Rabbit Seasoning (1952)

The best of the trilogy, needless to say

I have been a huge fan of the Looney Tunes works by Chuck Jones, and this one, without a doubt, is the one of the greatest masterpiece directed by Jones.

I like all of the hunting trilogy, but I liked this one best for Daffy's selfish personality reached its peak in here, while Elmer, often too dumb to live, almost reached his peak as well (second only to the last of the trilogy, when he looked completely an airhead).

Though Daffy was able to scold Elmer that he didn't notice Bugs, Daffy still didn't prove much brighter than Elmer, as he frequently fell for Bugs's pronoun trick. Believe it or not, I actually started to THINK like Daffy when I watched this cartoon for the first time back then.

Everything looked funnier when Elmer paired with Bugs, Elmer's stupidity helped him become one of the most famous and funniest partner of Bugs (perhaps second only to Daffy).

Overall, it's one of my best cartoons, I rate 10/10. The best one.

Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983)

This is the only Mickey Mouse cartoon that I approve it, because the entire short based on my favorite English short novel A Christmas Carol written by Charles Dickens, and it was the only time Scrooge McDuck shown his REAL identity: Mean-spirited, Cold-hearted scrooge UNCLE SCROOGE!

Alan Young voiced Scrooge very well in the cartoon, and the cartoon characters from Robin Hood, Pinocchio, and so on, are played a role in the film, even Mr.Toad played as Mr.Old Fezzwig in it! It seemed that Mickey Mouse was bringing back to popularity surely!

The only scene didn't impressed me is that Belle (Daisy Duck) is shown as Scrooge's love in it, and is she older than Donald? And is Donald still a bachelor in the short? It was not possible!

Also, when Ghost of Christmas Future (Pete) began to reveal his identity and pushed Scrooge down into the grave, it was horrifying! The last one: How did Goofy and Scrooge became partners? It's shame to treat Goofy that badly for letting him played Jacob Marley, a tormented ghost. Fully misrepresent Goofy! I guess Pete should played Jacob Marley's role, he is still evil, and Goofy and Scrooge seemed to be strangers afterwards.

Despite these flaws, I still like it, I ranted 9/10.

(P.S. I NEVER ranted Mickey Mouse's short film that high before!)

This one is a good war film, though it contained a lot violence and intense sound like in The Foreigner (2017). But it had shown many patriotic actions, so it didn't underwelmed me.

It is one of my best Chinese film, as it contained many kinds of educational knowledge, like it was filmed in Qingdao, and many environmental problems needs to be beware, it touched my heart terribly.

This one is rather good for MGM movies, as it follows the journey of professional wrestler Saraya "Paige" Bevis, from growing up in a household of professional wrestlers to winning the WWE Divas Championship in 2014. The film also features the conflict between Saraya and her brother, Zak, as the two both compete in try-outs for WWE; however only Saraya is signed.

Rather great.

Donald's Crime (1945)

Donald is on his way to commiting crimes, Daisy and Donald was having a date, however, Donald was broke, he decided to steal his nephews' money to spent the splendid night.

The whole process was tiring and nervous, since Donald's evil conscience egged on him.

It's pretty creepy after Donald recevied a wonderful kiss from Daisy, being called "big shot", his conscience reminded and tackled him, he felt like he is going to jail and was wanted. But in the end, even though he raised enough money to made amends about his nephews' money, his nephews' spotted him, too. So. as conscience said"You see, chum? Crimes doens't pay."

I wonder what will happen to Donald soon.

Donald's Decision (1942)

Donald: TOMORROW! TOMORROW! Angel: No, get up, Donald!

This short is not from USA, but from Canada, this short is totally based on the previous Donald short film [Donald's Better Self] (1938), the entire plot and entire gags are copied from the ordinary short, except for the background is different.

The way Donald laid is a hammock instead of the original bed. Also, the Donald's Devil appeared from the mailbox which contains a swastika. And the way which Donald's Devil harnessed Donald's Angel, and the angel drove the devil in a grave is exactly alike. Even the way Donald send the money to the post is the same running from the original film, too!

