Man on Fire (2004)
Awesome film spoiled by terrible editing
I don't understand why are there so much of cuts , styles, flashes, slowing of footage, speeding up every 5 seconds. The fact that the kid relationship with body guard is more strengthened showing how much tough he is on killing the ones who were involved but that is totally spoiled by the cuts the wonderful camera work as well is spoiled. I had a headache in the mean half hour of watching it, damn flashes cuts throughout the movie
Sufiyum Sujatayum (2020)
Amateurish and pathetic.
Prime and Netflix has become a dumpyard for such garbage
Dead to Me (2019)
Reduced my rating from 8 to 4. They just streched out season 2!
It need not have a season two first of all. But then the writers did wanna switch what was judy to Jen now. But while it did have a good direction in the beginning, after the vigil things just went directionless. Vague characters coming in and leaving without creating an impact makes it even more boring. Seriously, you did not have to pull in so much towards the end. Judy with her mom, Jen and her teenage son misunderstandings while we totally forgot her second kid roaming around the entire time, the stop sign was streched out in an entirely which was no needed at all. Seriously, I am just waiting to end this for the respect I have for season one.
One Day: Justice Delivered (2019)
Meh!!!! Female cop makes the film even more worse
It appears that indian cinema wants to desperately show empowerment by making strong female characters in tough roles, but that isn't the problem, if that is done, atleast choose a good cast. This already predictable film which was going in a slow pace with Anupam Kher with whatever small intrest it had was erased after some stupid female character showed up. The film would have been way to interesting if the cop had been some kind of tough in real. It was a very bad acting from the rest of the actors that led the film down even more
Living with Yourself (2019)
SURPRISE FROM NETFLIX!!!! BINGED IT!
I was initially under thought with the title and the poster that this is gonna be an other show that is going to dress up your common sense and present it to you the way you want to hear it on how to live with yourself and make yourself feel elated. But it was completely otherwise, wow! A lot many titles similar to this has a very serious genre and this one took it by surprise to have a very simple plot, neatly done with a smooth screenplay on explaining every character which are again limited but have a quality role.
Paul Rudd especially does his very best ever making him an extraordinary actor and well talented. A very well made show, that any high budget movie that is on the cloning would have definitely screwed it up.
The Good Place (2016)
The first season was surprisingly good. Binged it!
I didn't have much expectations on it, thought it to be a regular soap opera but then it turned out to be refreshing different view in a comedy series. You just have one concept and the entire characters revolving around it having sharp transition points in the story. The downside of it however it appeared like watching a drama but did not get me bored. Binged the first season and probably would watch the second one for Jameela.
This Is Us: Strangers (2019)
I kind of lost hope on this one, but it came as a good comeBack!
A lot of new characters and I am not sure how many more generations of Pearson's family are we gonna be potrayed considering its renewed for 2 more seasons. While season 3 was becoming more dull every episode of which was just repeating itself in the name of emotions and Expecting just the same in season4 , may be the character refresh has bought a new life to the dull never changing faces in the last three seasons. Looking forward for more. Please do not screw up this one too
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
An insane, fresh, enjoyable journey throughout
I never had much expectations before watching this and I just jumped into some random channel that had this movie going on. Well, as I go deeper into their journey where they find little pieces about themselves that is humour, sad, unforgiving, informative, happiness and a mixture of all these realizing yes, finding pieces about ourselves in every move of ours whether good or bad is going to teach us something and it's worth is the theme which is so good and much needed refresh.
This Is Us (2016)
It started out well until 3rd season came in
My Initial rating for this show was 9/10. This had the best pilot and the first two seasons were insanely good. The edits, the screen play, the cast and the acting was fresh, emotional, very intuitive and had the originality to it. This would have still been good if they had not extended the show to even season 2 by delaying the reason for JACK's death. Season 2 was still fine but after that renewing this show is just spoiling the awesomeness that it had, the characters lack originality now, the scenarios appear like made up and not in flow. I made myself watch season 3 expecting that it would turn out to be good but in vain. While I come to know that this had been renewed for 3 more seasons till season 6, I am sure they are just making this amazing show an other garbage.
La casa de papel: La deriva (2019)
This suggests there will be PART 4 which is WAAAAARRRRR:
This episode can't get better. It equally has a super good officer in charge who knows the right tacticts and a professor in charge of his team.
Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Not a may be movie! It's a must watch
This was honestly a very smooth, sensible and just surprising. I just went ahead and hit it up after hearing out from a colleague. This was a very light and refreshing movie that you should probably watch it on a lazy Sunday afternoon and get out the very evening with all the feeling.
Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too (2019)
What the hell did I just watch?
Did I watch a animation movie for kids?I cant beleive this episode got approved to be featured in the black mirror. I do not even understand what the episode was trying to say. Its not black mirror any more, this is some fun episode for kids. Something very wrong with the black mirror team.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
A yet powerful message with an intense story line!
Eversince the roleplay took over the internet, I remember the game where there is quiz and each right answer, the girl would take her clothes off, these roleplaying games had advanced into action, romance and every other genre and Literally the single player games that exhibit the first person view makes one feel exactly in the scene even without the VR, whether or not your gender is opposite to to the gender in the game.
This episode clearly takes the roleplaying to an other level, where indeed at once you get so involved into it that at one point, you literally fall in love with the virtual character than the real.
Maharshi (2019)
178 minutes totally unjustified for this plot
He is a techie, he is a top student, he is a CEO , he is an activist. Some sentiments , some punch dialogues, some songs and some breakups and sad background music. If you put Bharath e nenu film on one side of Xerox in color, the other end of it is Maharshi.
Avoid if you are not a Mahesh Babu fan!
Our Planet (2019)
Breath Taking and Amazing Visual and Oh! Its not just that
This series right from the very first episode shows how earth as a planet is so complex and tightly coupled with nature as to how they support and thrive and get the life going in the most complex cycle that is involved which is so beyond understanding unless made an effort. This series has made that effort to explain this complex cycle breaking down into simpler episodes with amazing visuals and narrative that everyone not just understand the cycle of billions of different life forms and nature but also puts an effort that you appreciate the vast diversity of our planet. A MUST WATCH! 10/10
Rishta.com (2010)
Such a delightful and progressive series. A must watch!
I can't believe when India was having Internet GPRS, We had a television series based on Internet matrimonial service. This series has been way ahead of its time where the employees of rishta.com are exactly working how the algorithms of today's matrimonial websites work.
An old series but still has a good pace to watch in 2019 too.
I am glad this came at 2010 else this series would have got stuck in the unlimited feminist, meninist, chauvinist kind of debates these days.
Dirty John (2018)
Creepy till the end.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this show. The first two episodes appeared like some sort of a dating drama and I had a bad feeling about whether should I stop watching it. The show proves you wrong from the third episode onwards. It's very creepy till the end it will just keep you glued to it. John character potrayel has been done with excellent screenplay and editing that makes you easily understand.
I expected a very dramatic ending but again, I was proven wrong. It's just one season and 8 episodes with insanely slick direction and story line. Absolutely worth it.
Wanted (2016)
If you love GTA game, you will like this.
Well it's a regular hit and run TV series. Like GTA the can choose a helicopter, take bikes, drive random cars, leave country, come back to country, come out of prison with bounty and what not.
But definitely does not make you feel bored though.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Okay! The Ghost of the christmas Past Revisted
Okay! So this is not gonna be a normal haunting story or a haunting house that would kill people or too much blood and make people panic every second. The story takes its own time to build about each tiny aspect that forms a solid connections in the later part of the story, so one has gotta be very patient in first 5 episodes to make it out. Has an excellent screenplay, Camera work and actors My god have done a tremendous Job, gotta thank netflix for getting this up to being popular. Coming back to the story line, the last three epsiodes though it did have sensible connections, the dialogues lyrical part of it was so much to that of reading a book, like the patterns of sentences, the rhyming, not sure if it was intentional. The screenplay was slow enough the dialogues well.
At the end, this one is the ghost of the christmas past, the present and the future, all of them which is within you but you don't see it until you really have to.
Once Again (2018)
Smooth and refreshing
You just watch and get along with it. A movie to watch once again if you just leave everything and go as the tide or the intensity in the movie takes you at its own pace. Background score and cast is the most refreshing part.
Ribbon (2017)
Starts with a concept and ends in another
Well, the story started off really good with the realities and challenges faced by two working couples in raising a child. It had very minute details about each phases in life. However it ends up in some other concept? Or is it for the viewer to assume or decide?
Good one time watch
Designated Survivor (2016)
Started Great but Lost the potential
It started out intense, the capital bombing and some low administration worker elected to be the president. I expected it to have the same intensity showing the character evolving through various struggles. But as the story evolved, it more of appeared like more than the characters in it evolving, it was dealing with the day to day problems in the American city and the people. The second show hardly has any new characters and I have no idea how few characters die in between or even why. How quickly kirkman turns around things and becomes loveable end of the day. This series need not even be continous, it is like black mirror with each episode having a new problem for kirkman? Where is his son? where is his daughter? what happen to his family after wife's death?
Very weak unexplained plot.
