Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Wouldn't see it again, wouldn't recommend it
I am ardent fan of comic book movies and always thought that Spiderman 1 & 2 were couple of the best made movies of that genre. Obviously, I went to see the movie with great expectations. I had some reservations as to how they were going to fit so many characters in the movie, and sadly my fears were not baseless.
At no point does the movie catch a tempo and maintain it. Its one hour too long and there are too many characters. Too many friends and too many foes!! Not to account for the multiple personalities Spidey goes through himself! There are really long periods of the film where absolutely nothing is happening...just some sappy love triangle brewing. And whats the deal with Uncle Ben. The guy's dead for crying out loud. Is there no other interesting angle in Spidey's life?!! All in all the movie is average. Terribly disappointing for fans especially after Spiderman-2. My advice is, if you have to watch the movie, don't have any expectations. 90 minutes into the movie you could take a restroom break, hell you could take a shower and come and you wouldn't miss anything. Best of luck!
Sarkar (2005)
Mr. Abhishek Bachchan comes of age. Stands up in front of his father and gives a stellar performance.
The movie made out to be a tribute to the Godfather comes nowhere close to the legendary Don Corleone. Overall the movie fails to create the desired impact in-spite of a good storyline and a star studded cast. Amitabh Bachchan is Sarkar, the parallel law for those that cannot help themselves. He is not his usual over the top self and while some would be relieved, he somehow seems to have lost his edge. Supriya Pathak is extremely believable as the wife of Sarkar and the mother of her misguided son Vishnu(Kay Kay).
In the end it is Abhishek Bachchan who steals the show as Shankar. He moves effortlessly in his role as the US returned son to the son who finally takes over the reigns as Sarkar. RGV sure knows how to get the best out of him. After Lallan in Yuva, this is AB Baby's best performance.
The movie is a sure watch for Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan. The father son duo create magic when on screen together.
