Don't waste your time with season 2

I really enjoyed season 1 and felt engaged and gripped throughout. I liked how Joe didn't just kill someone and get away with it - there's a whole chain reaction afterwards. However, and this is a big however, season 2 seems like a repeat of season 1 just in LA not New York. I gave up before the end of episode 2. Same mistakes, same murders, different town and different woman.

New Amsterdam (2018–2023)

So much fun

This show is an absolute gem! I love medical dramas anyway but this is fun, energetic, and engaging. It makes great use of music to keep things light-hearted when it needs to, emphasise points, and include humour. The characters are likable and interesting. I binge watched the first season within 3 days and am so excited to start season 2.

Private Life (2018)

If you don't understand the ending or why it feels like a long film...

... then you are clearly lucky enough to not have experienced infertility issues. The reason it's so long is because infertility is long. The reason the ending never reached a climax is because for some people, the journey to becoming parents never ends. If you consider these points then you'll see your complaints in a whole new light.

I thought the acting was superb, I loved the candid, realistic portrayal of such a horrific and sensitive subject. Definitely recommend this film.

The Heart of Christmas (2011 TV Movie)

Awful acting

I see many other reviews have praised the acting but I don't understand why. It's awful acting and in many parts, awful writing too. I appreciate it's based on a true story and I don't want to take anything away from it, but I agree with one reviewer who said it's like a commercial for the hospital. If you're looking for a tear-jerker, there's way better films out there.

How do they get away with murder?!

I heard good things about this show so gave it a go. I wish I hadn't. It's so unrealistic - they clean up murders left right and centre and no one questions it?! Great example is Liz in season 6. She left behind a daughter, people would be looking for her... things like this ruined the show for me. Also the huge role Olivia's father plays in most of the seasons. It was SO repetitive! I got really bored in the end. Save yourself some time and don't watch this.

The Greatest Showman (2017)

Simply Stunning

I honestly can't understand why this has rated so poorly with the critics. I hope the studios don't listen to them! It is an AMAZING movie, the songs are utterly unbelievably good and ok yes it's slightly unrealistic (riding an elephant through Manhattan, for example) but that just makes the film that much more fun!! I've now watched it twice in 24 hours and will probably purchase the soundtrack too. The acting, the script, the costumes, the songs, it's all incredible. 10/10 for sure.
