Quality crime mystery TV show with a fast pace

Fast paced quality TV show that serves realness into the crime/mystery genre.

All actors' performances are top-notch whilst director's capability of managing this wonderful script and keeping the mystery till the very end is unrivalled.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who can appreciate European TV at its finest.

Sci-fi fans will be disappointed, as the objective here from the producers is to serve us with a story that can happen to anyone. It is one of those stories that could have been easily characterized as "true".

This piece of good television will probably remain timeless because the social/societal, family and personal issues that are raised are of paramount importance for almost all modern societies and communities at large.

Now and Then (2022– )

Solid commercial crime thriller

Quite a catchy recipe for this one and adequately executed. A group of friends, 20 years after a certain event are being blackmailed for what happened back then. It's the same recipe that Netflix used for creating the much inferior "two summers". The 4th episode of this apple TV series is amazing and the plot is quite intriguing throughout. The suspense is being kept with new elements in every episode and the pace is normal to fast which is good for a change. All these pretentious crap series that keep the pace slow on purpose and for now reason, drive us to extreme levels of boredom. Almost only the European productions have a true justification for the slow pace that we usually encounter in their series (e.g. They build characters, show emotions, raise the tension etc). American TV shows of nowadays think that by purposely keeping the pace slow, this automatic raises the quality standards. Thanks God this show is not that pretentious. Enjoy it for what it is: a suspenseful and commercial crime thriller which is interesting to watch whilst being neither super sophisticated nor of low quality.

The Mess You Leave Behind (2020)

The best mini TV series of 2020.

What a surprise from Netflix I had today. I just watched this modern crime-mystery and I'm feeling over the moon. Such a compelling story that unravels gradually and slowly and at the end you are completely thrilled with the final development/resolution of the story, its climax and its revelations! Direction is pure magic here and grabs your attention throughout the 8 episodes and reaches an absolute climax at the last 2 episodes. Although it uses the technique of flashback to some extent, the viewer NEVER gets bored and to be honest the said technique is used in a very contemporary and innovative way that adds to the film and its excitement. The artistic direction, the cast as well as the production are all of first class quality. The actors play very naturally and convincingly and the script is the strong asset of the series.

If you watched the movie "CONTRATIEMPO" some years ago and you liked its modern and refreshing approach towards the genre of modern crime/mystery, you will surely like this one too.

I had never imagined that I would say that but : thank you Netflix.

Ps: I would like to thank Spain too for its commitment to the abovementioned genre. They keep on surprising us effortlessly.

Beautiful Boy (I) (2018)

Boring Drama that we have seen a million times

Boring and slow drama centred on a topic that we have seen a million other times. After the first 45 minutes, I stopped watching. It's not a "Gran Torino", it's not a "Best offer", it's not "Match point". Generally the topic is not presented in an interesting way.

You'd better watch a good drama like "La Zona" (2007) instead of this b-movie which is obvious by miles that is created by a network like Netflix or Amazon... These networks are efficient for tv series, not for movies.

Crazy Rich Asians (2018)

A treat for your senses!

"Crazy Rich Asians" is a brilliant feel-good comedy, a treat for your senses.

A modern Cinderella story that meets tradition, family values and foreign customs and culture. The extraordinarily large scale production is mind-blowing and combined with the top-notch performances from the cast, elevates the whole viewing experience to a total new level of pure entertainment and fun! Indulge yourself in this film's music, colours, choreographies, costumes, beautiful landscapes, modern architecture and lavish lifestyle.

Emotional, funny, joyful and realistic with significant "fairytale" touches, "Crazy Rich Asians" is the film we were longing for the whole (movie) season. Watch it at the Cinemas or at home in High Definition format with no regrets. Most probably, this is the most relaxing, bright, positive and cheerful film of the year !

Searching (III) (2018)

Are you all serious here? 7.7 average score for THIS cheap bore???

A boring cheap movie that is produced in front of a pc with no more than 10 euros production budget. After 30 minutes of this cheap nonsense, any educated viewer will give up.
