The Rig (2023)
Broke my own rules.....
I should have known this was going to be poor. My rule is to never watch a new show that are this heavily promoted. It usually just means they are trying to attract a good audience before the word or mouth gets out, about how bad the show is, and this one is a turkey.
The cast looks pretty good, but even could actors can do nothing with such a poor and childish script.
The whole thing looks to have been filmed in a shed, in East London, and the CGI graphics of the rig and see are dire.
At one point the OIM tried to wave to a boat, a few miles away, from the top of the RIG.
Internet never went off, but all communications did. They could have just sent an email to shore. It did go off for a zoom call, but the bosses could still see all the other rigs were having issues. Poor writing.
Watched all the first epsiode, wil not be watching any more. This is one to AVOID.
Reacher (2022)
Perfect
I was so looking forward to this show, but with trepidation that it would be for Karens and snowflakes.
How wrong was I. The have nailed it, it is very faithful to the book and the characters. A proper show for adults, with some quality, real life violence.
Seen 5 of the series so far, but loving it. It's a shame I read this book twice, as I know whats coming.
Alan as Reacher is great casting, could be a bit uglier, but thats genetics for you !!!
Great great show, already looking forward to the next series.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Wait !!!!
Just started watching this, why don;t we just wait , and take the 30 years to prepare for the alien invasion knowing they are coming!!
The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch (2020)
Nasa Enginner using tin cans and string !!!!
I cannot believe how fake this show his. In episode 1, you can see Travis Struggling with the fake obstructions put in his way. I was hoping he would resist and use some serious and string testing, But my god, he has sold out.
They put a massive magnet under an Iphone, and were shocked when the picture was a bit distorted.
They used washed out coffer can and some "devices" that looked like props from star trek ( the original series) and some red string, traingulated from three points on the ranch to prove the mystery forces were exactly a mile up. They then sent up a weather ballon, that blew away and the immediate conclusion was it had to be something of this world. Did they attempt to recreate and use recognised scientific procedures to test. No course not, that would to sensible.
What about the neanderthal security guard who won't put is shotgun down. Only thing of value are the big screens and the helicopter pad.?
A "scientist" who says it is not of this world, because they got a strange RF signal. Think they should be checking the kitchen to see if the microwave oven door is shut properly. And they need to check the batteries in the laser, and turn off and on the drone bluetooth controller, to get it to reconnect. The whole show is comical.
The whole show is a joke. Most likely a bit of radiation from nuclear tests. Some gases leaking from the caves, that there detectors are not set for. Rocks that reflect light. And an "oasis" effect from a town behind the ridge.
Oh, went into a basement, and randomly knocked a hole in the wall, between the cupboards, which opened up into a secret room, which might have human bones in it.
The most shocking thing is Travis, why the hell he got caught up in this rubbish is very suprising. He must have a TAX bill to pay or he wants a new swimming pool.
Full English Breakfast (2014)
Total Rubbish
Just watched this film, for free, thank God. What a load of predictable and stupid rubbish.
The script, storyline and acting are truly awful. What makes it even harder to watch is ALL the sound effects and dialogue appear to have been over dubbed onto the film, so any acting that was done is lost!!.
The acting is really bad, the story is even worse.
I have to agree with other comments about the fake reviews. When you look at all the reviews scoring this film highly, ALL the reviewers joined IMDb in April 2014 !!!!!!
I recommend everyone avoid this film, unless their house or a friend is in the background, cos there is no other reason to waste any time on this film. It really, really is rubbish. I am sure the film people didn't set out to make a bad film, but it should have been shelved. It is not a film to have on a CV.
Revolution (2012)
Don't. Bother........
I was quite looking forward to this show, usually enjoy Abrams stuff, although super 8mm was bad.
The show idea sounds great but to then jump 15 years into the future killed it for me. Where were all the candle coming from. The acting is terrible and wooden. The plot holes are huge, it really is a show for kids to be shown at teatime.
The first fight scenes had CGI blood and people getting thrown up in the air from a crossbow bolt in the chest. Did anyone else notice the CGI deer that looked like they were created on and commodore 64 in 1980.
They walked god knows how many miles to Chicago, walked straight into the city centre and guess what the very very first person they talk too is the very person they are looking for.
Promised so much this show and delivers nothing on any level at all.
Avoid it at all costs.
Super 8 (2011)
Rubbish, advertised to adults, made for kids
Take out the swearing and this film would be a U rating. A poor rip off of the Goonies and ET. Think as an audience we were supposed to be sympathetic and emotional, but none of the characters were interesting enough to care about. Not sure if this was a kids film with added swearing to get the rating up to appeal to an older age group.
Considering the pedigree of Spielberg and Abrhams this is a poor effort as a summer blockbuster.
Think this film was slung together to get a bit of cash in to pay the studio's electricity bill.
I broke all my own rules, which is never go see a film that is heavily advertised, studios don't like spending money and only advertise poor films, word of mouth sells good movies.
Impossible to write a spoiler for this film, as everything that happens is so obvious you can see a plot twist from the cinema car park.
