Warcraft (2016)
Don't get critics!
I've read a lot of reviews and I've read critic reviews of this movie. Negative reviews for stupid reasons, completely misses the whole concept of the movie. I've only been playing the game for about 4 years now and I finally watched the movie. Wow! It caught me up on a lot of things that I didn't understand. That says it's a great movie when it can teach you the background of something that you've been playing for years. I've skipped over a lot of the quick videos inside the game just to continue playing, but now I'm actually listening to them because you're getting the full story instead of just playing a game. This movie has enriched my playing of world of Warcraft.
The Canterville Ghost (2021)
The best of ALL the past Cantervilles
I've watched all of the Canterville movies. I love the book. This is the most engaging rendition of the movie. One that brings the 21st century to this fine old story. Oscar Wilde wrote in 1887 but this movie gives a renewed and not satirical rendering of this story. The English countryside filming far beats any theater attempts for this to be a play and brings that realism to see modern castles still do exist today. This performance should be pushed for more coverage since I stumbled over this movie while searching for I don't even remember. The castle front gave me the idea to watch it and am glad I did.
I think this should be the best of them all and I loved Patrick Stewart but this movie is fuller with a deeper history given.
North to Home (2022)
Best HM movie in years
This is a movie I can watch over and over again. It is a great depiction of a dysfunctional family healing through a tragedy. It includes reality such as petty jealousy between sisters, guilt and then enlightenment. It also shows the bonds of friendship and trust and how our lives are shaped by others.
Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story (2005)
Best acting to the true feelings of the film
I don't think I've ever seen Kurt Russel more true to a character. Kris Kristofferson, Dakota Fanning, Elisabeth Shue all give a cohesive portrayal of a real family. The movie is about a true horse (Mariah's Storm) who they actually mention in the movie as well as showing her son (Giant Causeway) in a separate segment.
But the story itself; is about the power of faith, healing and love.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020)
Finally non violent fun
This is a feel good, feel sad, feel life show. This show hits all the ages of music and we really need more of this. Keep this show NON-political, NON-violent, and NON- statements and it will be great.
The First (2018)
Great New Series show
I had seen the advertisements on my Hulu for over a month and then decided to watch. WOW, this is a deep multi-layered plot that keeps you glued. I missed a 3 minute section (got a text) and had to backtrack it because I suddenly lost a key piece of information. That's how I see this show, you can't miss anything because then you'll be backing up to find what you missed. I don't like treachery or deceit plots hidden within and it seems this is all about the positive and what if suspense. I hope it stays this way.
Poisoned Passions (2013)
Pretty average story
It was interesting to me until I heard something like: it was the bloodiest scene in LA to date. Sorry, Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family, lived on Cielo Drive, Los Angeles and you honestly cannot say this Wonderland murders scene is more horrific than that. Not happy with the common verbiage used to express a stronger impact on the show. Disappointed
Burlesque (2010)
Burlesque musicality
Cher at her very best in voice and in acting. I love this woman and her talent. She is a blessing in sound to our species and we should all be blessed to hear her sing. I would love to hear Cher dedicate an album of deep religious/patriotic songs. Why? Because that will take her legacy even farther out.
I have never been a musical fan of Christina Aguilera, but this movie really showcased her ability. She truly has the voice of a miracle and ONLY Cher could upstage her in that direction. She's never going to be better than Cher but she certainly will carry on that same fortitude of voice flavor.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Entertainment at its best
Why hasn't the HP series won more awards? The cinematography is phenomenal. Content is true if you watch the whole scene and not just listen to the actors. The entire series is true to the writer. When watching the movie you see more from the book than you hear, just look around each scene. GOF was a difficult book to translate into a movie. As we go further into Hogwarts years, the more challenging it becomes to give everyone everything. If there's a any constructive criticism to state it would be that there was a missing connection with Sirius. Sirius' relationship with Harry was a strong GOOD and Hermione referencing to reporting to Siruis just wasn't enough but I can understand only referencing since that probably would have made the movie another 45 minutes long...of course, that would have been fine for me.
From the moment the first scene shows the "snake" slithering through the field up to the house, you reflect back to the book. To those who have read the books, this one is another spoonful of the lives of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and my appetite is just beginning. Another success for Rowlings and Kloves into the world of good and bad and the magical connections created from paper to screen.
I'm not one to read these kinds of books, but I can't wait for book 7. Michael Goldenberg is the screenplay writer for HP Order of the Phoenix. I hope his vision will maintain the integrity that Steven Kloves has given for the first 4. We'll see in 2007. GREAT movie series, all four movies are a must see for everyone.
