Kids was an absolute masterpiece. This doc is perfect for this era of whine. I wish Larry Clark would have come to Canarsie and made a film about me and my friends.

All Too Well: The Short Film
(2021)
Instant classic
13 November 2021
Game changing music video in the same league as Thriller or any other groundbreaking short film music film. Taylor Swift can add writing and directing to her list of talents. She demonstrates more than enough here to suggest that she absolutely has the chops. Also it's shot on 35mm. A woman after my own heart.
The Hollywood Knights
(1980)
Hilarious from start to finish

Classic 80's comedy (when people actually had a sense of humor) with an early appearance by the stunning Fran Drescher. Caught this on HBO when I was 14 and it burned into my memory. Watched it again recently and I laughed just as hard as I did in 1980.
The Many Saints of Newark

A total misfire

When I watched The Sopranos I never felt like it was a bad stereotypical portrayal of Italian Americans. The characters were varied from the educated and professional to street people. It was well written and acted. This film however made me cringe at how bad it made Italians look. At times it was really cartoony. Top that off with a subplot about unrest in the black community which was completely out of place. It's just an utter and complete mess of a film.
Mr. Corman
(2021)
A little too experimental for my taste

It starts out as a dry dark sort off single guy in LA story but after a few episodes it gets bogged down by its experimental nature. I really can't imagine who the audience is for this. I'd be shocked if there were a second season.
Fourteen

Disappointing

I don't like to be critical of independent film because I admire the DIY approach to art. This film suffers from a dreary palate (digital) and rough sound. The actors all sound like they're reading lines. The budget is listed at 95,000 which seems high for what's on the screen. If they said it was made for 3,000 I would believe it. As for the story there isn't much of one or characters that are interesting or charismatic.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
(2008–2013)
Excellent

It's always great to come upon a show you missed the first time around and have 120 episodes ahead of you. From episode one I can tel this more than the run of the mill high school show and it's not shock value filled like a lot of modern day offerings. Shailene Woodley has gone on to become a fine actress and she's excellent here. It's also great to see Molly Ringwald in the genre she become an Icon for.
The High Note

The high note was the closing credits

Enough with the pop culture conversations. We get it: you grew up in America. One day Don Johnson's daughter will be casted along side a con star she has chemistry with. To date it hasn't happened. Oh yeah and the songs are not good.
