The Simpsons: Meat Is Murder (2022)
Season 33, Episode 21
1/10
One of the worst episodes of the Season.
25 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Season 33 has had some really great episodes but this one isn't one of them. The 'Worth A Try Burger' gag was only funny the first time. Corporates take ownership of Krustyburger after Gus from Worth A Try Burger buys him out. The first part of the episode is cool, there is a nice bondage between Grandpa and Lisa, then Krusty is unable to use his own show and makes a new one with copyright free names. Instead of continuing this plot, the story focuses on a really long and drowned out B story which ends up being the entire episode about corporate ownership. The guest stars in this episode is a mess. We have John Lithgow and some TikTok dancer i've never heard of or cared about. The TikTok influencer made the rest of the episode boring as the plot shifted to all about her instead. What happened to Krusty?! I did not laugh for the whole 20 minutes... It's one of these parody specific themed episodes. I really hate these kind of episodes. . Would have been funnier if they continued the bootleg Krusty story. I don't need to watch it again.

The Simpsons: I, Carumbus (2020)
Season 32, Episode 2
1/10
Just boring.
7 January 2022
So if you don't get the parody this episode will probably mean nothing to you. The episode is a parody of the novel I, Claudius. The problem with this episode, is that it just focuses on the one story. There is no usual A or B sideplot this time round. This makes the episode drown out and become very boring quickly. One problem I seem to be noticing with modern Simpsons is if the writers are out of ideas they make a parody episode. But there are too many parody episodes. Michael Palin is the Museum Guide , so of course they parodied the movie. For the entire episode none of the jokes made me laugh. I found the plot incredibly boring and the setting very uninteresting which goes on and on. Marge, for some reason is very out of character in this episode too, being a bit too impulsive than she normally is while they're at the museum.

The only funny part was the bit a the end but too late because I found the episode unforgettable and bland.

A breath of fresh air for the Paranormal Activity franchise
16 November 2021
I didn't even know there was a new Paranormal Activity movie until a few days ago. I expected the same old stuff. How wrong I was. So this new film "Next Of Kin" is actually more of a reboot of the franchise and a stand alone sequel, rather than a direct sequel of the past 5 films. This is exactly what this film series needed, As always relying on the same backstory of the 'Katie my house is haunted' for these past several movies was getting a bit boring.

This film, this time round, takes place on location in a very creepy Amish community. There's actually good acting in this film for once as well. The main characters are actually likeable.

It feels as there is more of a script this time round, but not like it's a bad thing. The writing for the film is superb. The movie's pacing is done very well, and usually leaves you on the edge of your seat. It has a few really cool plot twists as well, some I won't go over in the review. Watch it to find out for yourself. This movie actually feels more like an X Files story, which is pretty cool.

Then we have the monsters. In this movie, it's really cool how the monsters are represented as people, and this time, for once, you actually see them. Even the film's main monster & demon is pretty scary, and you see it too. Unlike the past several films, where you didn't see the demon / ghost. It's as if they knew what the fans were wanting of this series after all this time and finally put everything in this one.

Another thing I have to mention that was done very well, was the atmospheric lighting and overall creepy mood. Especially the eerie red lighting from the Amish candles. The two main elderly Amish people do a fantastic job with setting up the creepy vibe factor to 100%, and the film's 2nd half escalates even further..

Though there is a fair amount of dialogue in this movie there's also a fair amount of scary scenes too, and I think it's done much better than the previous installments.

It is a shame this film never got a theatrical release, due to the COVID pandemic. It would have been great seeing it in the cinemas as it deserved. I hope when further restrictions ease, this movie can be played in the cinemas. I saw it on Paramount+. The main goal of "Next of Kin" was to reboot the franchise as a stand alone sequel. I think they did a great job with it. I hope if more are maide, they continue with this story, or make different stand alone sequels with the same production crew. I think they work well.

Please give this movie a chance. You don't have to watch the other films to see this one. I really enjoyed it, coming in not expecting much, I was actually very satisfied with how it all turned out. I've so far seen it twice.

The Simpsons: Every Man's Dream (2015)
Season 27, Episode 1
1/10
A really bad series premiere.
14 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"Every Man's Dream" is the first episode of the 27th season of The Simpsons and I think it's the worst episode i've seen by far. It's another one of those "Homer & Marge have an argument and their marriage is in shambles" episodes, that have already been done to death. You know they always get back together. And after all of the events that happen it was only a dream anyway ! WHAT?! The jokes weren't funny and I didn't care for any of the guests or new characters in this episode. At least I only watched it once.

