Miss Violence (2013)
8/10
It took me a while to digest "Miss Violence".
4 December 2020
My Rating: 8/10

I cant lie, after watching this movie I literally felt nauseous. The psychological and physical abuse depicted in the film is extremely raw and literal that, personally speaking, I had a hard time to digest afterwards.

I really found disturbing to acknowledge the extent of abuse a parent can inflict to their childern and the indulgence someone can show to their abuser.

I don't believe this is a film for everybody's taste, but I would suggest to give it a try, as such films, as this one, as much as disturbing they can get, as much thought provoking they can be...

A fascinating, but uncomfortable movie
13 July 2020
Don't get me wrong I really liked this movie, the direction and screenwriting was great; made me feel a bit proud that my country is producing such liberating and artistic projects. However, as much as I liked the plot and the storyline when the movie came to an end I was left with a really uncomfortable feeling. Reading the reviews to find probably a hint of what really bothered me, I was shocked to see that everyone kind of "blamed" the girl (Anna) about what happen to her; but I am not here to talk about that... In my opinion, the movie gives an opposing feeling of what summer vacation is usually depicted in Greece and I guess this is what made me feel uncomfortable. Tourists come to the greek islands to experience feelings of carelessness and liberation, but the movie shifts these feelings into something completely dark and twisted. You never really know who you will meet in a place that looks like a paradise, even if that person looks completely harmless.

WELL DONE!
12 April 2020
This series doesn't only get your eyes locked on the screen for hours but you get to experience the whole story from within. I watched the whole thing in one day, because I couldn't wait until I found out what happen. But what I truly believe about this series is that is not just an other crime story. Its a story that depicts the reality that we live in. How people treat each other and the sad truth about how the system and society works.

The whole plot is so well thought and directed. It plays with your emotions, letting you become a detective yourself, as the story unfolds, waver to know what is the truth until the end! Very engaging and a true crime/drama! Well done.
