Harry Hill is terrible and annoying
30 September 2022
The kids are funny and clever, the host is just awful. Just about anyone would be better. One kid joked that he was going to be the presenter next year, and that would be a MUCH better show. I think the kids only laugh at what Harry does and days because they're uncomfortable and don't understand. If Harry has writers, they should be fired too. Most of the jokes don't even register with the kids... or they do understand and just think it's too dumb to laugh. It's pretty hilarious when the kids put Harry down though. It's also super annoying that he introduces the judges the exact same way every time. He's not amusing to adults. He's not amusing to kids. Therefore he's completely making a decent show unnecessarily annoying. Just a horrible choice. He must have blackmail on a producer.

Not great for anxiety
21 April 2022
I'd say you shouldn't watch this show if you're feeling anxious. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but both seasons were fairly triggering. It's a fairly interesting show, but it's also pretty chaotic and frustrating while dealing with heavy issues. I don't hate that I watched it, but I have no desire to ever watch it again. It also ruined that Harry Nilsson song forever.

Mostly disappointing
14 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At least two people were smart enough to get out of their bad relationships. I feel really sorry for Lauren and Madlyn, since they stuck with particularly unfortunate partners. Couldn't bring myself to watch the reunion episode... just too sad.

Lucie and Maura are fantastic
14 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Unfortunately they had to be in season 5 with a bunch of immature, unpleasant, toxic, and exhausting girls like Amber, Anna, Amy and Molly-mae. I'm glad I skipped to the end after Lucie left, cause I was really just waiting for Amber to get kicked out. Really disappointing someone that awful won. I found her and Anna especially toxic and immature. It's a real lesson in what kind of girl to avoid.

Hateful nasty toxic people
6 April 2022
I keep watching trashy reality shows hoping that the terrible people will face consequences while the decent people triumph. When will I learn?

The real lesson of this show is how toxic a victim mentality can be. And unfortunately it gets rewarded in this show. Highly disappointing.

Officially lost interest
4 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a few episodes into season 3, and just can't seem to muster up enough motivation to keep watching. Maybe I'm just not the target audience, or maybe it's because it's fairly boring. Mostly nothing happens and very little gets explained. Maybe they'll explain how she can magically conjure up dead babies (or make them disappear) later in season three, but I just don't care anymore.

The mom is the worst. I don't blame the actor, I just hate the character. And I feel really sorry for the husband. And I don't understand why anyone would actually want a baby... especially that badly. Or how anyone could be that psychotic and delusional. The mom is like watching the Johnny Depp version of Willy Wonka... if Willy had decided Charlie was actually his dead son. She's the real scary part of this show. The cult is just kind of background noise to the horror story of a chef who married the wrong person and the people who got sucked into his mess.

The only good thing about this series is Rupert Grint snorting cocaine while attempting an American accent. But then he stopped the drugs, and the funny accent just isn't enough to ease the boredom anymore.

If they would have released all the episodes at once, I probably would have watched them all. The momentum would have just carried me through like it did with the first 2 seasons. But giving me a week to think about whether or not I want to keep watching was enough to make realize that I'm not curious about what happens next. I'm guessing nothing much will happen until towards the end of the season, when a lot will happen, not much will be explained, and the explosion of excitement will try to get another season made. Unless a lot of people die and the whole premise of the show changes, it's just not going to be very fulfilling. So I'll just stop watching now and save myself the frustration and disappointment.

If they did a spinoff with Rupert and the nanny, I might watch that. But the other characters don't keep my attention much.

Slow, boring, and emotionless
21 February 2022
There's a lot of shots of the main girl walking very slowly and staring blankly at things. Then every now and then something happens. I never felt much emotional connection to anyone. At the end, all I felt was indifferent. The song selections all felt awkward and out of place too. I doubt there will be a second season, but if there is, I definitely won't waste my time watching it.

Good concept, but that's not enough
14 February 2022
I haven't gotten through all of season 2 yet, and probably won't. Mainly I just keep thinking about how much I dislike the main character and the girl (Eliza Taylor) who plays her. She really can't act. If I already really want her to die in season 2, then it's probably not worth finishing all 7.

The other really annoying thing is how people can completely change character. The writing gets pretty absurd.

Once I pulled up the IMDB page and realized it was a CW show, it all made sense. It's just a soap opera for teens, like all their other shows.

But honestly, I'd probably keep watching if it wasn't for Eliza Taylor and/or the people writing her character.

No sense of justice
31 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After watching season 3 (I don't remember anything about the first two) I feel like there was no consequences for the two most blatantly selfish people. It would be so much more satisfying to watch a show like this where awful people face justice. The show came really close to giving people what they deserved, and then completely backtracked. Pretty frustrating.

Modern soda cans
29 January 2022
Great show. No complaints except for some attention to details. Mainly the soda cans were obviously wrong. In 94, they didn't have as long of a shoulder at the top as they do currently. Also the Fanta in one scene had a widemouth top, which definitely didn't exist in 94. But apparently the camera she was using didn't exist till 98, so obviously product placement was more important than accuracy. And there is a lot of product placement. But it's excusable because it was enjoyable to watch.

Anxiety attacks are not paranormal
23 January 2022
This show is mildly entertaining. They basically spend most of the show building up their fear, and then they go have anxiety attacks in scary locations. But they obviously don't realize they're having anxiety attacks, so they call it paranormal. They do capture some good stuff now and then, but would probably capture more if they'd use more equipment instead of just calling out into the dark and hyperventilating. I'd like to see an episode where they all take a Xanax.

Really bad (but not in a good way)
17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is some of the worst writing and acting I've seen in a long time. I turned it off after an hour because nothing about it made me care how it ended. I felt no emotional connection to the protagonists and no fear of the bad guys. Even the fight scenes were really dumb and uninteresting. It felt like a bad student film. The title makes it sound like some clever, well prepared dude was going to outsmart and outlast the daunting enemy. Instead it was basically a bunch of unprepared, unskilled morons duking it out awkwardly in-between really stupid, unnatural lines that were delivered poorly. Writing this review about how much I hated this movie was definitely a better use of time than watching the last half hour of it would have been.

Warning: Spoilers
This ending makes me wish I never watched any of New Blood. What a waste of time. Thanks for nothing Showtime. Don't bother with a second season. No one cares about the son.
