I watched this gem last night and cried towards the end of it. What happened to the characters in the movie touched me deeply. And I'm not even a black person or living in America.
But I understand what it means to grow up in trauma and be surrounded by people who are living in a survival mode. Those 'kids' who decided to take their lives in their own hands and defend themselves with guns were in survival mode.
And I don't blame them. That was all they knew. To fight back and defend themselves and their territory. Brilliant movie and I especially loved Ice Cube's character. He was a beast and probably the best role I've seen him in.