This is such a great film. Like the conclusion of the WWII is "Invest in Victory"!

Donald's Better Self (1938)

Floating timeline...

This short marked the appearence of Donald' s devil side and angel side, in which they both tried to tell Donald to go to school or not to go to school. The plot was great, but there is a floating timeline here, which Donald turned into a student instead of an adult, so how old is him for sure?

This plot is great for Donald, because the two opposite side of Donald's personality can teach Donald what is right, gags are not omitted from the short, so that's probably why during the days of WWII, the National Board of Canada decided to make a Donald short "[Donald's Decision] (1942)", which the plot is totally based on this short.

Overall, it's rather great except for the floating timeline. I ranted 8/10.

Donald's Cousin Gus (1939)

This cousin will be OUT!

This cartoon remarkly marked the debut of Cousin Gus, which the only Duck family's members which appeared on Disney animated shorts so early.

On my word, Gus should be OUT for sure, let alone violent-tempered Donald, I truly wondered why did the note was wrote" He doesn't eat much". This could really be a cheater, and when Gus rudely devoured Donald's dishes, like bananas, peas, and even sucked Donald's coffee by the loaf of bread!

Besides the cartoon was being funny, I guess this kind of relative in reality should be kicked out for sure! But Donald can't stop Gus, so poor Donald!

Ranted 8/10.

Crazy Over Daisy (1950)

This cartoon marked Daisy's last appearence, but it doesn't had a happy ending, which two chipmunks came to spoil the splendid time, though the theme song was unique which contained the name Daisy. Still, Daisy framed Donald in the end, overwelming. Not good. Thumb down.

The Flying Jalopy (1943)

Crazy jalopy! Crazy Ben!

The Flying Jalopy is one of the Donald's shorts, this cartoon was made during the days of the WWII, so it may contains something about WWII. Evil Ben is trying to blackmail Donald to buy a semi-good-looking jalopy, Donald is too stupid here. What else occured? The rest of the gags when Donald tried to control his plane, he accidentally burned Ben as Ben tried to sabotage him. In the end, Ben still get his comeuppance, rather good, but not quite funny.

Puttin' on the Dog (1944)

No zuo no die!

Tom's try proves "no zuo no die"! He chased Jerry into a dog pound, and he tried to disguise himself by wearing a dog mask head, try to fool the dogs, Spike, though very vicious, but very foolish, easily fooled by Tom, but Jerry was too smart for Tom, that means he will face many possible danger, since he was in a dog pound. What happened towards the end of the cartoon made me very terrified and nervous, because Jerry had informed Spike that Tom is not a dog after all, that he was tricked all along, Spike's roar and run was very horrified and bit Tom hard, Tom shouldn't took much risks there. Poor Tom!

This cartoon proved "No zuo no die"! (means never tried to do things inpossible)

A Quiet Place (2018)

This is the very first horror film I've ever saw, the whole film has less voice and more terrifying sound has occured in various highlight, the unforgettable scene is that the bridge the family walked seems creepy, appeared a lot.

The monster! What is that thing? It devoured the family's father, and invade the rest of the family, but good, the monster was been killed, but what the last scene I still couldn't understand, when the mother took out the gun again and shoot something unseen, ambiguous.

Horror!

The Foreigner (I) (2017)

Thrilled and Violence, but nice to see Jackie Chan again

This movie was terrifying, but Jackie Chan played that, so I won't tell any bad from it, but its plot was ambiguous and the movie seemed too many violence and coincidence. A cat-and-mouse chase, and I had no notion of the plot summary, and how did the end going, so it's not a quite understandable movie Jackie Chan recently made.

Overall, it was a rather good one. I ranted 8/10.

Cured Duck (1945)

Donald is on his way to Daisy, which occured a temper problem, which Donald manage to change his temper to have good spirits, which Daisy lost her temper in all of a sudden, seemed nice to see Donald in good temper, but seemed unpleasant in the end. Not really good one...