The Simpsons: Kamp Krustier (2017)
Season 28, Episode 16
2/10
Not as good as I hoped
13 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I was quite hopeful for the "Kamp Krustier" episode of the Simpsons but when I watched it I was let down. Once again the writers chose the very frustratingly generic plot of Homer & Marge's Marriage breaking down. It's pretty much them trying to have sex for 20 minutes. The writers are obviously bored or perverted. But the problem is a story like this in the Simpsons has been done already dozens of times, if not done to death. Hardly any of the episode had to do with the original Kamp Krusty except for a small back story which Bart and Lisa became Traumatised. This story should have been the leader for the episode not stuff that Homer & Marge were going through, most of the plot was actually unrelated to Kamp Krusty entirely. Yes they come back but its now a service for adults (for whatever reason?). The flash back scenes were annoying and adding in a random new character Charlie who was with Bart and Lisa on the boat and they thought he got knocked out but he didn't and he's still alive. And there is another Simpsons character which nobody probably cares about nor will likely see again. I don't even recall Charlie being in the original episode of Season 4. I was hoping this episode the Writers would focus more on the gang going Back to the camp more often. Instead it was not very funny, one of the Simpsons episodes i've barely laughed in and I overall thought it was incredibly depressing, and disappointing. They could have had an opportunity to make this episode good but they didn't. When Homer became a productive worker that was funny for the first 5 minutes but then the gag started getting stretched to the point where it got annoying.

The Powerpuff Girls (2016–2023)

Powerpuff Girls 2016 Version
25 September 2016
OK hear me out. I grew up watching the original Powerpuff Girls by Craig McCracken in the 90s. I got very excited when they are remaking the Powerpuff Girls for 2016. I have seen the first season. So what if there are different voice actors. So what if they have a different theme song? I actually like the new theme song a lot better than the old one. It actually has words and lyrics - no offense to the old show. One of my favorite things, the animation pretty much close to the original. Unlike that weird 2013 reboot with the dodgy square over the top 3D animation that looks a bit weird. This is a very good action packed series with new and old characters such as Professor and The Mayor, Tom Kenny reprises his role. I like the new voice actors. and the show is very funny. I don't have a problem with this new reboot. Give it a chance !

Stranger Things (2016–2025)
3/10
Stranger Things are the reviews for this show...
12 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
"9/10!" the reviews state on IMDb and other news publicity sites. I like Science Fiction and lots of people have been talking about Stranger Things on netflix. It's a show that is influenced by 80's sci- fi and action movies. Everything about this is from the 80s. It's basically for nostalgia-philes. Friends recommended me this show because I like the X Files. I checked out the first episode. It seemed to have OK action scenes. The monster, whatever it was, seemed pretty cool, but you rarely see it. Most of the show is Drama. I got really annoyed at the actors very quickly (Except for the reluctant cop Jim Hopper played by David Harbour, whom I thought was quite funny) Winona Ryder (Will's mother) really irritates me. Her over acting is unnecessary. It's filled with cheesy 80s nostalgia and Hollywood B-Grade movie Clichés. I was expecting better, but I don't think i'd stick around for this one.

School of Rock (2016–2018)
4/10
I was expecting "Rock Music"
25 August 2016
I enjoyed the 2003 original "School of Rock" movie, when Nickelodeon announced they are making a series based on the film I was quite interested. The cast looked similar but the songs weren't sounding right. They all sound like modern Pop songs. They aren't rock songs. Where is the "in your face" attitude that the original movie had which make me felt like they were in a rock band? This is just sappy pop stuff. I expected better from Nickelodeon but then I guess we have seen another show with the "Disney curse". Nickelodeon are trying to copy the style of Disney's shows because that's how Disney became "successful" in the 21st century. These are sad times really. Also is that really her voice or are they using Auto Tune? I know this show is for kids but it would be better if they would be introduced to ACTUAL rock music.

This Movie Is Stupid
17 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
(This review contains spoilers!) This movie is stupid. The characters are stupid. The dog is stupid. The aliens are stupid. When I thought this was going to be a movie about Aliens killing everybody how wrong was I. It started off good but then it just got annoying. And the people were annoying. Most of the movie isn't about the aliens at all but about the semi-awful romance plot between two main characters. Then I got really bored / annoyed at the main characters so much and then waited impatiently for them all to die. I was disappointed that the film wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. 100 minutes of my life I don't know how i'm going to get back.
