Could've been good

Great stars, very interesting storyline but good grief!, I didn't think I'd live long enough to see the ending. May be one of the slowest movies I've ever seen. And then when I, at loooooong last got there, son of a dog! I hated that ending! I guess I had more faith in Jessica Chastain to be in a better movie. Gawd, it could've been such a great movie! 😡

Horrible. The Stand has always been one of my favorite books. I also enjoyed the first film adaptation of the book. But this...junk is just that-junk. The suspense is gone. The interesting characters don't exist in this remake. There are several "big names" in the actors, and none of them could possibly hold my interest with the lousy script, flashbacks/forwards/sideways. Just a terrible mess. And Whoopi may vaguely resemble the prophet, Mother Abigale, but her rendition of the role just..doesn't work. Nothing in this works. I only subscribed to CBS all access specifically for THIS show. Waste of money and time. Man!, how disappointing!

Even for a kids' movi, this stinks. I've watched several "kids' movies" and oh wow, they were MUCH better than this. Also watched many kids in movies, and the worst of them was better than whoever is supposed to be best in this. Waste of time. Netflix sinks lower every month. It's time to cancel an account.

I haven't been this angry about a movie ever before! Good, interesting buildup but YOU NEVER KNOW WHO THE KILLER IS! He wears a mask until the very end and you keep watching and watching...and they NEVER show who it is! Or why he does it! Most damned infuriating end ever!!

Vox Lux (2018)

Awful mess

What the heck? Some boring scenes (a crowd walking down the street, cars passing on the road, etc) went on far too long, so I fast-forwarded. The young Celeste singing, and the songs, were horrible. How the world could that have created a star? I wouldn't have paid a nickel for any of that "singing ". I had to fast-forward all that, too. Flat, cardboard character in the young Celeste. By the time Natalie Portman came on screen, I was so bored and irritated I didn't really care about the character. And it didn't get a lot better. I began this movie because I truly like Portman and Jude Law. I thought with both of them in it, the movie should at the very least be interesting. Wrong. Not sure how both usually good actors got entwined in this mess but it proved to me that just because good actors are in it doesn't mean it's going to be a good movie. A waste of time.

The opening line should have warned me: "over 9 out of 10...". OVER 9 out of 10. ISN'T THAT TEN??? What very little I watched after that didn't get any smarter, any better, at all. Don't waste your time.

Has to be THE worst animated movie I've ever seen. I'd hoped it would be fun, light-hearted. Nope. I've only seen/heard of one of these actors. Did they find the rest in a "acting class"? And just HOW many times can characters say, "Huh?"in the first ten minutes? I doubt if this could hold the attention of a small child. 🤦‍♀️

Esme cannot act! One of the worst, flat, uninspired, horrendous jobs of "acting" I've ever been unfortunate to experience. I couldn't even finish watching it! To hook the viewer, you need characters that you can cheer for. I strongly disliked the female protagonist from the very first scene. When I found that I not only did not care how she fared, that I actively wished someone would smack that snotty act off her smug face, I turned the movie off. Who the heck ever called this woman an ACTOR???

Oh hope *I* get hit by a car after watching this movie. I kept thinking "It's gotta get better-right? Surely it can be this bad, this stupid throughout the entire movie!" Spoiler-yes it can and yes it is! First, they shock her with all her clothes on?? BS! Everyone is so incompetent they didn't check out any supposed information they were given??? BS! This weeny, insipid woman is supposed to be intelligent but she has an entire house yet can't find a weapon?? She continually puts herself in harms way when there are soooo many options??? Netflix, this is what you're going with now??

The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)

Unlike some, I preferred the first half of the miniseries much more than the last half. Yes, the 2nd half explained the entire series but man, was it (IMO) boring and gaaaawd, repetitious! "She would sleep. She would wake. She would walk" uttered 5,000 freakin times??? For me it was like watching two different series. I didn't really expect it to be like the first "The Haunting if..." and it sure isn't! Nor I expect it to be so tedious that I only watched the last three episodes because I hate to finish something. But I now wish I hadn't wasted my time.

I don't understand the high ratings. This has to be one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. And it was supposed to be humorous horror? SMH Terrible acting. Lousy script. And some jerk (him) was still interested in the grouchy drunk (her) after the way she acted? Yeah, I know WHY he did but she just wasn't worth the trouble, even for a lowlife like him. I don't have enough time left to waste it on this film. 😳

I think the people ranking this monstrosity so highly are paid, have some sort of agenda or, well, everyone has a right to their opinion. Mine? It's crude, filthy and so over the top trying too hard that it's a waste of time and money. All the characters were irritating in different ways but how can anyone tolerate Tiffany Haddish? I stopped watching when two of them sprayed the crowd with h their blast of urine. Just disgusting and if they were bleeped at each filthy word, you'd only hear about 20 words.

I like Bruce Willis but this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It played like a comedy skit making fun of a over the top thriller. All the actors were hammy and unbelievable. I couldn't even finish it.

If you're bored and have a yen for a movie that moves at a snail's pace, a group a characters you don't care about, predictable as crazy and the lead actress shows the emotional equivalent of cardboard, then this is for you. For me, since I had to fast forward it just to reach the end, it was a waste of time.

I don't know why I even started watching this movie. First, I can barely tolerate Rosamund Pike. She comes off as a snotty ice princess in everything she plays. She seems to have no range, unable to give any other type of performance other than cold, bored, elitist. And then, THEN, she says she killed her father's dog??? Why the hell do people insist on killing animals just to further a boring plot-line? The man that raped her is one of those carved in stone sleazy, disgusting bullies that always kills, rapes, or somehow brutalizes women. The movie was predictable and the actors so dyed in the wool bad, I fast-forwarded through some of it. Nick Nolte was wasted in this movie.
