You need to be able to Empathize with your protagonist for a show to be successful
7 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Im all for gender equality but you wrote that the Susie character was unable to play basketball, she hasnt practiced or has ANY natural talent but feels shes entitled to be on the basketball team and is offended when others point out the obvious, if she were talented or even at the very least spent any effort practicing the audience could have empathized with her reasoning but she did neither. Then she tries out and only succeeds because of magic, how is that a positive portrayal of an LGBTQ character?

That is compounded by the fact that Sabrina has to cheat on the first task in order to win. The message of the show should not be that you beat the bullies by cheating. If the message of the show was female empowerment it clearly did the opposite.

This show is about a bored suburban couple who could not have kids so they adopted a hot twenty-something year old. Its hilarious watching the chaos if im honest, i love the supporting cast they all deserves their own shows their story arcs are infinitely more interesting.

Why doesnt Paul deserve forgiveness for his transgressions as well?
19 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Why is it that pauls the only character who does not deserve forgiveness? His only crime was wanting to have a relationship with those kids he seemed like a decent guy and probably got caught up in the idea of having a family and fell for Jules who, was in a relationship with a controlling mean alcoholic. By the end Nic comes out looking like the victim which was the most unbelievable plot twist ever.

Any sort of Empathy from the main character would have been great
10 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I loved jumper and the premise of this show but Henry and her mom are the most ungrateful characters i've ever seen. The supporting characters are continuously treated horribly and then are expected to go above and beyond to help them it makes no sense. There's one scene where Jenna literally stabs a guy to protect Henry then she just goes upstairs and leaves her to clean up the mess, when she returns downstairs she proceeds to verbally abuse Jenna for just confirming what Henry told her mother in the first place. The fact that the supporting characters had their own personal demons they seemed to be struggling with but the two of them lack any sort of empathy to realize whats going on around them in my view makes them even more unlikeable. Who wants to root for such a selfish of hero?

So i watched all 10 episodes my recommendation would be to fire the writers and hire some new ones who are capable of writing a more likeable protagonist and are able to develop plot points without the characters keeping secrets from each other for no goddamn reason its lazy. Here's a hint the writing is trash if every major crisis would have been avoided if they all communicated with each other. It's like the writers wanted to do a gritty teenage drama about sexual assault but were paid to write a script for a show about teleportation and in the end managed to accomplish neither. I'm so disappointed I don't know if this show could be saved.

Robby is the worst.
10 June 2018
Its hard to be sympathetic with the guy who plays Robby he looks like a douchebag he was annoying on designated survivor as well. Other than that the show is fantastic the other actors played their roles well, they could have done a better job of fleshing out Miguel's reasons for becoming a jerk because if felt like him wanting to hurt the guy sort of went against who he was at his core.

It gets you where it counts
6 June 2018
So this could have gone horribly wrong if they chose to hide the major plot point instead they focused on building the viewers empathy towards the different characters so the progression of the storyline seemed inevitable and understandable or some may say predestined.

Disappointing
17 May 2018
It would be nice if any of the plot developments were surprising.... that was the great thing about this show in the previous seasons its clearly lacking in this one. How unfortunate :/

Cringingly Bad writing
22 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Poorly written episode. Why would Allen go to the home without his suit? (I mean the entire premise for having a costume is to avoid situations like those) and after all they have been through the team was way to dismissive of the possibility that DeVoe could be the villain. In the end for the viewers it was nothing more than a filler episode. I understand that Iris needs to be the leader because it's easier to write her into episodes but every time it turns out her judgment was wrong her position looks even less plausible.
