No Escape Room (2018)
It was an interesting concept but...
The acting was subpar but not really an issue.
I really enjoyed the idea of a haunted escape room instead of the normal torture theme these type of movies generally have. However, they really needed to develop the father daughter relationship more and expand on who the inventor was and what type of experiments he did. And wtf happened to Andrew and what was up with the dad being pulled into a painting. It just needed some more focus and exposition overall.
I also think it wouldn't have benefited from expanding on the echoes idea, probably one of the best parts was when Melanie was separated from the group and answered the phone and you got to hear what Tyler heard on the phone earlier in the movie.
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
I mean it's interesting but insulting
All the nut job conspiracy theorists that they interview had me screaming at the tv, "She's manic!". They are trying to find something that isn't there. Just because they don't understand what a manic episode is and that paranoia, delusions, and psychosis can go hand-in-hand with an episode and Elisa Lam's behavior doesn't mean that it wasn't a huge contributing factor; yes it's strange but if you've experienced mania everything she did makes complete sense.
Pyewacket (2017)
It Was Okay...Definitely A Slow Burn
What kind of teenage girls have a sleepover where one sleeps on the couch downstairs?
And who texts using quotation marks?
The Silence (2019)
Netflix Series Crossover
After a spell goes awry, Aunt Zelda & Sabrina are forced to reenact A Quiet Place with an 80s B movie creature feature budget, comparatively speaking.
