights it should. Sissy Spacek does her best though to raise the bar. Distinctly average overall, at best.

13 Reasons Why (2017–2020)

Great season 1

The first season is pure brilliance with a definite start, middle, and ending. The story is told well and is filled with emotion and tension. Season 2 is less so and often the plot looses sight of what it's trying to achieve. While still a relevant story line, I felt slightly cheated at the end of season 2 as there was no real conclusion to the whole season :-/

Better Off Ted (2009–2010)

One of the funniest TV series ever

Without a doubt this series is one of the funniest there has been. It's tongue in cheek, sarcastic, in your face, and just purely genius throughout. It's unfortunate the series was cancelled because it had the makings of becoming something exceptional. Thankfully there are a few episodes to keep you going :) bring it back I say!

Decent horror series

This is a rather slow burner with fewer scares than expected. The script often seems to drag on a bit, however the moments where it all comes together are pure brilliance. Worth watching.

Without knowing much about the movie I sat down to watch it and have to admit that I loved it! The storyline is superb from start to finish winding its way through epic moment to epic moment. It works up to a violent climax that is as unexpected as the the film is good!

Johnny English Strikes Again (2018)

While the plot is half decent, the jokes often seemed overplannwd and tired :-/ I'm a huge fan of the first couple of films but this one didn't quite live up to that level unfortunately. A few good laughs though so it's worth seeing if only just to switch off for a while :)

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

There is no doubt regarding the talent of Queen and Freddie. This movie portrays their genius perfectly! The script is superb and the acting even more so. The last 15 minutes are epic ... safe to say I've been listening to Queen none stop since watching this :) 10 stars!

Tough Watch

A tough watch which is the exact point. The end is a bit sudden. More could have been done, after sitting through the film, potentially exlporing other outcomes. But that's a minor criticism. Great acting even though the script is rather slow at times.
