Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Armageddon Game (1994)
A great episode ruined by a single stupid plot point
DS9 S2 S13 'Armageddon Game' had the dumbest plot point ive seen yet, it was a great episode until I heard it and couldn't get over it by the time the show was over.
So A civil war is going on in x civilisation for 100s of years. and to end it a mutual agreement to disarm a chemical weapon both sides use on each other, they invite Miles and Julian to aid in their efforts. But it turns out the The two sides attempted to kill everyone that knew about how to deactivate a weapon, including the Star Fleet THEY invited... Why? because they to be sure nobody made it again...
It knocked me back this was the reasoning. Sure Its expected that 1 side would try and take the research for themselves, but this idea felt so forced. Couldn't take the episode seriously after that point.
why would any culture risk war with star fleet to make sure nobody knew how to make x weapon? they already trust each other to kill a star fleet members after all.
Supercar Superbuild: Maserati Ghibli (2014)
A Supercar modification show with barely super car modification
I like the premise of the show, but dear god loathe the style of editing in this piece of garbage. The whole process all completely dumbed-down.
And seems to have the exact format of the other thousands of reality shows. Constantly getting the opinion of the presenters and the narrator about the "risks" of whatever they are doing every 5 minutes.
For a show about modifying cars, they seem to have no idea how to modify cars.
I guessed there was no more than 3 minutes of footage of them actually working on the car, the thing I'm there to watch... And of course they had to put dramatic music in the part they were working on releasing the suspension. Oh, but that 3 minutes didn't include the time they covered the whole Bloody front of the car with tape, and are surprised when that dramatically slowed the car down. The hosts either stupider than they look, or were already scrapping the bottom of the barrel for filler.
But the worst part was how they didn't even accomplish the 200mph challenge given to them... Not too surprising when all they did was a slight modification to the turbo and a basic ECU change, the rest of the show was all filler for such basic modifications. They didn't even admit to how fast they actually went around Le-man, I bet it was far from 200.
Best part of the episode was Jodie Kidd, she's hot. 3 Stars.