Donald's Double Trouble (1946)

Worst cartoon, a literally shame for Donald, hardly a Daisy Duck anymore!

This cartoon isn't funny and well-looking at all, presumably the worst Donald Duck short I ever seen, not only to Donald, mostly, to Daisy Duck, Arguably a literally comparison of Daisy Duck's kind and soft personality, quite contrary and bad!

The initially scene is not impressed me, Donald got criticized by Daisy for his poor English speaking, that could be understably, for as we all know, Donald only can speak in his ambiguous voice, we got used to it, but how can Daisy been so angry? She should be a reasonable character, to my mind, and the scene when the telephone booth exploded seemed pretty violence, poor Donald!

Donald himself I didn't got impressed, he seemed like a corward and only take advices from the look-alike duck, what to replace him to woo Daisy back, not knew what the duck's intention, he, obviously, got betrayed, and he became jealous, more fights, more profanity! And what's going on with Daisy? Shouldn't Daisy be angry to see the look-alike Donald by then? The plot is completely ambiguous.

What the ending is the most disgust and horrible scene I ever saw, when the look-alike duck and Daisy entered the tunnel of love, and menacingly got rape by the look-alike duck, and later, a brutal fight began, I felt very unimpressed when I saw the two male ducks both thought they got Daisy, until they reliased the mistake, and Daisy, very angry, angrily ranted at them, she looked carzy and deranged, what's going on? a completely misrepresented for Daisy Duck! I wonder what will happened next, I can stand this no more.

I don't want to say anything right now, this one is completely underwelming to me. Thumb down.

Homerun (2003)

Chew Seow Fang's lovely feet looked great!

Sorry, the title I wrote is just a joke, now let's cut to the chase.

This Singapore film, again by Jack Neo, very touched, about a boy and a girl called Chew Seow Fang and Chew Kiat Kun, both poor and optimistic, when Chew Kiat Kun accidentally lost his sister's shoes, he knew he had to do something, but, to be honest, Chew Seow Fang's feet looked quite good, I know it's not right, but I had to say that.

I guess I saw a very touched scene that I came to my tears, Chew Kiat Kun tried to convince his parents and headmaster to let him join the race to win the shoe prize, and he did his best and won it, I can help myself no more, and I was deeply touched.

Remarkable film, competed to the I Not Stupid Too (2006). I ranted 10/10.

The Clock Watcher (1945)

Shame one for Donald

This is a not a quite good Donald's film, it was unreliastic, what's more, was that Donald acted not quite well, not funny gags, and it only treated Donald more roughly, a clock watcher, Um.

Donald surely looked like a clock watcher, not did well in the job, threw into tantrum, and more, but I did like the end when the boss was beaten by Donald, which what happened next is ambiguous. That only comforted me a bit, I'm afraid.

Finding Soul (2016)

Nice to see TFBOYS played their role again...

TFBOYS played this web series well, and their plot was good and had a lot of suspense, that's why I can liked TFBOYS so much, their songs were all right, and Karry Wang's acting skills are well, too.

The only flaw was, I didn't actually understand the plot, true, it's about the AI problems, and some revealed secrets, but I can't understand that much, probably I was too young, but mostly, GREAT!

Duck Pimples (1945)

An amazing cartoon, but who will ever understand this?

I'm an one of the old Disney short film lovers, and after I saw this Donald Duck short film DUCK PIMPLES, I couldn't understand a bit, first, the title card didn't make any sense at all, GOOSE was crossed out and wrote DUCK, what in the world does that mean?

That's not more, Donald Duck was listening to a radio and scary stories repeatedly appeared and frighten Donald, his couch even turned into a green monster in his imagination! Poor him! Then he met a mysterious bookseller, who gave Donald a bunch of whodunit novels, PRETTY CREEPY!

Donald was literally enchanted by the scaring stories and the characters even jumped out, moved Donald into a semingly real crime world, it's very violence and creepy when Decetive Hennessey accused Donald the robber and ready to shot him and other scaring characters. When the commotion finally over, Donald started to wonder what else happened, or if it was just his imaginary or stuff.

