Rings of Power a tale of 2 episodes.
6 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers so do not read until after you watch episodes 1 and 2.

In my humble opinion: The best species in the two episodes are The Dwarves. Dwarf Deesia is a solid character as is her Dwarf Husband are closest to Tolkien's writings.

I will not Critique the Actors at this juncture, will give an honest review at Seasons ending episode.

The kin of Hobbits, their screen time was just a wee bit difficult to follow, it might be due to sooooooo many Story Arks within one episode.

Episode One: Like most Pilots it was long, disconnects between multi Story arks.... that happens with most stories Pilot episodes. We all know that as shows progress, Actors grow into their characters. Writers learn from first few episodes writings, to hone skills and improve scripts...

The Middle Earth Humans Numanore, again scripts episodes 1 and 2, packed a plethora of stories arks.

Hoping to see in episode three forward improved scripts, and the tying together and neatly storied progression of all the storyline s thus far.

I saw cast interview s, and I do hope they will move onwards in giving details in their interviews regarding their Characters progression.

I also find the Creators interviews interesting...... holding opinion for end of Season.

Tolkien's vision was to give his homeland myth, legends Heroic overcoming the big evils. Greeks have their Myths, Romans have their Myths, the Norse their Myths. Tolkien gave to his Land of Birth, their Myths...

I am a fan of Tolkien's work. He was a writer ahead of his time.

Now moving into the Twenty First Century Tolkien's works are still relevant... We find meaning we find fantasy and can read and escape real world woes.

The Tolkien inspired Movies, are still a delightful viewer escape from daily life stress.

It is my sincere hope that as this new show Rings of Power unfolds that many of the open ended story arks will have a successful ending to episode 1 and 2 s beginnings.

Mythos and fantasy programming visuals are very good, however; I respectfully hope that scripts get better in tying up the beginning s multi-storylines, and respectfully hope that Amazon Prime AND, the Creators of ROP, will in good FAITH listen to the Fans concerns, and hopes for clarity in future episodes, after all, Success is preferred to failure.

The Special VX, the backdrops well done, good execution from the VX, green screen department.

Costumes are good, hope to see more improvement from Costuming and Props. Good start, CnP looking forward to seeing more.

Music, good... looking forward to hearing more soundtrack as the season progresses.

Casting good, Drawves exceptional of all Casting in episodes 1 and 2.

Respect the Genre, its stood the test of time, it is a beautiful magical world created by a wonderful writer. The road tried and true, the Tolkien Estate cares about LOTR, and many fans care .

To be successful creative and inspired, listen learn trust and write scripts strong. Risks are a given. The King shall return ... Valor shall watch, guide and teach. Drawves mine and forgers forge the weapons to stop Sauron and his Orcs.

Humanity learning more daily that we are one Race, Humanity... Middle Earthers, reaching for the stars looking towards the Lands undying and knowing that we Humanity hold the keys to Peaceful Middle Earth.

Total closing remarks for episodes 1 and 2, Hopeful anticipate episode 3 and the Season One unfolding. I see the hard work put into these two episodes, and will give review as the episodes unfold.

Respectfully,

R. Carr.

Star Trek: Picard: Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2 (2020)
Season 1, Episode 10
7/10
Season One finale!
26 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So, we were anticipating that all open story lines would be finished, or progressed going into Season Two!

We also hoped, the pace of character interaction would be more than the battle scenes, flashbacks. But, we know this is the first Season so we understand there will always be glitches with most new shows.

Picard dies, we hope the beginning of Season Two will give us more character development, and not just rather quick, and at times confusing scenes.

We also hope that the Starfleet will be more than just Fbomb dropping Female Admirals, and Sunglass wearing Vulcan/Romulan SF Officers, giving quick blink mind melds. And, the Murdering Scientist Doctor who killed Maddox, must stand trial for what they did! It is fine to say, sorry I killed Maddox! But it is not fine for her to not go to a UFP/SF Penial colony for her crime.

And, I would like to see the Creators, Writers, Exe. Producers stop blaming FANS, for expressing their concerns and opinions regarding the many flaws with this program.

I am grading Star Trek Picard, against Trek from 2009 forward, giving it a overall SEVEN as a whole Season One. For this final episode a Six.

If I graded STP against Star Trek 1966 to 2020? Star Trek Picard Season One is at the bottom of my complete Star Trek 1966 - 2020 catalogue list!

IMDb Interviews: Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Season 2, Episode 32

First Episode .
22 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Slow crawl episode, reminds me of 70s 80s drama feel. Not very informative regarding the story mission, other than Romulans are killing androidic/biologic lifeforms. Picard gets grilled by reporter. Yelled at via Admiral SF. What will season one unfold? Picard's retirement, aged obviously he is sick. Is this his last hoorah? Stay tuned.

Star Trek: Picard: Broken Pieces (2020)
Season 1, Episode 8

More of the Mission coming together.
16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After a slower than molassas start, much like a TNG Dixon Hill Adventure.... Star Trek Picard finally gives the viewers more about the Romulans, plot to take down UFP and the Federation.

After watching Picard, repeatedly yelled at, Cursed at, disrespected.... by Admirals, and other officers, reporters and civillians... and, the long drawn out...tedious episodes that lead us with tiny bread crumbs , up to this latest episode! Finally, we gain a little more insight into what is happening in Picard's world.

This episode gave us deeper insight and a little more depth into what is happening to SF, UFP, and humanity. We're painfully watching Raffie drugging and toking, the suicidal and murderous female robotic android scientist. Rios the holo ship driver, Soji learns more about the gift of humanity handed down by Data. Picard, frail and the beautiful reunion with Riker and Troi. This episode is the best of the season to date. But, they still have much to disclose and story lines to tie up.

It looks like, it may go into Season two, before the current story is full circle.

Star Trek Picard, much like Moby Dick. A solitary and lonely hunt. One man's journey, in golden years.

Over all, this show is still dark, a lingering forlone sad tale many elements...

Picard, a man alone. A journey to repay a friend, gave his life to save his Captain.

What does the future hold? We will find out, as the episodes unfold.

A close accounting of the times it was shot.
18 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Halls of Anger,1970 debut film regarding Bussing in California in the late 60's early 70's.

The main Character, sent to the school to teach, arrives as several Caucasion Students are bussed into the all Africian American student body.

The movie pretty much lives up to what happened not only in California but also in the South. It shows how prejudice can be overcome when people decide to learn about one another and their culture, their background.

I am a child of the South, and I lived it personally. In the schools, beyond adult prejudice's and the factions that marched in protest on both sides, to keep students from being bussed. In the school rooms, when students decided that everyone was there and not going anywhere; truces began, small at first then the bridges were built and friendships began. This movie is much like "Remember the Titans"(IMDb 2000), it shows that there was prejudice on all sides, not just one race or creed but everyone had trepidations and pause, fear at the future.

But I learned one thing. "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself." Good movie, true to the time line it portrays.
