Rick Stein's India (2013)
Best travel cooking series ever made...
Rick manages to capture the essence of Indian culture and cuisine in its truest form. Being of Indian origin and having visited many times, I feel Rick manages to express my own sentiments in the most beautiful way. His travels and quirky explorations remind me very much of the guided tours given to me by my late dad. I'm so grateful to have this series. Thank you.
For the non-Indian, he provides practical adaptations of the various real Indian recipes to recreate his version of the same dish, whilst maintaining the element of authenticity. Wish I could have tagged along or there was a holiday package that provided the culinary experiences shown on the series.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Uncompromisingly awful
Episode 8 was a weak story so episode 9 tries to distance itself from its prequel. A film made as damage limitation, which also tries to revert back to an overused star wars plot formula. Why couldn't Disney tell the fans an original story around these characters? It tries to achieve so much that it feels like a 2.5h long trailer.
The best thing about this movie is that it has made me appreciate how good episodes 1,2 and 3 are (in comparison), which I never liked before watching ep9.
Thank you Disney for ruining a part of my life.
