Sorry to Bother You (2018)
If Terry Gilliam were black . . . .
Marvellous, odd ball & a great way to spend a couple of hours. If you like wacky story telling or anything by the great Gilliam then this will work for you.
American cinema needs this kind of indie style movie, to offset the general bilge produced by US mainstream cinema.
Beautifully shot, with a barking story line - A fine way to pass an evening.
Children of Men (2006)
Ignore the nay sayers.
Dark, dystopian, well acted and beautifully shot. Lots of reviews on here that clearly didn't like it but it's exactly what it should be (read the book and you'll see the central premise is the same).
Sombre and all too likely. Great Sunday evening viewing. Take a punt on this as iit's beautiful to watch.
The Divide (2011)
Dark....
Tense, apocalyptic, claustrophobic infused drama.
Slow burning but great late night viewing. Ignore the doubters, this is well worth a couple of hours of your time. Needs tto be watched quietly and in a single sitting.
Sit in a dark quiet room, with someone who won't keep talking/texting/getting up to make tea etc. Fantastic and underrated.
