Hostile (2017)
Whether it was bad or good it kept me watching.
Most movies if you don't get me within the first 10 minutes, I'm out. First of all I'm a fan of dystopian and post apocalypse movies, so it got my attention for over 10 minutes, there were deep sigh moments (the can we get the story moving sighs), but it kept me watching, and after a certain point I felt committed to see it through to the end. While I was watching I'm thinking to myself, is it so bad that I'm watching or is it just good enough to keep me watching, whether it's the former or the latter, I didn't regret the watch, but I wish I would've watched a better movie with that time, talk about opportunity costs!!! If you're watched out on the latest or streaming and you want to watch something for the sake of watching, this isn't a bad fare, keep in mind it's a low budget movie with decent writing and decent acting and the story keeps going just enough for you to not bail out.
Fugget About It (2012)
Discovered on Tubi and no regrets!!!
Looking for something new to watch and I'm like what the heck is this? Never heard of this show must've been on an obscure cable channel then when I googled it found out it was a Canadian show. It's married with children meets family guy meets South Park. So glad I found this gem. Highly recommend to anyone that loves low brow humor and aren't PC. And for those that gave it a low rating what the heck were you expecting? An animated Masterpiece theatre? I wish some of these wannabe roger eberts would create a show so we can critique their masterpiece. To them I ask the question if you rated it so low why did you keep watching? Or are you one of those people that want to be different and bring the average rating down?
Gran Torino (2008)
Screw the politically correct crowd!!!
My father was a veteran of the Korean War. I'm Korean American. I met many American Korean war veterans and they talk like him, they're hard ass softies. Tough exterior with a heart of gold love how he slowly allowed himself to be himself. A must watch don't listen to the PC police we must know there are people that talk like him in real life. The problem with PC police is that they think they're protecting us from the world sheen we should know these type of things exist. He exposed the Asian hate culture before it happened. A totally definite must watch.
Major League (1989)
Best baseball movie ever!!!
People say Bull Durham is the best baseball movie ever. I respectfully disagree. I went to see this movie with my friend who is not a baseball fan, he loved it, to me that's proof it's a fantastic movie.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
To me Nobody is better than Kirk!!
I tried to get into TNG and other Star Trek spin-offs they all sucked IMHO until Discovery. All the other spin offs tried to be dramatic for the sake of being dramatic. Whoever hates on the captain being black are closet racists.
Paintball Massacre (2020)
If there was a zero I would give it a zero!
All I can say is I want my time back. No jitter moments. No suspense. No sense of urgency. When they made it back to the office and got the keys why the hell didn't they drive to the nearest phone? Instead they stupidly went back to confront the killer.
Tian · Huo (2019)
80's style no way that's possible action scenes.
Was impressed with the special effects not knowing how good or bad overseas production can be. Although there seemed to be no chemistry amongst the actors especially the father/daughter but I digress. I enjoyed the Ni's Tao of watching a movie with the 80's style no way that's possible action scenes. It also had the 80's style bad "good" acting.
Chick Fight (2020)
A guilty pleasure
Fell in love with Malik Ackerman from the final girls. For those expecting Shakespeare, watch Shakespeare theater. For those wanting a 90 minute escape this is the movie for you. For those that give it a low rating are wannabe movie critics.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Gets better each time.
In most trilogies it seems the creators just mail it in for a cash grab aka hostel, hangover, matrix etc. Every sequel in this series got better didn't do the same old things as it's predecessor and took a different plot twist yet sticking to its core. Highly recommend.
