The Devil's Advocate (1997)
The Faster You Go, The Faster You Fall.
This would be a fairly legitimate comment about the movie.
Although the messages to be given have been successfully delivered, the rapid progress of the film and the sudden occurrence of events force you to pass the scenes without digesting.
The maddening of the woman and the arrogance of our lawyer are not a process, but an event. I think this situation disrupts the flow of the film and adds unnecessary speed.
Messages about pride and arrogance are delivered using the devil. At the end of the film, two alternatives are presented as the devil or a dream. Except for these two alternatives, in my view, things should have gone through real individuals who symbolize the devil. This would be a more satisfying ending for the majority of people who don't like fantasy fiction.
With its beautiful and impressive messages, very successful actors and unfortunately fast-paced structure, the score of this film is 68 for me.
Scent of a Woman (1992)
Simple yet Impressive Messages and Pacino's Great Acting
There are two messages in the movie, one in the background and the other in progress. The first is "don't let go of the principles", which was completed in the final scene. The other message is that no matter how bad things go, there is a glimmer of hope.
The processing of messages takes place with a simple event cycle and as expected. While this slows down the flow of the movie, Pacino's Oscar-winning acting re-enacts the flow that is about to fall every second.
When the film is viewed from an artistic point of view, it does not seem remarkable. Nevertheless, a catchy scene is formed with the birth of the tango scene and its continuation with "Por una Cabeza" by Carlos Gardel.
With Al Pacino's excellent performance and simple but effective messages, "Scent of a Woman" is definitely a movie worth watching.
American Psycho (2000)
A Needle to the Consumption Society
It is a very successful satire that is attributed to the last point the consumer society can achieve. It is a work that deals with the lack of satisfaction and the constant search for one step further.
Christian Bale is giving full credit to his role, but this is not the case with other actors. Although the messages given by the film are processed quite successfully, the sounds and shooting quality are not at the level of a masterpiece.
My score for this social criticism film, which can be watched even for Bale's performance, is 77 out of 100.
Nuh Tepesi (2019)
Story of Regrets by a Great Atmosphere
Atmosphere, acting, plot, immersion ... You wouldn't think it was the first work of a director who created such a beautiful movie, but it is.
"Noah Land" is a very original film that makes you feel the emotions of the characters throughout the movie, and strengthens this feeling with its sound and music. The regrets and intense emotions experienced by the characters are easily passed on to the audience and the whole message is given in its most meaningful form.
Noah Hill is a movie that deserves 86/100 points when all these features are evaluated.
Fractured (2019)
Typical, Predictable, Ultimately a Netflix Movie
You can see the end of the movie just when the events started. There are two ways that can happen, and both are cliché.
The acting is moderate. There is no very self-evident performance. The subject revolves around a fairly simple event. The music is in the style of a classic netflix intro.
The result is a mid-level "watch-and-go" Netflix production, all of which are predictable events. This movie, which does not contain any message and does not contain any surprising elements, is not worth watching.
In Bruges (2008)
A Great Black Humor & Drama
"In Bruge" is a very good movie with its dark humor and accompanying drama.
When the music used in the film is combined with the beautiful atmosphere of the city, artistic transitions that are not very related to the film emerge. These absurd transitions add interestingly to the film's dark humorous drama, and a beautiful unity rises..
This movie, which also contains artistic references, creates a pleasant viewing pleasure with its acting, shooting, sound and the way the subject works. Such a great black humor / drama movie that's definitely worth watching.
Kol (2020)
Whatever Has Happened, Has Happened.
The Call is a movie that gives you the impression that you are watching the movie called Frequency. The more sophisticated script is not enough to make the films completely independent, so the movie falls short of originality.
The only difference between two movies is that, Frequency shows how to change the past and how does change on past affect us when The Call says "Whatever has happened, has happened."
The acting is one of the factors that keep the movie up. Especially the main roles do their job well. Considering the shootings and music of the movie, it can be said that the film falls short on these issues.
Although the movie does not draw you in, the viewing pleasure is high and intriguing despite everything. Considering all these factors this movie deserves 59 points so it's a six for me.