Anyway, I felt like it was a shame for Disney staff members treated Donald so badly, and it's ambiguous and terrifying, not a typical Donald's short, but still ranted 8/10, less than I ranted Donald Duck and the Gorilla 9/10.

I Not Stupid Too (2006)

Touched film, good for adults...

"I Not Stupid Too" summarized the wonderful and suitably expressed the family relationship problems, it's very touched and much educationally impressed parents and teachers. This film was made in Singapore in 2006, so it's 12 years old.

Jerry is the primary student and loved performing arts, his brother, Tom, a talent blogger, Chengcai, a boy loved fighting, Tom was caught by his teacher for his VCD, and Chengcai's cheeky remark caused a brutal fight, and Chengcai was expeled, while Tom was caned, and what's more, they joined a gang and shoplift an iPod, caught by two fake policeman, and was demended to send 2000 dollars, unable to raise money, they rob a lady's necklace, but regreted that and try to return, once again have a difficult time, but luckily, with the help of Tom's father, and the kindness of the lady, finally home and dry, and the two fake policeman got what they deserved.

Jerry's parents always refused to watch his performances under the pretext of bustle, and when Jerry heard his father told that people will pay $500 for an hour of his time, he starts saving money, but he can't save enough and eventually resorts to stealing. After he is caught, his furious father repeatedly canes and shouts at him, but forgives him when the boy explains that he wanted $500 to "buy" an hour of his father's time. This prompts Mr. and Mrs. Yeo to read Tom's blog and realize how unappreciated and alienated their children feel. Having finally understanding their children, the Yeo parents watch Jerry's concert, much to Jerry's delight.

Later, the gangsters whom Chengcai bumped into earlier beat him up. Mr. Lim, who happens to be nearby, tries to protect his son, but suffers head trauma after being pushed down the stairs. He is taken to a hospital, critically injured. On his deathbed, Mr. Lim tells Chengcai that he loves him and that he should pursue his talent for fighting and then die. Witnessing this scene, the principal is touched and allows Chengcai to return to school. The boy eventually becomes an internationally recognised martial artist.

After listened to their stories, I have some thoughts and sentiment. Besides that, there's still some wonderful gags, like Jerry was teased by the others to kiss his "girlfriend", and slept with her, very funny! And I wonder how the actor and the actress manage to acted like that!

The only flaw about this was probably that the film was too many violence and profanity, presumably intense some adults, but most of it was good, I ranted 9/10.

Operation Red Sea (2018)

Good one, it isn't boring at all

This movie is thrilling, and not boring at all, this war film seens like an analogy of 2017 War film "Wolf Warrior 2", pretty cool, and plenty of thrills contained in it, innit? I think it's dangerous and I was pretty scandalized when I heard the bombing and smokes and lots of special effects are actually REAL! Amazing! I soon knew this movie is based on a true incident, no wonder this movie seen pretty popular, it's great my brother actually chose this better war movie.

The actor acted pretty cool and realistic, I ranted 9/10.

Donald in Mathmagic Land (1959)

Oh, why didn't I use this educational math film before? It's so fabulous!

This cartoon is much too great, for one thing, it used the cantakerous Donald Duck and the seemingly "bored" math to mix together, so, it made more fun and great knowledge that everybody, even the adults, will approved it, too bad, why didn't I use this before?

This film used lots of math knowledge, like golden ratio and golden rectangle, Pi, full of laughs and fun, I did like the episode when Donald try to fix himeslf in a golden rectangle shape, but to no avail, bad luck! It simply proved that Donald weren't perfect, too.

Pythagoras in the film also great, gags and maths, together created a wonderful educational film for Disney and Donald Duck himself, for sure, it seens like Disney staff have different creative ideas, too! Especially put Donald Duck inside, and at last, with the help of The True Spirit of Adventure, Donald finally understood have math great are, and me too!

I learned a lot from this film. Overall, it's one of the best Disney and educational film I ever seen.
